Parking is a bit of a nuisance in this location but it's worth a visit since the instructors are seasoned experts. So glad that it's also authentically Bikram rather than the other express versions. Great space and venue too.

How good is Bikram yoga in the winter!. I completed the 7 day $19 offer some months ago now and have attended this studio several times when in Melbourne. The studio is a really lovely large size but I agree, it can get a little crowded. Great location... not much in the way of parking on Johnston st though. Give it a go, It's a nice change from regular yoga.

I first attended BYF after i'd been practicing bikram yoga for quite a while. The first thing that struck me was how friendly and welcoming the owners (Michael and Susan) were. The studio has a slightly hippy vibe for a bikram studio, which is in keeping with its Fitzroy location. What i really like about it is the large size of the studio, the amazingly consistent heat, the excellent supply of fresh, oxygenated air in the studio, and the scrupulous attention to carpet cleaning (very important in a hot sweaty environment like that!).

that's a big plus having clean carpets! i would hate to do yoga in a place where there's dirt everywhere & it's really stuffy xx

I decided to try bikram (hot) yoga a few weeks ago and have been back several times since. It's a really challenging workout - be prepared to sweat a lot. Have been at different times of the day, and with different instructors, all of whom are very good at explaining what to do. It's worth trying and there is a 7 day for $19 offer, so you can see if the times suit etc. 6pm classes seem very popular and get crowded in the studio and in the showers.

You were lucky, my experience here was not so good. I had an appointment and had to leave 10min early and before starting the session I was told it was okay, but when I had to go they made a big deal about letting me out as they lock you in. I also have a medical condition in which I might have to leave the room once throughout a session, when I did exit I received a lecture from someone who worked there just out side the door (I was considerate and got there early enough to make sure I had a door position). And just to add to it, you don't wear shoes yet the floor was filthy, eeewh

might look into that offer, seems like a good deal for someone who hasn't tried bikram yoga before xx
