I have been here quite a few times and it is great place to go to get a tonne of cheap second hand books. it is very popular so get there early and be prepared to spend a good few hours sorting through all of the tables for your favourite and even new interesting books. I always go to the unpriced area and end up with a few bags of books for under $30, A great place to get kids books cheap. Make sure you take a bag or trolley to carry your treasure.

First time ever at the Lifeline Bookfest at the Convention & Exhibition Centre at South Brisbane yesterday (Saturday) - Wow! what an amazing selection of 2nd hand books, dvd's, cd's and even board games - there's a $1 section, $2.50 section and more expensive section eg. $5 per book. I didn't go looking for anything in particular, but left with 3 shopping bags full of books - entire Michael Connelly collection of "Harry Bosch" novels + other authors. Most rewarding thing is that once I've finished reading them I can re-donate back to Lifeline for someone else to enjoy. Very well organised - they have trolleys - a hint though is to bring your own shopping bags/pull-along cart as once you get in there you need it! I've learnt that valuable lesson - haha! Can't wait 'til the next one - I believe they are held every 6 months - wonderful day and money well spent!
