Went to Cardens for the first time for a birthday. The restaurant was very quiet and didn't really seem like it was the appropriate place to have dinner with a "loud" group (which is fair enough). I had the Captain Platter, which had Morton Bay bugs, prawns, fish & calamari in a tomato-y sauce. The seafood was cooked perfectly and I particularly enjoyed the bugs. Overall, it was a good experience, but the atmosphere seemed like it would suit a more intimate dining experience (It was just too quiet..)

This place has the best grilled corn! I've been here twice - the first time was for a friend's birthday and we had a group booking (more than 8 people), so we had to go on the set menu - 6 or 7 courses/dishes, which was approx. $40/head.

6-7 courses sounds a lot, but some of the meals are quite small - they brought out a board of corn chips with an amazing topping on it, but we all just had 1 chip.
The main was chicken, rice and salad to share, which was amazing. The chicken was very tender and had heaps of flavour.

Given the price of the set menu, I'd rather go with a smaller group and each order a main, for around $30. The only issue with a smaller group is that you'll probably have to wait for over an hour for a table (if you're going there for dinner on a Friday or Saturday). The second time I came here (Had the goat; it was cooked to perfection - it just melted in my mouth!), we had to wait for over 1.5 hours. But once a table was free, they also gave us each a free glass of sangria, which was very nice!

Would love to come here more regularly, but the wait can be very annoying. I would still recommend them to anyone looking for a Mexican Restaurant in the CBD.

Approximate cost: $30

Went here for the first time on the weekend with a friend. Order the gnocchi and it was pretty good. Thought the gnocchi was a bit soft and powdery - but loved the flavours. It was a creamy sauce but they added sun-dried tomato in it, which gave it a real zing. Thought the service was a bit substandard though. We weren't greeted when we came in (the place was basically empty so there wasn't a rush of tables to serve) and when we went to pay, they took our money and then walked away without saying anything. Probably won't go back, unless every other place around Glenny is full.

Went here over the weekend after seeing their fantastic reviews on WOMOW. Food was great. My friend and I shared a hot dog, mini slider burgers and the chili fries. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Reece's Pieces thick shake. The best thick shakes I've had ever! I love the little crunchy bits in the shake! Will definitely be back!

I have been looking for a new hairdresser for a while and I've been to other Rokk Ebony salons and I thought they were a bit average given the price. But based on the reviews on WOMOW, I thought I'd give Rokk Ebony in Mentone a try. And the reviews were right - Loved the place. The hairdresser (unfortunately I forgot her name! but she's the head stylist at the salon) was fantastic. I didn't ask for anything extravagant, just a simple cut but I really wanted to get rid of some of the weight (I have a lot of hair & thick hair). The end result was fantastic. I've asked for similar things at other hairdressers, but the outcome here was a lot different - a lot better! I've been really happy with the cut ever since! Will definitely come back to the salon!

Went here for a friend's birthday. It was a group booking so we were having their banquet, which is $70/head. Thought it was a bit much, but by the end of it, it was absolutely worth it!

For the banquet, you just tell the waiter if you have any specific requirements and they chef will organise the menu for you (E.g my friend doesn't eat chicken or duck, so our banquet didn't consist of that, and we requested to try the Son in Law eggs - the rest they just decided) Loved it all! My favourite dishes were the Son in Law eggs and the wagyu - The wagyu was cooked perfectly! Really loved their snapper and the curry was great as well.

For dessert, we had 3 plates with 5 different desserts on them. Very tasty, but we didn't finish it all because we were all absolutely stuffed.

The banquet price might deter a couple of people, but the sharing-style makes it really fun. Loved the decor of the restaurant. Will definitely go back. Great service and fantastic food!

First place my friends and I went to after landing in the Gold Coast. It was fantastic. Quite a small place and I'm sure we walked straight passed it the first time. It's a little cafe hidden away next to a pharmacy. We ordered the big brekky, muesli and crepes. The crepes weren't made to order, but it was still very tasty. Reasonably priced and the service was pretty quick.
It was so good that it was the last place we went to before heading to the airport back to Melbourne. There's quite a lot of restaurants down Tedder Ave, so if you've book accommodation around Main Beach, definitely pop down to this little cafe.

Love the Pub at Crown. Decent, hearty food for a very good price. Unlike a lot of restaurants, you have to go up to the bar to order your meal and pay in advance. I don't have a problem with that really, because their service is pretty good. I guess it's only an issue if you're not sure if you feel like dessert or another coffee afterwards. Had the roast pork the last time I was here and it was delicious. It's a shame that it's all the way in the city 'cause it just means I don't go as often as I'd like. Very relaxed atmosphere and a great place to eat if you're in Crown and don't wanna fork out a lot of $ for a decent meal.

If you're heading to Coco Lounge for a bite, you definitely need to try their beef burger. It's probably the best burger I've ever had! It's fresh and very filling & comes with a side of fat chips. Their sticky date is usually very good, though sometimes that can be a hit and a miss. It's unfortunate that they don't seat that many people - they're always busy when I'm in Glenny.

One of best places to go and have a few drinks with friends. Services is good and the drink prices are great! The bathroom is quite spacious (unlike other bars) which is always a plus! The tapas are really delicious as well, though I think it's kind of pricey - I had 2 springrolls for $6. But if you're just having a few drinks, this is definitely the place!

Great place for after work drinks in Melbourne. Lots of tables available and relaxed atmosphere.
