I've been here a few times for functions and found the staff to be excellent. Really friendly. Love the beautiful table in the wine room too. Nice place for a catch up with friends. Good range of wines, although a little pricey. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Restaurant is modern, clean, well lit & conveniently located, with great views overlooking the park and the street. Plenty of parking is available nearby. There is a very comfortable seating arrangement, with tables not too close to each other. Service was excellent, and waitresses were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The antipasti platter was good, and pizza was tasty. Both were of great value. A tip if you get the antipasti platter to share though, it's very large! Luckily we were forewarned by our friendly waitress and did not order too much.

However, we were a bit disappointed with the desserts. The orange scented mascarpone tiramisu tasted a bit artificial, and the chocolate & cointreau sauce was served in a small sauce plate, which didn't look very attractive. The Italian chocolate & expresso cake did not have a very strong taste of espresso, but presentation-wise was much better than the tiramisu.

All in all, it was a nice meal, and the ambience and service were great. However, maybe next time we will avoid the cakes and have coffee instead.

Approximate cost: $20 - $25

I went to La Piazza for a Christmas break up and really enjoyed the authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant has an Italian/Mediterranean atmosphere with the interior brickwork and decor.

La Piazza was quite busy when I was there, however the staff were able to keep up with the drinks, food and clearing the tables. We didn't have to wait long between courses and our waiter saw when our drinks were getting low and would come over and offer top ups.

The menu offered a great selection of food - there were many different dishes to choose from, from pastas to traditional pizzas to meat and chicken meals - I chose the veal and prosciutto with gnocci and savoured every bite.

Approximate cost: $40
