I lived in Pt Augusta about 8 years ago and used Phil Cammarano to do my taxes. You know that ad about the accountant who is all excited about tax refunds? THAT'S PHIL. He picks up everything, is diligent and friendly and we actually kept using him even after we moved 500km away. We don't get billed for the occasional query through the year, he just makes life easier. Doing your taxes is a pain, having a nice accountant makes it much less awful!

I wish I could post a picture of the fabulous Minecraft cake I bought for my husband - two tiered, 8 inch choc mud with fudge, and an edible Minecraft sword stuck into it as a play on the Arthurian sword in the stone concept. The whole house smelled delicious and the cake was to die for - moist, flavoursome, moreish! And all for $70!! You would pay double that anywhere else. I have a new official cake maker :)

We went to a birthday party with Mike, he was FANTASTIC. A born entertainer, very polished, wonderful with children and very diligent about keeping them all safe and occupied. He is one of the best balloon artists I have ever seen, and all the kids leave with a balloon. My friend (who hosted) also raved about the presents he brought the birthday girl and the private show he gave for free. His cost is obscenely low for the entertainment value, less than half what you would pay for a comparable magician. He said he keeps his costs down to allow children from poorer areas to still have his parties (aww). A truly lovely man, I'll be booking him.

We have come here a few times, it is a very pleasant outlook over the lake. They do good breakfasts and are always well patronised. I strongly recommend an indoor seat in winter, it is freezing!

Need a criminal lawyer? Come here of a morning to find half of Adelaide's lot having coffee. Our boss kept a tab running, we were there so often. Good coffee and breakfasts. Just what you need to perk you up before your day of slavery.

The name always put me off; it's not what you'd expect for a Thai restaurant! But the food is reliable, the location is convenient and the prices are okay. It's close to Adelaide Uni so it was one of the regular places we went to.

This is a lovely, high end restaurant with excellent steak. The butcher next door stocks their produce and sauces, which are award winning. Not an everyday thing (for our family anyway) but a nice place for a special occasion.

We ordered online, which I thought was a tough ask of Mexican food, which can look a little roughly presented at the best of times. They put a lot of effort into separating the components though and it was really well packaged. We ordered WAY too much and it is all very rich, but tasty. The ribs were great. The kids loved their churros too.

When you have young children who don't enjoy sitting and conversing for long periods, a place as quick to prepare a meal as Chopstix is really valued. Inexpensive and good value.

This is one of the premiere yum cha spots in Adelaide. They have a standard menu but you'd never know it as everyone goes with the yum cha! I'm not a huge fan of the fried offerings (which is most things) but the kids love them. Their steamed bbq pork buns are lovely, as are the wontons.
