Trashy/grunge style place, typical of Chapel st nowadays. Never seen this place crowded! Been there a few times and it just lacked energy. Two girls run the joint day and night. I hear they're always looking for new staff, can't seem to keep em, wonder why?

Never saw much life inside this drab little cafe, now I know why. Their croissant is the most pathetic, dry, tasteless husk of pastry ever imagined. The coffee tasted like bathwater. Owner was unapologetic and threatening.

Small, dark, moody atmosphere, young owner, decent vibe but there's always somewhere better. A bit of confusion during functions re food and sound control; they don't have a kitchen so it has to be delivered and we could barely hear the speech in the other room over the music.

my friends like this place and so do i. lots of vegan options! "fish, calamari and prawns"! friendly staff. wait time was a bit longer than i would of like but oh well

hopeless and rude staff. a staff member processed a refund as a debit from my account, twice, and she said she'd worked there for a year! don't count on them refunding you though - they don't stand by their products or freshness. they have a ridiculous policy where you have to notify them within a few days and even then it's subjective. for people who don't know thomas dux is owned by woolworths. everything in this store is excessively marked up. even their organic produce is a failure - $6 for a limp and dead organic kale haha.

very unhelpful customer service. they don't value individual customers here they only value businesses. and that is definitely the majority of their income. ordinarily stock rooms are concealed to the public but this not the case with basfoods. range is not as varied as one might expect, and sometimes not cheaper either. surprisingly they had a section with fresh fruits & vegetables.

they don't open until 12pm. they are closed on a monday. the fruit flavoured gelati are dairy free. medium cup was ~6 for up to 4 flavours. bit sweet for my taste but still enjoyable.

~65-75c canned tomatoes and beans 400g, ~2.25 marinated artichoke 360g, ~3.30 dried figs 500g. selection of olives (pantry) wasn't very good. no sicilian olives? olive oil was more expensive (example carbonell ~22). one brand of pasta was cheap at 85c but the rest were expensive. couldn't find grape/vine leaves. expected this place to be much larger than it was. there was limited car parking around the side off victoria st. i could imagine it being full on a busy day.

horrible car parking in crack head alley. couldn't get a spot. everywhere looked like a crack den. disgusting. dirty. stains even on the linen! overpriced. ancient air conditioner made alot of noise unsure if it did anything else. got a refund (minus the booking fee) and slept in my car instead!

charge $1 per cut. it used to be free! it would of cost more to cut my wood than the wood itself! i guess it's too bad if i'm not a tradie or someone with the equipment/ tools to do it myself. store layout is messy and unorganised.
