Very bad attitude. Will never go there again. The staff member was very rude to customer & the boss is helping her to kick customer out. They gave a quote to booking for cut & perm for 150. Then when the customer arrived they use the excuse of customer hair got highlights to increase the price to $170. Bad skills & very deceiving. Dirty environment as well

Don't even bother. I used to go here for all my haircuts and they did a great job. But one time that I wasn't paying attention, I got a chunk of my hair cut out in the middle, and to make it even they did it on the other side! I only noticed when I got home :( I also got my roots dyed at the same time and they completely ruined that, my hair ended up very yellow in the roots, I ended up having 3 different colours in my hair once my regrowth came through. Absolute waste of $100, will never recommend this place.

Very happy with my recent haircut at Ivy.
Personally I find them polite, took great care during the cut.

Just be aware that generally Asian hairdresser (except maybe Japanese ones) do not offer same etiquette as other local Aussie hairdressers. There was no tea served, no asking if I want my hair washed/blow dry as well, no asking if I want a certain hairdresser to attend to me - just one or two simple questions on style of cut and off they go. Efficient. I didn't even know the price until when I'm at the cashier.

However this is normal practice in Asia, they are experienced and know what to do and price was great. I will be returning even though I will move away from the Hornsby area.

I also love that they are not super busy. They will accomodate walk-ins and there's always Westfield next door to kill time in between. I made one phone call an hour before the cut on a weekend and reservation was done (mindful that English is their second language).

I value efficiency and value for price rather than service or interior design.

Approximate cost: $40

I have never been happy with the haircut I get as much as when I get it from this shop. From the first time i got my haircut here, i never went anywhere else. Kinda weird to say but I only trust Koreans to cut my hair. They're the best

Approximate cost: $25

I've been to Ivy Hair Co a number of times over the years (about 10-15 times) so this review is based on a few experiences with the hair salon.

I have pretty mixed feelings about Ivy Co. I'm one of those people who bring a photo/picture in of how I'd like my hair cut. I'm a realist- I know it's very unlikely to have an exact replica cut of the pic I bring in but i can honestly say that every cut I have had with Ivy Co has not even come CLOSE to the picture and by this I mean my cut doesn't even end up the same LENGTH as the picture, let alone shape, texture etc. (Today I got a crop after having showed my hairdresser a picture of a girl with hair just pass her shoulder... go figure!) And yet, I find that I keep going back to Ivy Co because their cuts are good. Sure they never give me what I ask for, but I can also safely say I've never had a bad cut from them.

Pros:
- Accept walk-ins and short wait times (if any)
- No pushy sales staff
- Prices are reasonable

Cons:
- Next to nil consultation time. Forget questions about your lifestyle, how much time you want to put into styling your hair or asking the hairdresser for their input. You just have to know what you want

Finally, it's not a criticism per se but the girls (and sometimes boys) here are all business. While polite, they are not particularly friendly or social. Don't expect questions about your day or your work/life.

Approximate cost: $45
