Made a enquiry about a reservation on mothers day by phone was told the only times you could book were for the 8am sitting and the 10am sitting after 12pm you had to wait for a table to become advailable. These times were nearly booked out .We had to come from Frankston when we arrived we were told we should of booked for 12pm sitting and they were booked out for this sitting. We spoke to the mananger who couldnt help us out.We left and went to a very nice restuarnt in olinda where we were made very welcome and received good service.

It was a sunny day when we visited The Black Kettle, we just needed Coffee that day and chose to have just coffee and cake on the terrace outside that overlooked the town, so It was a great view from up there. The Coffee was great and I like mine 1/2 strength, it was just right, hard to do for most as I can normally make two cups out of just the one, and the Cake was a large serve a bit hard to get through really, but SO Good.

All of the food is fresh home made and looked Delish, who doesn't love and all day breakfast.
They have home made preserves and jams that I have heard are lovely.

Great tea room in sassafras. Open Fireplace with comfy couches. Best scrambled eggs I've had. Also outside tables where you can sit with a four legged friend.

Approximate cost: $12.00

as the other two comments have said, the staff are friendly, food fresh and homemade, you can even buy the jam which is one of the best I have tasted. And if you have kids they even give them crayons and paper to color in. Love sitting by the fire with a Nice coffee and scone

Approximate cost: $14

These guys are really friendly and attentive. If they are busy they'll let you know the expected wait time. Dog friendly - they provide a water bowl and allow you to sit outside with your dog.

This is the cutest cafe I have been to in a long time! The food is delicious and they serve breakfast all day. It is very popular with visitors and bike riders! There is an open fire inside with couches and reading material. You can also sit outside on the verandah which has pull down blinds and heaters if needed. My husband LOVES the breakfasts and I have had the chicken schnitzel foccacia which is delicious, they have home made mayo. All of the food is so fresh and hot...we have been back time and again. Oh and the scones and cakes are delicious too!
