There is a great range of books and stationery, with specific books imported from Japan and other countries. Here, I am able to get my Japanese stationery and magazine fix-- although items may be a tad expensive due to shipping costs added with the actual price of the item, this shop gives me an opportunity to be able to buy items that I can't usually buy in Sydney.

I absolutely love this bookstore! It has everything, and its Japanese book range is quite wide. If they don't have a Japanese book that you're looking for chances are they can order it for you for no extra cost. However default prices at the store for the Japanese books can get a bit pricey, but since you can't find it anywhere else I guess it's worth the money.

Big place with lots of books from everywhere!
Lots of Asian books too for those looking for foreign books.
Great idea for a great shop and they should have one of these in every city in Australia.
We need one in Adelaide anyway

Approximate cost: $nor

Kinokuniya has a very large range of books, cds and even little gadgets. The prices are quite expensive as they are imported from other countries. The staff are very kind and are always willing to search on their database for items that you cannot find on the shelf.

Unlike the other bookstores, it also sell books in other languages, such as Japanese and Chinese. It also sell stationery, card and stuffed toy. It is a good place to go for inspiration of gifts.

Pretty much my absolutely favourite bookstore. A must to visit when I'm in the city. It's large, casual and comfortable bookstore to look at books read in and just relax. Even has it's own Cafe. Can view their books online to check if they have the book your looking for in stock in the actual store before visiting if your visiting from a far and it's out of your way. If you're looking for a book they don't have there is always a chance they can get it in for you even those books other book stores don't get and foreign books which usually are limited to the USA. They can place books on hold for you and tell you the price of the book prior to ordering a book and they don't even charge for shipping internationally. From my experience they are usually the first to get in books as opposed to other bookstores especially those that are sequels to other stories. Very cheap especially if you purchase a customer card for $15 which earns you 10% off any books (excl. Stationary) for a whole year. Love the store.

I was able to find my items with the help of customer services with ease and they helped me to identify other items that I may be interested in relation to the ones I was looking for. They're prices are considerable considering that they present items which are not usually found within Australia.

Approximate cost: $20

kinokuniya is a bookstore that stocks an extensive collection of Manga, graphic novels, art and design books, cookbooks, travel books and children's literature. It's usually cheaper than the other bookstores in the area and has a more extensive collection.

A fantastic book store in the heart of Sydney. Stores books and magazines in Japanese and Chinese besides English. Beautiful stationaries and cards. Although it's international books and magazines are at least 2-4 times as expensive.
