Enjoyed an adhoc meal with some of our family here last week. My wife had a beef burger, I had calamari and our son had the brisket. We all enjoyed the meals and the pre Christmas planning catch up.

After not patronizing this hotel for a number of years we have reviewed our opinion. Last night we ate in the main bar area which is smaller than the bistro and therefore quieter. There are a number of seating options, both inside and out. Happy hour between 5pm and 6pm. My husband enjoyed his calamari and my pulled lamb burger was very tasty. Served with chips too. Will be returning.

We ate here a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the roast lamb that was on the special board. There is a bistro and on some nights the children eat free. That is then a noisy spot. The staff steered us to the main bar which is olde wordy settings and very comfortable and a lot quieter. We enjoyed the experience.

Value for money - definitely not. Portions were the size of entrees. The pork was half fat and not edible and the heat of the meal was luke warm at best. I would not go back to this place ever again. Very poor indeed and not worth any stars. To cap it all, the waitress decided to vacuum around us whilst we were eating. Dreadful in every respect and never again. We walked away still hungry.

Approximate cost: $40

After a busy day we ended up having dinner at this hotel. We ate in the main bar as it was "children eat free" day and the bistro was full and noisy. Happy to eat in the main bar which had a fire and was very comfortable. Same menu as in bistro - just a more a adult setting. I had the lamb roast which was huge and very tasty. My husband had a schnitzel. A big improvement from our last visit a number of years ago. Look forward to returning.

This is my local and I love it!
Great staff, atmosphere and food.
A nice, clean and modern Pub!
Has the usual poker machines and pool tables etc. 4 different bars, Unibet etc and a intimate function room over looking the train line. Well worth the trip up the hill for a meal! Oh and an amazing playground for the kids!

Some friends wanted us to meet them here for lunch, I would have preferred somewhere else as our previous experience wasn't great. Once again we left disappointed, their food really isn't up to scratch, my husbands steak was overcooked, my fish was soggy and our friends meals weren't much better. However, our oysters did taste fresh and the staff were friendly, but that isn't enough for us to return. Also feel their prices are tooo high, we can get better elsewhere for a lot less.

Approximate cost: $20+

My husband and I had lunch here and ordered the salt and pepper squid. It was quite nice and the service ok. However this hotel is not a favourite, it was just convenient. Liked it much better many years ago with it olde worldly atmosphere.

Our last attempt here was disappointing, so we will not be returning.

I have been here with my family a few times now and previously thought it was a great, friendly, reasonably priced bistro. But our last lunch, which was a few months ago was quite disappointing. I felt the prices had gone up and the quality and serving sizes had gone down. My husband reminded me of how terrible his steak was, he likes it medium rare, it arrived at our table cold and over cooked. The meals were ok, but as I said not great and not worth the money. However, the waitresses were very friendly, just slow with our meals - I guess that's why the steak was cold. I do not believe we will be giving them another try because there are so many other great places to have an enjoyable meal.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely lunch in the bistro here recently. The décor of the hotel is very nice and very modern. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Main courses cost a little more than what I would have expected. I had the grilled chicken burger, which cost around $19. I enjoyed my burger. Drinks were reasonably priced.

It's been about 6 months since we were last here, they are a bit expensive but their food really is nice.
