I do enjoy Joy of India, can always rely on the perfect curry. Prices are great, onion bhaji, lamb rogan josh, vindaloo and butter chicken are my usual curries I like to order with my girlfriend. Always satisfied with our meals.

Took advantage of a $35 Scoopon, to enjoy a 3 course meal for 2 people - we also took a 3rd person along with us, who paid for their own. The restaurant itself looks lovely and modern, with tables, chairs and some booth type seating too. There is also an under cover area outside, which would be lovely on a warm night. (50 seats inside and 50 outside). We were seated in a comfortable booth and given a glass of water each, along with the menu's. When no-one came back to take our order after 20 minutes, I went to the service desk and placed the order myself. There were only 5 other occupied tables, so couldn't work out why it took so long. The meals themselves were just lovely! We started with 2 entrees - Onion Bhaji and Mixed Vegetable Pakora's, served with a beautiful sweet sauce. For the mains, we chose Chicken Korma, Lamb Korma and Lamb Rogan Josh. Served with plain basmati and also saffron Kashmiri pulao rice. Servings of plain and garlic Naan, complemented the meals. It was all VERY delicious. They started to pack up the chairs and outside tables around 8.30, making us feel like they wanted to go home and we should hurry up - not a nice feeling. However, when we asked for the desert (which was 1 Gulab Jamun each), to be put into a container to take home, we were told it wasn't allowed because we had used a Voucher. Very strange rule so we stayed longer to eat the desert there. Who are we to argue with them?So even though the initial service was very slow, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The prices are very reasonable too - Entrees and deserts were an average of $8 each and the mains were $16, with seafood dishes a couple of dollars dearer. The waitress was friendly enough but looked like she would have rather been any where else ... had a totally disinterested expression. All in all though, we loved the food, the prices and the ambience, so would definitely be worth a return visit without the Scoopon.

Approximate cost: $16
