Thought it would be something special, but was pretty mediocre. Have often walked past and thought it looked nice, but unfortunately the food did not live up to appearances.

This review is for Blue Ginger, Balmain NSW

I love Blue Ginger! One of my favourite places to dine. Nice cosy atmosphere and can get quiet even on weekdays. I recommend it to anyone wanting good quality indian food. Do expect to pay a little more than usual, but mostly well worth it for consistent, good quality food.

Curries are delicious and not oily like in other places. If you feel like trying something new I would recommend trying it a Blue Ginger. Recommend their Lamb cutlet entree.

Service is friendly and efficient most of the time. A long time ago we had a bad night and the staff did not seem too apologetic, but we have been back since, and have never had a repeat of this bad service. Can get quite busy and recommend making a reservation on weekends.

Tasty steak (and delicious pepper sauce), with an option for smaller portions for those of us with a smaller appetite or who want to save room for dessert. Modern wood decor with red trimmings and option of eating indoors or on the deck. Both times I have eaten here in the evenings it has been packed. Prices could be cheaper for an isolated location.

I dont like ebay I found that you dont make much profit and any profit made goes directly to ebay or paypal fees. Also when you have a problem i find that they give you an email generated response.

Two visits to Catalina and also discussed with a few friends about the overall experience here.

1. Fantastic location, brilliant view and pleasant fit-out with linen cloths and comfortable chairs.
2. Great food, equivalent to the one hat status.
3. The service was very attentive, the atmosphere perfect, and food delicious.

This review is for Pancakes On The Rocks, The Rocks NSW

verified email - 08 Jul 2008

Pancakes on the Rocks is the best place to go, especially now it's open 24 hours a day. And it's not just Pancake desserts! There's pizza, steak, crepes, breakfasts and all are available all the time!
The service isn't too bad, but that seems to be a trend these days with these 24 hour places. However, the food is definitely worth waiting for. The serves were HUGE, especially at an average of $13.
It's situated at the Rocks right under the Harbour Bridge so after dinner you can go for a walk along the water which is the perfect thing to do on a nice evening when your tummies are stuffed full!

Approximate cost: $13.00

This review is for Star Of Thailand Restaurant, Gladesville NSW

What a great restaurant it is now since the refurb. The food here has always been excellent but now the ambience matches the food. For food & service it is a stand out in the area, and well worth a visit. Be prepared for a bit of noise, which seems normal for Thai restaurant these days, but if going for lunch or early evening, ask for a table out the back!

This review is for Waterfront Restaurant, The Rocks NSW

verified email - 08 Jul 2008

Have been to Waterfront at least 10 times and as you would expect, this place has a fantastic view, with options to sit outside or inside. On this occasion, we were seated indoors, but next to a large window which offered expansive views of the harbour. The waitstaff were quite attentive, but service levels did seem to drop as the day went on. The quality of the food is of the standards you would expect from this place, high quality and the serving sizes were quite generous.

This review is for Aria Restaurant, Sydney NSW

Drawn by the hype and the spectacular location, my husband and i dined at Aria for his birthday. We were seated comfortably at a table with an excellent view of the Bridge and the Opera House. The wait staff were very professional, helpful and friendly.

The food was a big disappointment. I ordered the oysters for entree which were served with a "vichyssoise mousse" which tasted like French onion dip and completely overpowered the flavour of the oysters. The mushroom sauce on the steak main was so salty I could barely finish my meal. My partner had a more pleasant experience with the Hapuka fish main but commented that it was nothing spectacular. Despite the excellent service it was overall a very disappointing experience. I won't be going back.
