A great place to eat Indian food... The service is amazing and the food I can consider it very authentic. Three different dishes and all were great. Pity it is so far from home.

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal, hence the cuisine here is Nepalese. As it is situated between India and China, it borrows or defines it's own sense of food with elements from its surroundings.

I have dined in various other Nepalese restaurants and was quite eager to sample the food at this establishment. I was not disappointed as it was similarly on par with other greats.
The prices were about average and the service was quick, efficient and kindly without being overbearing.

My husband and I have really been enjoying Nepalese cuisine lately, so this sounds like another restaurant we would love to try. Thanks for reviewing.

Quite expensive! The portions are quite small for its price. I have had much better Indian food on O'connell street at "Beyond India". I believe the food at Kathmandu Palace Restaurant is slightly overpriced. Not my favourite restaurant, however everyone has different taste.

Booked our table for 2 at 7pm at around 5pm and specified our seating preferences. When we arrived we were offered several choices of tables and were delighted to have our pick. The restaurant was unusualy quiet for a Friday, but soon started to fill up. A very pleasant waitress brought us the menu and complimentary pappadoms. There was a satisfactory wine selection and it was chosen and brought to our table promptly. Our waitress was also prompt in taking our meal order, but gave us sufficient time to peruse the menu. We shared an entree and about 10 mins later hot (yes!) plates were brought to the table and a few minutes after that we were served our main courses, rice and bread from the tandoori. What we also appreciated was that everything was served together. The food was absolutely superb and so very, very tasty. An extremely satisfying experience.

If you love Indian food, you'll also love this one! High quality food in a lovely atmosphere. I love the little dumplings that squirt this wonderful flavour into your mouth!

A great little Nepalese restaurant with a homely atmosphere. Very busy, which indicates popularity and great food. Quite hard to get into but the meals are fantastic and can be adjusted to suit your taste buds i.e. mild, medium etc.

Warm, cosy restaurant with fantastic food. Brilliant entrees with great mains as well. Recommend having a selection of the entrees as they are wonderful! The service is also very good with very attentive and professional staff.
