We sat outside and the service came out to us. I ordered the special of the day after Amber described the swordfish. I have never tasted this fish. The Kent Hotel change their menu often and lucky for me this was the last day for swordfish on a bed of uniquely presented vegetables. Thankfully I explained my allergies because I noticed a slight change in my order. One of the waiters came to explain the change to my dish and WOW delicious. This dish was not the usual fish and veg. The flavours were subtle and I couldn't share the plate with my husband. He ordered fettucine marinara and oh my God this had fresh seafood! The absolutely the best tasting I have ever tasted - it could have had a secret ingredient but I couldn't work it out. Was it the olive oil or herb?

I was referred to Brett of Australian Shield Furniture Removals at a last minute decision and what a great service. Brett knows his business. Professionalism is high in my books. He carried out the selective house removal quietly and efficiently. Asking me about items I hadn't had time to pack which was more than ½ the move.
He kindly returned when it was discovered I had forgotten furniture and packed boxes.
I felt I could trust Brett and was able to grumble with a sympathetic ear. So all I can recommend is go with your instinct first and book the mover who can deliver without complaining.
My husband and I went to St.Kilda a found a cute small shop with plenty of manchester. The difference is they source the basic wool and cotton from Australia then make futon mattresses. Anne had so much knowledge from different fillings to added protection to informing us about the the effect of dampness on the futon mattress. We were amazed and needed someone to talk to and educate us at the same time. Please ring them first before you try anywhere else.

I have food allergies so I asked chef to share his secret to bind the burger without eat and HE told me. Straight out delicious.
I love sourdough bread and this burger was one of the best. The goumet variety made choosing difficult. I hate so much choice. Well between the two of us we had to leave the chips because it was all too much. Well next time I'm up north I will pop in and not go around Albury.

This place might be old yet when you open your room door the place does NOT smell. It is so roomy. I had a great night sleep because the bed was comfy and soft. Yes it is clean.

We stayed in apartment 3. Fully serviced split level rooms.
Beautiful scenery of the yarra valley and vineyard.
warm and inviting. 2 other guests in the next apartments-wouldn't know they were there. Clean and comfortable and the kitchen was a delight to use. Thank you Phil for showing us a great time during our mid week break.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out the back of nowhere a cafe of such high standards. Firstly I thought the food prices were too expensive for a cafe then I realized the attention to detail of the chefs cooking and menu. I have many food allergies and they were kind enough to make me a salad with steamed vegetables the way I like them..together. My husband ordered lambs brains. We had a great time and it was worth the trip into this cafe (should be a restaurant).

We were passing through to Canberra looking for "white port".
Not many wineries around actually do make it. So we had the quickest tastings of 6 wines and port. Delicous Shiraz + Durif. and yes the white port was warming but then I tasted the Muscat.....I was in heaven by lunch time.

I turned up exhausted and found out thatsome of the accommodations in Gundagai were flooded out in Jan/Feb 2012.
I asked to see some rooms and were fortunate to find that the rooms were very clean, yes basic though no smells. No sounds from outside or the adjoining rooms. the bathroom was spoiltless! I'd stay there again.

With food allergies you have to be careful to staff understand and communicate this with the chef. They did and I can't wait to travel over to the east side of Melbourne to try out the food again. My husband and I swapped meals for a taste, yum. I was mostly intrigued in the old pub feel and especially the talents of a local artist with her different styles of paintings on the walls.
