I had such a relaxing experience at Calma. My beauty therapist was friendly and helpful. The entire spa actually has such a peaceful atmosphere.

I had a medi facial because i've always had troublesome skin and it's made such a difference, it's never been so clear!

I even bought my mum a voucher for a massage and a facial I was so happy with my visit.

Approximate cost: $145

I've been to Calma Medispa twice now. Both times for massages. I was very satisfied with the massages, but the general ambiance wasn't as good as I have experienced at other day spas.
I have also purchased a gift certificate for a "couples Moroccan escape" for my sister-in-law for Christmas, but when she went to book in, they could only find one certificate and insisted she had to pay for the second person in the couple. She contacted me confused that I would only pay for one person in a couple's massage, so I had to go through my credit card transactions till I found the one which showed the amount - clearly for both in the couple. She then had to ring them again and argue until they found the second record. That experience left me quite disappointed in them.

I have been going to Calma medispa for a couple of years now to treat my problem skin. My initial therapist was fantastic, she was really professional and friendly and you could see that she really enjoyed her job. Unfortunately she left not long ago, my new therapist is really good too but we just don't have the same connection that I had with the first.
I love the products they use, although they are on the pricey side. My skin is now amazing though so it is definitely worth it.
I have always found the staff at Calma to be professional and well presented. The treatment rooms I have been in have always been nice and unlike the previous reviewers I have never found them too cold. The building has recently been refurbished and I love the character of the old building.

Hi Aram, thanks for your very valuable feedback. Your new therapist is Deidre. She is extremely professional. I encourage you to let me know how you are going. Your patronage is very valued. Thanks, Christina

Sounds great, might have to give this place a try. Been very disappointed with lack of good facial places in Melbourne.

The day after I got a massage at Calma I fell so sick. The temperature of the room was cold, especially when I had a damp towel on me before. I had the massuer breathing down my face most of the time which was quite unpleasant.

Sometimes if a client is on the verge of getting sick, a massage can increase the blood flow, heart rate & stimulate the lymph nodes meaning the sickness will come to a head a lot quicker

I had a massage, body wrap and facial. The therapist was amazing, I felt thoroughly relaxed afterwards.
Having been to lots of spas over the years, I have to agree with the previous review and found the aesthetics a bit of a let down, as it is part of the experience, and I think the place is a bit tired and due for a little update.

We have now renovated. The place has been freshly painted and carpeted. Gone are the day of Moroccan decor. In place we have a fresh & modern appearance.

I received a voucher and booked in for massage and facial. The location makes it difficult to park, but the interior decorating is really lovely. The treatment room was a bit of a let down as it had 2 leather chairs that were very aged and did not fit in. The treatments ran under time which was a bit disappointing, and the facial was more of a face clean than a facial. I also found that the treatment rooms were a bit cold. However, it was a very relaxing treatment but im not sure I would return if I didnt have a discount voucher. I think they could improve on the whole spa experience.

thanks for the feedback. Since your treatment, Calma has been fully renovated.

I went here on the weekend as a surprise from my boyfriend. We had the couples spa retreat! It was very professional and relaxing! The bigger spas are more comforting I believe, but to be tucked in the city suburbs it makes the most of it. I still prefer the ones in a remote location as the atmosphere is more relaxing. Parking is shocking too!

what an amazing haven to escape to from melbourne's busy streets. the moroccan decor is so amazing that it transports you to another world. had the couples spa package and it was the ultimate bliss! expensive, but worth it!

It's fantastic when the decor literally makes you feel like you're in another country/world. This place sounds awesome...I'll be sure to check it out next time I'm in Melbourne.
