This review is for Cherry Blossom Sushi, Southgate Plaza, Morphett Vale SA

Acceptable sushi, staff very average to poor - they give the impression that they would prefer to be elsewhere - value for money if on the higher end of the scale.

Perfectly acceptable for a quick snack on the go, but we go elsewhere for a good meal of sushi.

We love sushi and have tried heaps of places and I have to say, YO YO GI JAPANESE NOODLE BOX SUSHI BAR is honestly the Best we have found so far in Adelaide.

Staff are incredibly friendly, fantastic value and superb food! All thanks to them, our food fussy daughter now begs for their sushi over other choices -ie junk food like Maccas!! WIN!!!!

We haven't yet tried anything other than their sushi - because everytime we get there, we can't resist their sushi!! One Day we WILL try their Pad Thai and Oden Udon!! If we can resist the lure of Sushi Rolls!!

But I cannot recommend them highly enough. They have even made fresh rolls when needed (we put in big orders and wipe them out).

Opening hours are the best as well - open later than some supermarkets - great for a later dinner.

Approximate cost: $Starts from $2 per Sushi Roll

This review is for Hahndorf Farm Barn, Hahndorf SA

13 Dec 2012

We are regular visitors to The Farm Barn and it is a firm favorite on our List Of Things To Do. Situated at Hahndorf, it makes for a simply divine day out for the whole family. Since the new owners have taken over, it has simply gotten better and better each time we go.

The staff are gorgeous and are wonderful with both kids and adults. The owners are involved and friendly and welcoming. With new experiences and animals going on all the time, my kids never get bored (looking forward to seeking the new baby owls soon too!) Animal feedings - kangaroos, emus, lambs, rabbits, guinea pigs, Patting baby chicks, milking the cow, holding reptiles, patting all kinds of farm animals - so much to do!!

And us adults also have a great time feeding the animals and getting involved - no sitting down clock-watching and waiting for kids to finish, adults will find this fun too.

Approximate cost: $2 Adults & 2 kids $36

Had to have my brakes done immediently and they were able to squeeze us in. I have found my new forever mechanic! They are always professional, friendly and always go above and beyond.

As a female who has been ripped off my mechanics before, I was always wary and ready to have my wallet destroyed, but Dave and his team have made me feel welcome and calm and not like I need to take out a loan to fix my car.
I know that when they say "this needs fixing" it actually does and they never charge like wounded bulls! Basically, you can trust these guys!

Look, honestly, my last mechanic would charge $900 for brakes that weren't squealing. Dave charged me $600 and my brakes were BAD!!

Call him, you'll wish you had done it years ago - I know I do!!

I have been in love with the Blooming Bath for babies for ages, but couldn't find a seller in Australia that wasn't a rip off. Then a friend of a friend linked me to Skelliwags. They had the Blooming Bath there, for the cheapest price AND reasonable postage as well! As well, they had the matching washcloths for cheaper than anywhere else I had ever seen!!

I ordered everything and it all arrived in just 3 days! Ordered Monday Afternoon, received Thursday Morning - honestly, fastest postage I have seen in ages!

Everything was exactly as described (actually better!) and the service from Skelliwags was outstanding - everything and more you would expect from an excellent online seller! Personal touches, email updates and even a free gift of a washcloth on a personalised note - marvellous!

Will definitely be keeping my eye on Skelliwags for any upcoming baby needs - with service like that, why go anywhere else?

Approximate cost: $77 for everything including postage

This review is for Wok In A Box, Woodcroft SA

19 Jul 2012

We bought Wok In A Box last night for dinner - never again!
It took nearly 50 minutes for our order - Only two staff on and one of the staff appeared to be new - neither of them supported each other. We ordered the Family Box- they were out of juice, toys, chopsticks and napkins, ONE bottle of water they substituted for the missing 2 juices. (Hard to share between 2 very young children :( ) Food was soggy and greasy and tasteless - Pud Thai had no vegetables in it at all and the Teriyaki had no broccoli. Very disappointing meal - ended up having toast and spring rolls once we got home - I will admit the spring rolls and the prawn crackers were fresh and tasty.

Basically, waste of money and time.

Approximate cost: $32

This review is for Whistler Wines, Marananga SA

03 Jul 2012

We discovered Whistler Wines while driving through the Barossa Valley. Friendly and welcoming - especially with the kids - the Big Dam stroll is lovely!

On our first visit, we bought several bottles as christmas gifts - ever since then, we are sorely scolded if we don't give Whistler Wines as gifts!

We return every year - the setting is devine, the wines heavenly and the staff are wonderfully welcoming.

A high recommend from us!

This review is for Lobethal Bakery, Woodside, Woodside SA

03 Jul 2012

We recently discovered this bakery on a family drive - absolutely stunned at the quality we found.
Staff were friendly, bakery was spotless and best of all - their food was heavenly! I dream about their pasties now!

The only negative is their opening hours - limited weekend trading hours mean that we miss them more times than we can get there.

This review is for Frets And Stix, Reynella SA

03 Jul 2012

We recently decided to buy some new instruments to expand our repertoire and Andy at Frets and Stix was a delight to deal with. Happy and cheerful, willing to chat and talk with our kids (this is always an important thing where we are concerned!) and even showed them how to play a kazoo! He took the time to explain what we were buying and what he recommended - we will continue to use his store for our future music needs :)

This review is for Suzuki Music Association SA, Flagstaff Hill SA

03 Jul 2012

We have been attending violin classes with a local Suzuki trained instructor for nearly a year now. My daughter started first, but since then, I too have decided to learn as well. Not only that, our 2.5yr old has shown a strong interest in starting as well!
Our teacher Sian is brilliant with both children, patient and understanding. She knows just how to encourage and teach. Both my children adore her!

Suzuki Music is very family orientated - something we were very interested in finding - and strives to teach by engaging the learner (especially children) in a way that promotes a love of music - not a burden of simply learning. With an active social calendar, parents and students are encouraged to join in and be part of the Suzuki community - something else we were looking for. We wanted to be a part of our children's learning.

I cannot recommend Sian and the Suzuki Music Association highly enough - if you are looking for an enjoyable, enriching learning enviroment - you can rest assured that you have found it here!
