We have been wanting to try the Groove Train for a while now and tonight we did. Well, we were so sorry that we did. My chicken, bacon and egg salad club sandwich was very average. Would have made a nicer sandwich at home. Hubby had the grilled Atlantic salmon on a bed of salad and asked for a bowl of veggies on the side. Atlantic salmon arrived under cooked . The waitress approached us asking if we were happy with our meals and hubby showed her the under cooked Atlantic salmon. She was happy to provide him with another Atlantic salmon meal but he was not entirely happy with the replacement meal either. As for the side bowl of veggies. The chef's idea of a bowl of veggies consists of a piece of broccoli and two pieces of cauliflower mixed with lettuce leaves and coleslaw mix . Overall we were very disappointed with our meals, and sadly will not be going back. A shame because Southland is in very dire need of a good quality restaurant.

Ordering at a lunch time hour, when it was very quiet, the meals took a long time to come out (20 minutes for a foccacia) and the waiter did not offer us any water at the table or anything. The foccacias are cheap and yummy though!

Approximate cost: $14

We were a big table and if noticed tables behind me, next to me were being served after a waitress was done with another table I asked politely if we could order a drink and she said she'd have to get another waiter, so we waited and they were not that friendly either. Now the most important part: food! I enjoyed my polenta veggie stack but it wasn't anything special it's usually the standard veggie option at a cafe. My bf ordered the prosciutto cheese pizza and OMG it was horrible. We are strong cheese lovers but this pizza was wrong. It shocks me cos chefs generally have tasted what they put on the menu but this pizzas cheese was far too strong it hurt my mouth when I tried it. I am a big fan of blue and gorgonzola but even the French would say this stunk. Prices were average- it's just nothing special but southlands food options aren't very special anyway
