went here for a university sience ball, heaps of space around for photos and dj to set up, seating's quite smart with focus on the middle of the ballroom for dancing

toilets become a bit disgusting after a while, and food was quite meh though

the venue doesn't just take weddings - went here for a uni event (engineering ball) and it wasn't too bad

bar was placed conveniently close to our table, security was superb and i absolutely loved the amount of space for dancing - so it was pretty roomy given the amount of students that attended

cons would be: food could have been better, and wasn't a big fan of the toilets though

My sister had her wedding here in 2006 and I am surprised by the ratings. Management was very accommodating to the special dietary requests we had. They also went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. It is an old reception centre, so there are going to be areas which need to be fixed up. But it does add to the old style look and feel of the place. It has a spacious dance floor and easily accommodated for the 300 guests. A few months later someone else we knew also had their wedding there and again it was fantastic.

The stench from the Men's toilets wafts through half the ballroom. Chairs looked tattered, and several utensils and glasses found on table were not clean. Food very average. Overall, substandard and a rip-off.

In the last 6 years, having attended about 35 weddings, this reception would rate highly. From memory, the exterior wasn't too bad looking. The inside, very typically with brown carpet in the foyer. The food wasn't great either. Sorry:(
