Very worthwhile day trip. Comfortable seats. Pile your plate high at lunchtime. Two stops: firstly to walk through the forest on a boardwalk and later on to walk around Sarah Island on a guided tour.
This tour is a MUST!

Approximate cost: $117 lunch included

Very professionally run, great lunch, great staff, great boat and a wonderful part of the world. The trip around Sarah Island was a highlight. Only negative thing was that the forest walk was short and restricted to a small area so you didn't really get a feel for the old forest areas. Recommended

We were fortunate in having perfect calm weather for this trip, but in any case it was very professionally carried out, and the included buffet lunch was higher quality than expected. The ride up the river and back was lovely, you could stand outside or sit inside in comfort; there was plenty of reference material to read, and an interesting young guide giving a commentary along the way. The stops and tour round the island were a revelation of times past. join the queue in plenty of time for your boarding ticket, or you'll feel rushed

Disappointed in a very commercial operation that was totally inflexible in meeting my needs to arrange a trip for my family and American visitors. After several visits and phone calls, including to the manager, trying to come to a reasonable arrangement, I went down the road to the World Heritage Cruises to find a family run business that was most happy to accommodate us.

Approximate cost: $700

This was a brilliant cruise. We went on the captain's premier deck upstairs and would highly recommend it if you can stretch your money a bit further. The benefits of the upper deck were free drinks all day (beer, wine, champagne, tea, coffee, soft drink - whatever you wanted) better seats with a better view, your own toilet, a different buffet for lunch, and a personal hostess (not shared with the other deck).
The staff could not have been more hospitable and readily answered all questions (including the captain whom you have access to for most of the day). We were waited on hand and foot, got served amazing local food and it made for a great, relaxing day.
As already mentioned, you make two stops - a rainforest walk and a visit to the convict island. The rainforest walk is almost pointless - there are way to many people for it to be enjoyable but the Sarah Island tour was one of the highlights of our trip. The guides that take you round the island are hilarious and give a very entertaining commentary!

Lovely all day cruise up the Gordon River.Stops include Sarah Island, rainforest walk, fish farming tour. Captain was brilliant. The buffet lunch was filling enough and there was free coffee and tea all day. The scenery was spectacular. Value for money. Fully recommend!
