Strongly recommend against buying an illusion heater, especially if you have a mantle. Booked a repair and service for my 6 year old heater. 2 weeeks later serviceman arrives only to tell me he can’t do anything unless my mantle is removed. Charged me $160 and left. At no point when I called to book the service did they ask me if my fireplace was in a mantle and warn me it will need to be removed before anything can be done. I even had sent photos of the unit. I called to suggest in future they ask this question and they told me its not uncommon for this to happen but it is up to the customer to tell them they have a mantle. Secondly the problem is a flat battery inside the receiver. Battery need changing every few years, which requires removal of the mantle. Ridiculous design!

We bought a gas log fire and are really happy with the product. Showroom staff were very happy to help and show us all the different ranges. We had to reschedule our installation date and they were more than happy to oblige. Installers were quick and efficient but damaged our wall while fitting the heater. There was however a few unexpected costs that had not been explained to us at the time of purchase. Overall we were quite happy with the service.
