Carly was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She made a very tough process mich easier to deal with and her commitment and customer service skills are fantastic!

My elderly mother contracted Greenhaven to take care of my sisters funeral. Carly was kind, explained everything to my mother with great patience, and arranged a beautiful funeral service for my sister. I highly recommend them. We have a link to view the service again if we want and an app will be provided for people to view all aspects of the funeral again including photo tribute etc. I also loved my mother choosing a family run business, that supports small business and that has environmentally sound funeral options, and although we did not take advantage of that, I love that they have that option.

Sadly my experience of this same funeral and service was very different to yours, the link still is not working properly 3 days later and we could not attend online as promised further the looping problem was interrupted by a request to log on and give our personal details during the service or we couldn't see it . I have had no apology and in fact because someone didnt agree with my review someone has very inappropriately contacted our mother and greatly upset her.
I am still beng contacted by people wanting to watch the service and upset they cant.
I was extremely distressed personally and upset by this failure, it started late and they allowed no time prior to the start of the funeral to sort any issues nor did they have a back up so a problem like this did not happen and it has been compounded by a lack of apology. Further Carly upset a friend of Michelles to the point that she chose not to attend, also very distressing to me and the other person.
Our mother from the bits I saw was amazing, as was the master of ceremony and our sisters best friend but for me personally it was about sharing this time with my deceased sister and those attending, instead I was left to see it though a hand held phone and could not hear what was said nor feel as if I was there with you all. It has exacerbated the grief I have for the loss of our sister, whom I always kept close contact with during her life.
There is no second chance to do this rightand Although my experience was most upsetting I am glad that you were able to attend and had a positive one. Carly made it very clear as I was not paying she had no responsibility nor duty of care to me. There are better ways to deal with a grieving sister stuck in lockdown greatly distressed at her sisters sudden death and unable to see or be present due to Covid lockdowns and then for even attending her funeral online because of their stuff up!
Whomever contacted our mother regarding my experience was totally lacking any decency nor consideration to our grieving mother and did it most with a huge lack of boundaries and selfish intent.

This review is anonymous due to the fallout and dreadful response to the previous review and someone getting my mother involved and attempting to bully me into pulling my reviews!

I just don’t want any other people to go through what I and 36people online did!

It is tough enough being in lockdown and unable to attend your sisters funeral let alone attempting to see it for the subsequent 32hrs.

There has still been no apology to me personally (although I was not the one who paid for the funeral, and therefore not technically their client) I am the deceased sister.

Part of the experience of any rite of passage, including a funeral is seeing people arrive…and seeing and being part of the event at the time it is happening…..

Most online streaming of funerals start the streaming 15min prior. (This is how several recent funerals I have attended have been done!) so that any problems can be sorted and so those watching feel part of this important right of passage.

Problem:

Streaming started later than the apointed time

When it streamed it just looped

There was no backup system so streaming could still commence…

People streaming were asked during these issues by the streaming provider, (as were others half way through the delayed streaming) for personal details, this further interrupted the service and if one didn’t want to give these details it stopped the streaming. (This should have taken place well before the service commenced.)

I sent 2 texts to The person running the funeral stating streaming wasn’t working and I was sent two texts back,

1”They are trying to resolve the tech issue now ..”

2“ The service will be recorded and able to be watched this afternoon due to issues with the internet.”

No apology was forthcoming…

(Mum has I believe has now been refunded the cost of the streaming)

I have for the past 32hrs off and on attempted to see my sisters funeral just now managed to do so, 32hrs after the funeral, however it is still not working properly and intermitently stops and has to be started again.

During the last 32hrs I went onto a public page of this company to write a review and was shocked to see my sisters coffin on their first post…(At least they have now taken it down!) this added to my distress and was most upsetting. It is so disrespectful to post this image without first speaking to all family members to get permission.

Since I first posted this review earlier today they have contacted my mother (my deceased sisters mum) and greatly upset her by talking about a review that I wrote (this) about my personal experience of their service. It was totally inappropriate to do so, especially the day after her daughters funeral, and when she did not write the review and when they could have contacted me directly to sort the issue with an apology and undertakings as to how this would not happen to anyone else.

I stand by my review and it is my opinion regarding this funeral business that it has handeled these issues and others in manner that is, if not unprofessional, certainly inappropriate.

To not apologise (maybe they did to my mother) and instead to stir up problems in a bereaved family, so that this review would be pulled instead of giving any sort of public apology is, quite frankly, unforgivable.

PS another friend who is in lockdown contacted me today and they said “ I think you should know that this eveningI clicked on it, and it went into the memorial briefly - I heard a tiny bit of music - and then it cut out. It did it twice. I do hope the funeral home get the permanent record and site up.“

It is now 2days after the funeral. No apology!

No apology…I do not expect one now. I certainly hope they do not make anyone else go through this debacle and upset the bereaved so much…at least 10 days after the funeral (I was notified via my mother) those that wanted to attend via live feed could at last see most of my sisters funeral and the photos…

I am glad that my sisters experience when she actually attended in person the same funeral was such a positive experience and that the company was perceived by her and from what she has stated by my mother as kind and patient…I take some small comfort in that.

Carly and the team went above and beyond and were available at all hours to ensure that we had the perfect farewell for my mum. Anything we asked for was possible and I couldn't have asked for better service. Thank you so much Greenhaven Funerals for making the celebration of my mum as personalised and seamless as possible!

Thank you Carly and Tim for making our experience so special, It was the most amazing celebration of my wife that we will treasure forever.
The way you conducted the whole ceremony was so professional and flowed just beautifully, I am forever grateful that this day went so perfectly.
I know Sal was with us in spirit on the day and would have been so happy with the whole celebration.

Carly, Jules and the team at Greenhaven went above and beyond any expectations I had of a funeral service provider.
I’ve been a 24/7 carer for my mum full time for the past four years and I knew when I met Carly that my mother was going to be in the best possible hands. I knew it in my heart.
From day one I felt looked after, supported and guided by Carly and her team who were kind, caring, respectful and clearly love what they do.
Communication was clear and easy. They just make things happen.
Mums service was yesterday. It was a beautiful tribute to her life and the person she was.
