Thanks to all the helpful, friendly staff, we had the best ever fish and chips with lovely fresh flathead tails and fresh gummy shark on the beach outside of your shop. It was great to know you also had lovely local wine to takeaway as well. Nothing better than a glass of that local pinot grigio with my fish and chips. I also love your use of cholesterol free oils in your cooking. It leaves one feeling healthy at the end of their meal. I also enjoyed the garden salad. A great experience, we will be coming back!

Found a medium thick curly hair cooked into the batter of my prawn & also a short bristle hair on my sons fish which may have come from a pastry brush. When i rang to complain the staff was so rude in the background saying 'oh well what do you want me to do about it, i wear a hat, it would'nt be a hair'! I brought the food back to show him the hair as clearly he did not believe me & then he was so rude about the whole situation and said what do you want me to do about it, have a glass of wine for your troubles!! Is he for real!! We have two businesses & treating your customers like that is not going to get you very far, treating me like some young teenager to shut me up with a glass of wine! Absolutly disgusted and diappointed.... worst fish & chips down the penninsula!

We called into this small restaurant in Blairgowrie on Saturday evening looking for an early meal. We had planned to have fish and chips on the beach but time went by and it was dark and cold so the alternative was a sit down meal somewhere. The sign said seafood and sushi so that seemed like what we wanted. The girl on the cash register was very friendly and welcoming and wasn't fazed when we said we wanted an early meal (it was only 5.45pm). There was plenty of choice on the menu but we settled for fish of the day in tempura batter, chips and salad with a glass of NZ Sav Blanc. There were 4 yummy decent sized flathead tails with lovely batter, really crunchy hot chips and a small bowl of salad with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, grated carrot with lemon juice squeezed over it. A very tasty meal. We finished with a cup of coffee - hot latte - which could have been hotter - and a long black which was just fine. The service was great - the two waiters were very helpful and friendly and it was a better meal for less cost than what we had had the night before. The place also has takeaway and was very busy but we didn't have to wait long for our meal. Will definitely go back there next time on the Peninsula.

Approximate cost: $22.00
