Last night Rob went down there do get us some Chips to have with the Eye Fillet Steak but I only ate the Chips since I only eat Rump Steak but I forgot to bring some.

My husband dragged me here after speaking with mates about it having the best burgers. The burgers were HUGE!! They were very tasty but difficult to wrap your mouth around. It was busy but not any busier than your usual fish and chip takeaway store.

After driving past the Igloo Roadhouse many times and dreaming of a Buxton Burger, I was very excited to have an empty stomach on Sunday and the opportunity to stop.
I was finally going to enjoy this giant burger I had heard so much about.
The dinner was run down, and there were no tables left inside but we were willing to brave the cold for this iconic burger!
Whilst the men waisted to order us ladies (and the children) made the horrifying trip (through mud puddles) to the dirty outside toilets.
We found a damp outdoor table and continued out wait for this tasty treat. When the men finally emerged 20 minutes later (and to our horror not holding burgers) the advised us they had just made it to the front of the very short queue.
They then advised us that the wait was between 45 minutes and 1 hour for a couple of burgers!
The roadhouse had seemingly recently been sold, and it appears the new owners have no idea how to cater for Sunday lunch rush! He was cooking 4 burgers at a time, on a plate capable of cooking 20!
Were they friendly? I guess so, they weren't rude. Just vague.

I can not speak to whether the burgers are still as delicious as I have so often heard they are, but I can recommend to others that this is NOT a place to make a quick stop on a Sunday afternoon. Either phone ahead of be prepared for a 1.5 hour wait during lunch hour.

Very disappointed! :(

I am sure they will improve with further experience, and I will try again in the future, but I will definitely be sure to call ahead next time.

Travelled over an hour to try this popular restaurant. Well worth the drive. Staff were very friendly, food was made fast and the burgers were among the best I have ever tasted.

Voted 2005 Best Burger. Without doubt the best (and Biggest!) burgers I have ever eaten. Huge buns, lots of great fresh meat and salad etc. We have even made the trip from Bayswater just to buy them.
