Average tatsing malaysian place. Heard many good reviews about this place but when I finally tried, I think the reviews were slightly exaggerated. I tried the har mee, which according to people is the best. The broth was quite bland and could barely taste the prawn stocks. My brother had the Char Kway Teow and it tasted much better than my har mee.
Used to like the Penang char kuay teow here. Just went last night and was disappointed. Kuay teow was overcooked and dry and though I asked for Hot out of a choice of Hot, Medium or Mild, I could hardly taste any chilli flavour at all. The Assam laksa has also gone down, soup was not as tasty as before. Special of the day was Lor Mee and that tasted alright but the lor mee I know has a thicker gravy. Will try it again in case the cook was off last night!
Approximate cost: $10
This nyonya restaurant is one of the best and original food i have tasted in Melbourne. Since i grew up in malaysia i have always looking for authentic food which I am used to in malaysia. The food here is very original and good.
