This place is a little humble in my opinion. I originally found this when my usual Indian favourite changed hands and the quality took a dive. The first thing I noticed here other than the fact that it's billed as an "Indian and Italian" restaurant, was that with each dish, you could taste the distinctive flavours, the Vindaloo didn't taste like the Madras or the Makhani! All the delicate flavours shine through even when you ask them for "f$@king hot", sure your head will turn purple, but you'll still be able to taste it and say "YUM!". Normally I'm hitting the Vindaloo and throwing in some insults to incite revenge from the chef for a bit of extra heat - but last night I tried the Goa Fish Curry - can these guys do no wrong?! I loved it! The mango lassis are awesome too with a little nut garnish on the top which I thought was special. Haven't tried the Italian food here yet, but that's more for your non-Indian-eating friends so they can't complain when you drag them out for Indian food yet again! We spent $72 for 3 people which covered a wine, 2 mango lassi, 3 mains, 2 garlic naans, 2 saffron rice. It was very quiet and unhurried on the Wednesday night.

We love going to Bistro 309 - its value for money, the curry has never disappointed and service is excellent. Whether its a party or intimate dinner for two - Bistro 309 should be your first choice

Being an Indian food lover, I was curious how a combination of Indian and Italian could work... The menu is impressive with all you would expect from both Indian and Italian. The food and service is good without being overwhelming and the value for money is reasonable. I will doubtless go again. So far, we have only tried the Indian food, so the Italian food quality is unknown. Cost about $45 for two and licenced for BYO. May 2014 - we have been back on several occasions since 2011 and have not been disappointed. It is a pleasant place to eat and the food is excellent.

I was very skeptical eating here as it is an Indian and Italian restaurant. Although we have not eaten Italian here, the quality of the Indian food is excellent and the service is good. The Samosas are crispy and tasty, the tandoori chicken is tender and juicy and the curries tasty.

This restaurant is really small and you are pretty much dining with the people on the table next to you, but the food is really good. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is served pretty quickly which is good if you are in a hurry. You really need to book a table in advance.
