Recent disappointing dining experience.
Have been enjoying meals here for years especially with deals on nights for members.
However that has all changed as has meal quality.
No rush to return.
Will try again next year and hope quality returns
have been going to this pub for many years the food is always very high quality and the service is always good you can sit inside or outside in their beautiful beer garden
This hotel is the best on the Bellarine peninsula the food is amazing & the staff very friendly such a lovely atmosphere in there lovely beer garden will always come back here been coming here for 16 years now
i have been going to this hotel for years and its my favorite hotel on the bellarine peninsula...it has a lovely beer garden overlooking the barwon river ,the food is great ...a little more expensive than some other hotels but it is great value for money...it offers tab facilities and pokies, they regularly have live bands playing too..
Not a bad pub but not a great one that you want to go back to all the time. Agree with one of the reviews that it could be a great summer pub with a big outdoor area, a few wood bench tables instead of the plastic table and chairs they have wouldnt hurt. Fairly good menu and a TAB and pokies it has something for everyone. Side bar is a good one to watch sport and have a drink but if its busy not much room.
This place could be so much more. Think Portsea Pub, Cottesloe Beach Hotel, Beach Hotel in byron - well this place isn't it. Meals are ok but def nothing special. Drinks are overpriced for what they are - terrible tasting beer (clean the lines!) in a plastic glass on a sat night. Could be amazing, with the room they've got, basically a captured market and potential views, but seems like management don't really care about their customers, more about serving you drinks until you fall down (ie. to get the most out of your wallet and who cares how many fights there are on a sat night) then having security clean up the mess. Give it a miss, there's nicer places to go for a drink/eats in town.
Approximate cost: $25
The Barwon Heads pub is not what it used to be, but the food is still what you would expect from a pub, tasty but doesn't blow your socks off. On a Saturday night if they're turning it into 'disco pub' you might get asked to pay an entry fee after 10pm when the bouncers take over and the kids enter. After this the pub turns into a bit of a trash fest, and usually ends when all hell breaks loose in a fight. Only for those that are committed to making it a good night!
Approximate cost: $25
Great range of choices but standard pub food with a great location and reasonable drink prices. Very family friendly and meals are served quickly so good for hungry kids. M
The place was very busy when I went here over the long weekend and we were lucky to get a table as they don't take bookings for after 7pm.
We went up to the counter to order our meals and they were brought out to the table 15 minutes later!!
The meals were quite large and everyone on our table was happy with their meals.
The outdoor seating area was well set out however the weather wasn't nice when we went so we had to eat inside.
Approximate cost: $23
They provide a beautiful range of indoor/ outdoor seating to match any weather or occasion and the menu is utterly delicious.
