STA Travel is a really good place to go to especially for students! They have special student fares in Malaysia Airlines and I was able to keep changing dates without any penalties. The staff was friendly and they replied their email really efficiently.

we booked to go overseas through this company and they did'nt advise that we needed re entry visa.s to get back into australia. Told us that our flight was domestic from adelaide and when we arrived we had missed our flight because it was an international flight and we should have been there a lot earlier. also our accom was meant to have free breakfast and they did'nt. seems when they have your money they don't care about anything else.

I worked as a camp counsellor in the u.s this year and found the online service to be very useful. It was easy to use, and no hassle to change plans once in the u.s.

Booked a trip to Europe for two. The website was user friendly and the process easy. I had to make some changes at a later date and the phone staff were very helpful.

We got some really good help from the travel agent and she put us onto our local sta office, although some details she took down weren't accurate, she didn't take much care in correcting details. Although it was cheaper booking with them, so well worth the issues.

Amazing website, the search engine and round the world feature is amazing however the price I was given was so much higher than when i actually visited STA's melbourne store! i thought things were meant to be cheaper online!

My boyfriend and me booked a couple of flights from this website because they were slightly cheaper than other sites (e.g. the airlines' websites). If I had known of the difficulties that we encountered prior to booking though I would have paid the extra $100 to book with a different company.
When I made my booking, I did not receive my confirmation email properly and had to contact the company. In turn, they essentially made another manual booking for me and sent me a replacement confirmation email. However, this new confirmation was missing my booking reference that I needed to retrieve my booking from the airline and when I asked them for it, they never gave it to me. To make things worse, both me and boyfriend never received our e-tickets that were supposed to be automatically emailed to us. Then, one week before we were meant to fly out, we checked our bookings online and discovered that the status of both of our flights was "CANCELLED". We once again had to contact them to find out what had happened and rectify the problem. Eventually, we managed to get our e-tickets a few days before our flight but never received even a hint of an apology or regret concerning the problems. Had we not had the initiative to check our booking status online, we probably would have gone to the airport and been turned away because our flights were unknowingly cancelled.
I regularly book flights and accomodation online but this is the first time I have ever had a problem with online reservations.
I will avoid STA online at all costs from now on and do not recommend it to anyone.
