This restaurant is always busy (Very busy) during lunch time.. and most of the lunch box, sushi and onogiri sold out very quickly. The price is a bit expensive compare to other Japanese restaurants. However, it is worth to try ..

Authentic japanese sushi and onigiri. This place is always packed at lunch time. Tried their lunch boxes, slightly expensive and just average tasting. But the sushi and onigiri are amazing. My fave are salmon onigiri and spider roll (soft shell crab sushi). I love that they actually let you roll your own sushi. The sushi rice and nori(seaweed) are wrap separately to keep the seaweed nice and crispy.

One of the nicest tasting sushi rolls and japanese dishes I've had for lunch that's affordable.

Kenzan is another one that serves really authentic top quality Ramen. It is however more pricier than others. The noodles were cooked just about right. Broth was flavoursome but not too salty and there was generous amounts of chashu toppings. Another 'must try' if you are into Ramen.

Good, basic Japanese with good quality ingredients. Very tasty & authentic. I've lived in Japan & it's one of the decent ones in Melbourne. Great for lunch.

Kenzan serve good lunch. I like their salad and salmon skin sushi roll. In fact, all their sushi rolls are excellent. Highly recommended for a quick lunch and their queue system is good. Do not expect a fine dining service but a fast food service. Food is good. I guess that's matter the most.

The handrolls are one of the best in Melbourne i think... especially with the crisp DIY seaweed around it. Recommend the spider temaki, chilly beef and crispy salmon skin hand rolls, although the noodles are excellent too, especially the Spicy pork mince noodles..... not exactly cheap.. but you get what you pay for, which is quality and freshness.

Getting Japanese food is quite easy these days, especially in the city. Kenzan is an amazing place on one of the flanks of the remodelled GPO. The hand rolls are entertaining to make (you do them yourself) and are of a good quality. I prefer the noodles and these come to you in a large steaming bowl. The serves are quite large and often I can't finish. Despite this, the food is authentic Japanese and the setting is one of a number of excellent nooks in town.

Very popular place for Japanese handrolls with a difference and hot meals, esp with lunchtime work crowd. They have delicious soft shell crab handrolls and crispy seawood handrolls. Hot meals are also good but pretty standard compared to their handrolls. Get in early for a seat.

Approximate cost: $12
