I made an on-line booking as I always do and paid for it for 2 nights.
When I went to check in i was told as I didn't have any photo ID on me (no licence), my booking had to be cancelled and refunded back on my credit card. Mind you I have stayed here approximately 6+ times prior with no photo ID but plenty of other ID + credit cards & where I live in Sydneys Northern Beaches. I was absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated by a staff member who is younger than my daughter.
Don't judge a book by its cover & its your loss not mine.
Mind you I stay at another local hotel all the time and never ever get asked for ID as they no me and I no one of the part owners who also part owns the Bayview.
I have always left the room in excellent condition as I do at the other hotel. Its is apalling that I was treated like this by a bar staff.
Next time I have a few days off work I will always stay at the other hotel as I'm a valued client of there's.

I had made an online booking for 2 nights in a basic room with shared bathroom and made total payment with my credit card. When the day came round to check in to the hotel I was concerned when the lady had told me there is no record of my booking. Luckily I had kept the confirmation email and showed it to the lady. The lady was very apologetic and told me all the rooms had been booked out so she will be upgrading me to a room with ensuite. In the end I was very happy with the service all round. Will be back.
