went here for a conference, so booked one of the rooms, the collins room which was very nice and opulent & light and airy

staff were friendly and the place was easy to get to (the entrance out front southern cross doesn't work, which was a bit confusing)

My wife and I stayed here recently for a couple of nights to attend an AFL match at nearby Etihad Stadium. We arrived quite late (after midnight) as we were on the last flight out of Hobart at 10pm and then had to bus it in from the Airport.

Upon arrival we were greeted and efficiently checked in by Adam (at least that's what the reception staff on the following morning said his name was as I was just too tired to notice a name badge) who got us organised in good time and off to our room.

Once we got to our room we were shocked to see that we'd been allocated a Twin room, not the Queen room that we generally book whenever we're staying anywhere. After checking the paperwork, I discovered the mistake was made when we made the booking. Possibly my wife's error, but more likely mine so I'll take the heat for that.

I headed back down to the lobby to see Adam (it was now approaching 1am) about the possibility of changing rooms to a Queen. Being a long weekend, we were told that unfortunately they were fully booked for the two nights of our stay. No worries, my mistake, I'll just have a cup of concrete, harden up and deal with it. This is where Adam exceeded all expectations. He offerred to get housekeeping up to the room at that ridiculous hour to join the twin beds into a queen and remake the bed. Service above and beyond the call of duty and all our expectations.

The chap from housekeeping was up to the room in quick time and had the bed joined and remade in a matter of minutes allowing us to get some some much needed shut-eye.

The room itself was a bit on the small side, but we didn't spend much time in it so it wasn't really an issue. The walls were also pretty thin and we had a couple of loud talkers next door (thankfully that's all they were doing).

Location wise the hotel was great. Directly across the road from Southern Cross Station where the Skybus departs to and from the Airport, as well as being within walking distance to Etihad Stadium so there was no crushed train platforms or expensive taxis before and after the footy.

Even taking the location perks out of the equation, based purely on the level of service provided by Adam, I would happily stay at the Vibe Savoy again.

We live in Melbourne but we were attending an event in the city that we knew would finish quite late so we decided to book a hotel room and stay overnight rather than drive home. We did a search for hotels in Melbourne and this was one of the results that came up. We found the price to be reasonable ($150 for one night in a King room) so we decided to book it. The online booking system on their website was clear and easy to use.

The foyer of the hotel is clean and stylish. We were checked into our room by a friendly clerk quickly and without any issues. Our room (#717) was clean and nicely decorated. It was a little small, but for our purposes, this wasn't a problem (anyone requiring to stay for a longer period of time may want a bigger room). It had all the amenities we required (good quality iron and ironing board, etc) and the bed was really quite comfortable!

Check-out was just as quick and easy as check-in. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant, or use the minibar or room service, so I cannot comment on that.

We found the hotel to be reasonably priced, comfortable and in a really good location (opposite Southern Cross Station, with a tram stop right outside). Recommended if you're after a nice place to stay in the city that won't break the bank.
