Great concept! Great affordable desserts with a lively atmosphere; always busy but with good reason!! When in groups, always have one person reseve a table..it specialises in Taiwanese desserts - they are most famous for Taro Balls, Tofu Dessert and Grass Jelly! The best is the mix and match where you can try many things at once.

very authentic taiwan food,One of the best deals on the menu is a big iced tea you can order for an additional $2 if you order a bento, noodle or shabu shabu. On such a hot night, we could have had a jug each. The passionfruit green tea is super sweet and fruity, and Shawn's lemon yakult tea has a tangy zippy ting.

The wait for Yumcha was horrendous. The decor is old and the chairs are shabby and the floor space is huge. The food is just good and the price is reasonable as well. The service is as any Yumcha place... not great but then again, that's pretty normal.

I'm Chinese and love yumcha. Just rating the food: Great yumcha. This restaurant had a brand new and stuning innovation and the food is tasty. Gone are the days of the all-you-can eat yumcha. Unusual but delicious prawn and scallps dumplings and standard favourites har gau and siu mai make a good meal

Excellent place for trying Taiwanese desserts. Especially like their xiancao and shaved ice combos. The portions are quite large, so in the summer time I would sometimes just eat this for lunch.

Had a very memorable dinner here, the food was great, the service was very fast and the atmosphere was very peaceful (which was surprising given the location and the night). My experience was very refreshing as I tend to find that some restaurants in the city are either overcrowded or the staff are just rude which is a turn off. Definitely coming back again! Hopefully next time is more of the same!

If you want the best yakiniku in Sydney, then this is it. While a little more costly than it's sister Kohya in Neutral Bay, the charcoal cooking gives it the win. If you're not fussed with paying a little more for some of the most authentic Japanese food in Sydney, then this is your place. Great atmosphere and nice staff, too. Oh, and to the people complaining about smoke, if you don't like smoke, don't go for yakiniku. Highly, seriously recommended.

This review is for Menya Mappen, Sydney NSW

Mappen is the relative newcomer around here, from the people at Menya Noodle Bar. This little restaurant, inside the Skyview Plaza, looks like a little piece straight out of Japan. It's all communal tables with customers slurping noodles next to each other amid old school movie posters and decorations that take me right back to the earlier Japanese movie.

The concept is self-serve udon, soba and tempura as well as a couple of rice options. The cafeteria style, shifting along with a tray, is pure novelty to me, but when faced with a full queue, it's not a particularly speedy way of getting to the register to pay. The line is also held up when tempura sauce or miso soup spillages happen.

Excellent food and great value for money. Service is patchy - sometimes quick and attentive, at other times struggled to get their attention. No real ambience, but the fact that each table is cooking means that there is a hub-bub which is nice to have.

Their filet mignon is phenomenal! It literally melts in your mouth. At least it seems like it does it is that good! They bring it out to you on an extremely hot plate that is sizzling and keeps the steak warm and the juices inside the meat. The serve the side items for you when they bring the food to the table, definately a class act. That's what really sets them apart. The Service
