This review is for Ace Space, Chirnside Park VIC

I love Ace Space. I can not fault it. It is clean, heaps of different activities for the kids to do, and above all the kids love it.
Plenty of seating for the adults, and a variety of play areas for children of different ages.
However, because Ace Space is so big, and has so much to do it often attracts older children. If you have littlies (who love to play on the big kids playground) I would not recommend visiting this Play Centre on weekends or outside school hours. They may get trampled.

I guess that's the curse of being such a great Play Centre.

This review is for Yummy Bowl Chinese Restaurant, Mooroolbark VIC

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Mooroolbark. The food is always good, and the serving sizes are decent for the price. In fact, this is probably my favourite Chinese restaurant within 10km of Mooroolbark. That may be however, because there food is so good I could not find a better Chinese take away shop, so I stopped trying.

I generally order take out from this restaurant as when dining in, it just doesn't seem like a "nice" restaurant. It has very little interior decorating and is quite casual.

If you are after Good Chinese food, or an okay Chinese (eat in) restaurant Yummy Bowl is for you.

This review is for 777 Thai Take Away, Mooroolbark VIC

verified email - 18 Aug 2013

Thai is my favourite food (and generally expensive), so if I am going to buy Thai take out, I want it to be good.
When this Thai restaurant opened in Mooroolbark I was very excited. My first meal here wasn't great, but not terrible. I decided to try again. I realised on my second visit here that whilst the food isn't terrible, it just isn't GOOD, traditional Thai.
I would prefer to drive a little further to some of the surrounding suburbs to get GOOD Thai.
If you aren't a "lover" of Thai and just want decent Asian food, you will probably enjoy 777. If you are a lover of Thai, don't waste your money.

This review is for Tien Dat Restaurant, Box Hill VIC

verified email - 18 Aug 2013

Tien Dat is popular because they really do make fantastic Vietnamese food. As such, they are very busy, and basically always overcrowded. Trying to get a table without a booking is nearly impossible, and the staff can be quite rude.

The decision to go to Tien Dat is always difficult. Do I want great food, or a nice restaurant where I can hear myself think?

This review is for The Coach And Horses Hotel, Ringwood VIC

verified email - 18 Aug 2013

I rate coach and Horses as an overall 3 because it has a playground. As a parent, a playground that is warm, safe and suitable for a range of ages gives an automatic plus.
However, this is where the positives for coach and horses end.
When we went recently the food was terrible, and the service at the bar was even worse.
I ordered grilled chicken with cream sauce dressing and vegetables. The chicken was dry, and cream sauce as basically milk and the vegetables appeared as though they may have been a week old. I waited at the bar for near 20 minutes to be served and the dirty dishes on the (empty) table beside us sat there for the entire duration of our stay.

If the service / food were to improve then coach and horses were to improve then this would be a fantastic, family friendly restaurant.

This review is for Chirnside Fruit Market, Chirnside Park VIC

verified email - 12 Aug 2013

I love this fruit shop. I buy budget fruit and veg simply because I go through so much. The fruit and veg sold at this fruit shop doesn't always look perfect, but it definitely tastes perfect.

It is always juicy and delicious. I sometimes find the fruit doesn't last quite as long, but in my house that really isn't an issue. It is eaten long before it can go bad.

The store is poorly laid out, and the queue for the registers can often be frustrating as their is no real line. It's just a matter of every man for himself. The staff are friendly, although the managers can be a little gruff / rude. It is also important to check when you buy items that you are being charged the correct amount. With prices changing on a regular basis and no computer system, the girls can understandably make mistakes.

Def. recommend this fruit shop. I got 8 bags of fruit and veg today for only $40.00 :)

This review is for Impressions Hair & Beauty, Kilsyth VIC

I visited this business approximately 2 months ago. I was really happy with the service. I had my hair cut free of charge as my hair was cut by the apprentice. The normal prices whilst not the lowest around, were very reasonable for the high level of service.

My hair was cut by Danielle, who is a final year apprentice. She was fantastic! Lauren (who I believe is the owner) checked over my cut and made an final adjustments that were required. They were patient and understanding when I needed to feed my baby, and took the time to answer all of my questions. My sister also had her hair cut / and straightened here on my recommendation and was very happy also.

It was, without a doubt the best hair cut I have had in years. It looks like I have finally found a decent hairdresser to take care of my hair.

This review is for Top Tail & Toes, Mooroolbark VIC

verified email - 12 Aug 2013

I have only visited Top Tail and Toes one time, but was very pleasantly surprised. I took advantage of a 50% off promotion that they offered on FB and got my pooch a full pamper package. He was washed, dried, clipped and had his nails trimmed for $27.50 (Normally $55).

I was a little concerned before I took him, as I have heard horror stories about dog washes. However, when I walked in the door Top, Tails and Toes seemed like a happy place.

I was greeted by Belinda who was a bright, friendly girl who immediately had a lovely repour with my dog.

When I picked Gizmo up, he was beautifully groomed, and smelt amazing. He was happy, and showed no signs of distress.

I would definitely recommend this business to fellow dog owners.

This review is for Terry's Meats, Mooroolbark VIC

verified email - 12 Aug 2013

The quality of meat from Terry's is very good. The price's are reasonable and they have a great range of meat. I find them much cheaper than the supermarket and better quality too.
The also offer a range of prepared meals (heat at eat) from stir fry to meat loaf.

I do not go to Terry's Meats that often as the staff can be quiet rude / abrupt. The often appear agitated when you don't know exactly what you want, and service with a smile does not seem to exist at this butcher. The poor service is a real shame because it is the only negative for this otherwise great business.

This review is for Moo Bar, Mooroolbark VIC

I love Moo Bar! It brings a little slice of tranquillity to Mooroolbark. It offers good coffee, great food and very reasonable prices. The outdoor garden is quiet and relaxed, whilst the indoor area is clean, warm and comfortable. The allow dogs at the tabled area out the front, and they are very accommodating of prams / kids / babies.

Pricing is what you would except from a casual café / restaurant and the quality is always good.

I love that they now offer a take-away menu on your not so typical take away items.

Highly recommend Moo Bar if you need a casual catch up in Mooroolbark.
