1 review about Chapter One Brasserie

We started with an entree of baguette and butter, tasted entirely store bought and not warmed and were charged $3.50 per person for it. Shared the salt and pepper squid that was totally lackluster and visually unappealing, garnished with two sad lettuce leaves. Taste was ok. For mains, the steak looked and tasted like something I can whip up at home, zero wow factor. For $44, we expected more quality. The trout was nice, with crispy skin and served on a bed of squid ink risotto, albeit risotto was a little mushy. Dessert of orange tart and ice cream was ok, and wine list was limited. Noise level at the restaurant was unacceptably high and can hardly hear each other. It's not in this year's Entertainment Book, which is ok as we don't think we will be returning. The positive point was the good and friendly service.

Approximate cost: $40
