2 reviews about Little Lamb Hot Pot

My partner and I dined last Saturday for dinner using a Scoopon voucher. I paid $39 for 2 persons (grilled option only, not hotpot), 2 beers and unlimited orange/plum cordial. Pretty reasonable considering the normal price per person is about $36 (I think) for both the grill and hotpot options).

First of all, when I surrendered my scoopon, I was just given a table number and that we could only have the skewers for the grill, and not the hotpot. There was no one to explain how to go about it, where to get cutlery, where to get beer and drinks but thank goodness I had read up on this on some other reviews. So I knew that I had to help myself to the beer from the fridge and get my own cutlery, sauces etc.

There were certainly more ingredient options if you were going for the hotpot but the skewer options were pretty average (chicken, lamb, chicken with capsicum, chicken with onion, beef, livers, prawn cakes, prawn, squid). So off I went to get the skewers and we put it on the self-rotating grill (smart idea as it allows for even cooking). There was also some cooked food option while waiting for skewers to cook (fried chicken, scallion pancakes, dumplings, etc). The quality was ok, but some of the meat quality for the skewers were pretty poor (namely the beef and lamb).

The layout was also pretty poor and cramped as the buffet counters were set close to the tables and there were times where the buffet would be so overcrowded. Other times, it was ok. I can't help but notice that the servers were carrying hot soup stocks and hot coals while weaving through bunches of people. Thank goodness no accident happened.

All in all, we left with full bellies, but thought it was unlikely we would go back again. It wasn't bad, but nothing to draw us back.

Approximate cost: $36

We went there to celebrate a friend birthday. the waitress are polite, asked us whether we have been there before and shown us how to use the equipments. They have steam boat and grill BBQ together. The downside is there is limited seafood and mostly fish balls, which you can get from nearby chinese store. The good thing about it is you have unlimited drinks so be prepared for a very full night.

Approximate cost: $40
