Extraordinary customer service! I landed on their doorstep on two separate occasions without notice and both times they could not have been more helpful. They were friendly, thorough and prompt. Explained everything in plain English. You couldn’t wish for more. Thank you for saving me a lot of stress.

I was a long term client of Bob Jane Tyres, they were always very good BUT

on moving from Cairns to Melbourne I found that Eltham was the closest and went there.

1st time - service was OK, tyres were good

2nd time - I rang through to book a specific tyre (Perilli set of 5) - OK not in stock, even though they were advertised. That happens - but get this - I ordered them in and promised all would be good, remember they have my contact details. I went on the specific day after I took a day off work, and on time etc. Went to the counter, to get them fitted - the manager said that he had SOLD THEM to someone else on Saturday - three days previous. I was really annoyed, he said he could re order them but when asked why he did this he could not answer, when asked why he didn't phone no answer, his attitude toward me was very poor and his demeanor was shocking. No apology.

3rd time - after going elsewhere, I thought I would give them another try! Well what a mistake!

I wanted 3 tyres and front rotated to back, ie with a new spare of the same pattern.

This was a leased vehicle so pre authorization was necessary, all OK so I thought. Lease vehicles get a reduced rate (around 20% depending on the tyre). So I came back, picked up my car, looked at the tyres, yep new ones on front and older ones rear. Paid about 480 (appropriate lease price) and left. Went home, checked the spare, not changed, went back straight away and complained that they FORGOT to change this tyre. He said - no, only paid for two, what, show me - sure enough two tyres on the receipt. I said where is the spare, he said he'd remembered that I wanted it but forgot it on the job order. Of course I asked why full price on the two, he said - after a while that he forgot the authorization, so I could submit the receipt. CRAP, the way it works is the invoice is what gets paid.

NEVER AGAIN, the manager was not in any way apologetic for his actions.

Twice bitten ...

A good deal on my tyres. The whole process went smoothly. The only thing that annoys me is they never ring you when they are finished and it was only that I was sick of hanging around and walked over that I found they were all finisged

Bob Jane in Eltham have looked after our car tyres for many years. They fit new tyres & follow up with discount deals on regular tyre service, wheel balance & alignment. It is easy to book an appointment & work is always completed at the time promised. They have a comfy waiting room with tea/coffee, magazines & TV - should you want to save walking home & back, or can't get a lift home from someone.
All this is great but still, I always feel unwelcome here because of the, what I perceive to be, unfriendly manner of the old bloke who is the manager there! Can't crack a smile out of him & his tone is very matter of fact & to the point - to the extent that I feel I shouldn't be there wasting his time! He is by no means rude but just appears very unfriendly! Pity! I'd give this place an extra star for overall value if only he made an effort to show he values us taking our business there!
Perhaps I'm judging him unfairly & he has his own problems! Who knows? But a friendly face at reception goes a long way in adding value to a business!!
