Miranda Robinson is a female Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 10 years of experience practising in Fitzroy. She is passionate about providing holistic, patient-focused care. Through her extensive experience she can discuss with you all aspects of Obstetric and Gynaecology care. She is more than happy to manage all pregnancies including IVF and Twin Pregnancies. She is also skilled in Vaginal Breech and Twin Deliveries and is happy to support those seeking a VBAC (Vaginal birth after caesarean section)
She can manage many gynaecological complaints including abnormal pap smears, heavy periods, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, pelvic pain and ovarian cysts. She has a vast knowledge of all aspects of Family Planning including insertion of IUCDs.
Miranda graduated from Otago University in Dunedin New Zealand in 1994. She was awarded the Obstetrics Prize in her 5th year but did not consider it as a career until much later. After 2 years working at Christchurch Public Hospital she emigrated to Australia in February 1997. It was during her time at the Royal Women's Hospital pursuing a Diploma in Obstetrics that she fell in love with the field.
She began her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Medical Centre in 1999. She was awarded the Gold Medal in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Specialist Exams in 2002.
She completed her training at the Mercy Hospital for Women in 2003 and at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in England in 2004. It was here that she gained a great deal of experience in gynaecological surgery.
She currently works in both private and public practice. She holds a public position at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg a tertiary level teaching hospital. At the Mercy she works on a Laparoscopic Gynaecology Unit, which has a particular interest in menstrual disorders and minimally invasive surgery.
She has private admitting rights at both St Vincents Private Fitzroy and the Epworth Freemasons.
When she isn't busy running her practice she likes to spend time with her own 2 little people. Through her own experiences can impart her first hand knowledge of pregnancy and child birth!! She also has an amateur knowledge of film, food, wine and interior design.

Amazing Dr who guided me through my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter with such a calming manner that I felt 110% safe in her hands. I had a long labour, pre eclampsia and all the bells and whistles but still had a magical natural birth.

A wonderful caring Obstetrician who looked after all my questions / concerns during the pregnancy & delivery by cesarean. I certainly will hopefully use Miranda again.
