EmRelle is an amazing new guesthouse in Bendigo. The rent arrangement is unique, in that you rent either 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms in the house.
We rented 2 and did not pay for the third, as we did not utilise it.
The house is beautiful. A lot of thought has obviously gone into the decor and furnishings.
The beds were very comfortable with high quality sheets.
The dining table was nice and large.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could want; even a loose leaf teapot much to my delight.
There was a separate kids' space, with their own television and DVD player, as well as tubs full of toys and puzzles. This kept our 3.5 year old son happily occupied during our time there. How nice to not hear 'I'm bored!' for once!
A few strange things though-
-The DVD player was not plugged into the TV. I had to get my husband to sort it out as I could not find where the holes were.
-apparently the guest before us nicked the batteries from two of the remotes. This was annoying when we wanted to watch a DVD as we had to transfer batteries from the heater remote.
-in the pantry was a half consumed bag of Coles Jasmine Rice; an almost empty tub of peanut butter; and in the freezer a half eaten box of Calippos. When I mentioned to the owner, she said that the last guests had left them there and they had wanted to leave them for future guests. All good and well, but I don't know if the last kid using the peanut butter scratched his butt and then dipped his fingers in. I think if this is the intention, then the goods need to be put in a labelled basket so it doesn't seem like housekeeping is lax.
-almost empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower.
- the noise from the Brougham Arms Hotel on a Friday night was quite loud, and kept me awake until around midnight. We did enjoy a lovely dinner there though.

EmRelle was hands down the best guesthouse I've ever stayed in. It is perfect for families, as well as couples. My relatives highly enjoyed their stay and we are trying to find an excuse to return.
