The atmosphere is exceptional. We have visited in Summer and Winter and it is really cosy - a continental feel with the décor and plants. We have eaten lunch on two occasions and coffee and cake on several others. The coffee and tea is quite good, being made as ordered. The food quality and range of choices is good. The staff have been, on three of those occasions much too impatient when they deal with customers. I observed, on a recent visit (Jan 2014) the waitress treating each customer, before me, with impatience. When my turn came there was no time to enquire about anything as I was treated with the same impatience. With my excellent pie came ??, COLD pie and no offer of cream or ice cream. We sat enjoying our drinks and food for 30 minutes next to two tables packed with used dishes. Customers from two other tables continued to place used plates etc onto these two tables so they could sit down to clean tables. Overlook the erratic staff and the food and atmosphere ARE acceptable.

Go for breakfast and you get bacon and eggs with the best cooked eggs and bacon and continental bread on the side.
Coffee is really delicious. I have been so many times, I do not care what I order, it always comes out mighty fine and yummy to me.
And the dining room! Hey how about the feel of the good old days with real furniture made of timber. The lighting/ mood is quite inviting.

I have visited Donchos for dinners on many occaisions now and do not have a negative word to say about them. The staff have always been friendly and they know the meals on the menu well and are not bothersome or intrusive either.

For me, the pricing of the meals is more than reasonable as you not only get larger servings you also get great quality food that is of a higher standard for the price than many other more popular restaurants around.

I've mostly visited for dinners and there are usually only maybe fifteen or so other tables being used (they can seat many many more) and is generally not noisy and is quite relaxed. As for daytime services I have not experienced those first hand, but have heard that weekends can get very busy from all the shoppers of the nursery, but weekdays are usually fairly quiet.

Over all, I will continue to visit Donchos as they are a great local restaurant that is close to home with the feel of a classy city restaurant that won't break the budget.

Quiet disappointing. Slow and unfriendly service. Way over priced for poor quality food. Was quiet shocked by the poor service and quality of the over all restaurants orgonisation and food services. Do not plan on returning any time soon.

I came in on Tuesday night (13/4/10), the food cooked for me and my family was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean and looked great. Compliments to the chef.

Nice well presented Cafe, great for a dinner out.
It was a pleasent atmosphere to dine have a few drinks and catch up with family and friends, the staff are well presented and cheerful which made things comfortable.

This new restaurant is classy, has great variety of food and very reasonable prices. Situated in the beautiful Virginia Nursery complex I would recommend it to anyone.
