I have eaten here, or takeaway a number of times now, and their quality is always exceptional. Very busy at lunch time - so you are wise to pre-order, but a quick meal on a Friday night - this is the place to go. Wonderful flavours, freshest produce and you walk out feeling satisfied!

This review is for Sam Coco Trading, Annerley QLD

verified email - 21 Jun 2013

Sam Coco has been trading around Brisbane for many years - and his store at Annerley offers great value for money and variety, not only on fruit and veges, but everyday grocery items and imported "speciality" items to suit a diverse culinary market.

His specials each week are GREAT value for money, and his prices are cheaper than many others, including the major supermarkets.

Worth a visit to pick up the special alone - but I am sure you might just leave with a box full of everyday items too!

Approximate cost: $50

Tony came to help my oven which was having troubles.
He was on time (early in fact) very knowledgeable, and made some quick repairs - and I am all ready to bake again.

Much cheaper than some larger companies for call out and hourly rates - I have no hesitation in recommending Tony for your repairs, or other appliances or electrical work!

I have visited Fastners Direct on numerous occasions to buy screws, nails and other hardware for home projects, like building a fence, stairs and carport.

They have a huge range, can get in special orders and have superb prices compared to the big "multinational" hardware stores.

I would recommenced to anyone to try them out if you are doing a DIY Project, or bigger - their products are first class.

This review is for Value Depot, Eagle Farm QLD

verified email - 02 May 2013

My wife and I went last weekend to the new Value Depot store at Eagle Farm. As old customers of Campbells Warehouse, we had some idea of what to expect, but all our expectations were exceeded.

The range was bigger, the prices were all great - with the special outstanding.

The staff were amazing - in all levels of their experience and knowledge.

Well Organised into the large isles, it is accessible from just about everywhere.

Clean - stress-free and efficient.

Join and make the effort to check it out!

This review is for Ovenu - The Oven Cleaning People, Perth WA

Had my 12 year old oven cleaned by Don yesterday after emailing OvenU on Monday - they got back to me quickly with a quote and I booked in straight away.

Whilst the price seems expensive, given there were no fumes and the oven really does look like new, and I didn't have to lift a finger, you can't go past this service. I have a big oven, so the cost is a little more than a standard oven. Cost all up for me was $170

If I had to do this, it would have taken me all day, with caustic cleaners....

This review is for The Boatshed Restaurant, Toowong QLD

verified email - 03 Feb 2013

This was our second visit to the Boatshed, the first being for my wife's birthday last November, for which we would definitely give a 9.5/10 - it was the best dining out experience in many year,
However, this time, February 2013, the experience did not live up to the benchmark set only three months prior.
The restaurant was humming as you would expect on a Saturday night, and we had booked earlier in the week to ensure our table of five guests. We had suggested to our friends this venue because of such a wonderful experience previously, but when the food arrived, things started to head downhill.
Two tables that had arrived after us received their food prior to us, even though we did not order entrees.
Two of three steaks (all dry aged) were overcooked, one of them coning with chips even though they were specifically not ordered. The steak that was cooked as requested was inconsistent in flavour, which was very puzzling.
The Pea Risotto was severely over seasoned, as was a side order of mixed grilled mushrooms – spoiling what would have been very lovely mushrooms.
The Crumbed Veal on the other had was flavourless and soggy (though when ordered in November by the same person it was exceptional).
Finally, in a venue that is very loud at the best of times, surely the need for music is not warranted, and the atmosphere could be greatly enhanced by turning it off completely.
Sorry Boatshed, this was not an enjoyable experience whatsoever, and if it was not for wonderful company, the night would have been a disaster.

A real cut above the other major hardware store now far away. The store is very well laid out, the staff looking to help you, not avoid you, and their prices are extremely competitive. Garden Centre plants could be better, but I recon just give them time!

This review is for Pennisi Cuisine, Woolloongabba QLD

verified email - 30 Jan 2012

Pennisi Cuisine has been at this location for so many years, and their loyal following is unprecedented.

I have been buying goods from them for about 12 years now, and their range of products leaves big commercial deli's for dead!

Unlike a supermarket, you will always get a surprise as to "what is new today"? Their small goods come from all over, but the items they bring up from Rodriguez Brothers in Sydney are as good as you can get anywhere in the world.

Their prices do not gouge, and are a fair reflection of what it costs to bring in goods from around Australia and the world.

Great place to visit for the budding chefs (no - not master chefs or MKR's wanna be's).

Don't visit on Saturday morning - that is when everyone else goes too! Go during the week, and pop up the road and enjoy a pastry and coffee at Banneton!

Approximate cost: $2 - $300

This review is for Uncle Bobs Bakery, Belmont QLD

verified email - 30 Jan 2012

Passion for baking the finest goods oozes out of everything you can buy at Uncle Bob's. From the sourdough breads to the pastries (using Belgium Butter) to the pies, tarts, lamingtons (the best bought ones I have ever had) and now the macarons!

Sure - you pay a little more than at some bakeries and supermarkets (where the stuff looks like bread.... but may as well be a clarinet!) but this is the real deal. Flour, Yeast, Salt, Water... that is what goes into bread....

Yeah! for a bakery that doesn't use pre-mix!

Like them on Facebook to get updates on when the breads are fresh out of the oven!

Thanks Uncle Bob's!

Approximate cost: $2 - $10
