Made 590 is an awesome little shop that carries some great labels ... in particular Surface Art which is a personal favourite. If I'm ever looking for a special gift for a friend then this is my first stop, with gorgeous bags, super cute accessories & even stuff for kids you can't go wrong here.
The girls at Pelo are the best hairdressers in Newtown. They over 20 years experience between them & they won't let you leave the salon unless they are 100% happy with the result. Bookings are essential as they are always busy.
I absolutely LOVE the Pastizzi Cafe. The chicken & mushroom pastizzis are the best ... but you really can't go wrong with any flavour. Plus if you sit down & have a pasta I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. It's always super busy & has a great atmosphere. A late night stop for a white hot chocolate is a treat too!
great place to rummage if you've got a handy project coming up or if you're looking for some inspiration. It's fun trawling through the big bins, perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Oh man ... how good is Addison Rd? It is ALWAYS so busy ... the phone doesn't stop when you get there to pick up your take away ... it doesn't need to be a restaurant because it's the perfect take out chinese. The squid entree is to die for! So cheap but so tasty!
Approximate cost: $8
This is the closest Thai to my home in Newtown so I'm biased ... but it's never fails to satisfy my hunger with great panang curry & fish cakes! Quick service & a good selection of dishes.
Approximate cost: $9
Alberto is so friendly & it's lovely to actually meet the man the restaurant is named after. Pizzas are great & full of flavour, pastas are homestyle & definitely fill you up. A perfect late night pitstop on the way home from the pub!
Approximate cost: $10+
Heading down the stairs to the lower level of Pure Botanicals is like walking into a space made solely for your relaxation. The soft lighting immediately calms your senses & sets the scene for a beautiful treatment. Professional & friendly therapists make this experience one that you'll want to repeat regularly.
Approximate cost: $approx $80
I love visiting Nature's Energy in Glebe ... even if just for a half hour spa in their divine private outdoor retreat. They have great therapists & offer a wide range of modalities. Their shop is also fantastic for finding a treat for yourself or a friend.
Approximate cost: $17+
Love Miss Luck carries a great range of super cool accessories ... gorgeous leather bags, vintage sunnies & jewellery, cute purses in lots of colours, belts, shoes & more! They also have some great clothes that you will absolutely love. Well worth a visit to the south side :)
