I've been going to this cafe fairly regularly with my cycling group for the past 2-3 months (maybe 1-2 times a week?) but unfortunately today will be the last time. Even though the cafe was nowhere near full, when we arrived today he asked us to sit outside at the back as he didn't want the place "overrun with cyclists" (it was probably around 12 degrees so still very cold!). He later came out and said that he has very valuable clients and can't have us taking over the place and going through boxes of stuff (one of the club organisers had met us there with a small box containing some kit for a couple of the girls - it was certainly not offensive). It's true that we generally only get 1 or 2 coffees each which I'm sure is not that profitable, but on weekends people often get breakfast as well when they have more time. The food and coffees have been pretty good in the past but it was made very clear that cyclists were not welcome today so I won't be back. There are plenty of other cafes looking to attract the cycling crowd.

Hi Fiona, One can only assume that the business in question will be 'banging their heads against a brick wall' given your 'public' disclosure and identity. Irrespective of this, it was no doubt a disappointing experience for you (and your friends), who had been gathering at this venue for some time. One can only assume that this business no longer requires the custom (and money) of local bike riders, which leads a body to wonder what other sub-groups within the community will be discriminated against. Thank you for a well written and detailed review. Reeces

Great little coffee bar, but don't expect much from the cuisine. The coffee is fantastic - excellent spot for a quick Saturday breakfast; when a flat white and a muffin will do...

Approximate cost: $12

The search for kid-friendly venues is part solved by Jerry's Milkbar. It has an indoor/outdoor facilities; the latter has a small cubby house, numerous ride on trains and buckets of toys that will keep a high-energy toddler occupied for the length of your meal.
The food is simple - the ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich I had looked just as I would have made it. The coffee is good and certainly better than my machine and I could do. The staff are also friendly and very much mindful that you are juggling your tummy and your tot.

Approximate cost: $12
