Would highly recommend Shane and PBS. Excellent website, easy to navigate, from booking online to all the information available and the online quiz, it was a breeze. Then there's all the follow up info, awesome! Being quite nervous, Shane, my assessor is a really approachable, great teacher and created a relaxed session. I would highly recommend watching the YouTube videos and study, study, study. As they say, if I can do it, you can too!

The training and assessment was excellent. Joseph was friendly, patient and knew his stuff and doing the training and assessment with another student made it easier. The DVD and training notes were easy to follow and well designed and made the whole thing easy. No criticisms at all and I would highly recommend to anyone.

The tests were both very well prepared by Hayden and he was very encouraging in helping us execute the correct manoeuvres etc. i was able to complete both tests feeling relaxed and confident. I'll definitely recommend PBS to other friends and family.

I already had my Victorian boat licence but it expired and in order to renew it I had to fly back in person , so obviously a easier and cheaper option was to just resit here in WA , glad I did as I found I learnt a lot more by doing your course/licence and was very helpful through out the whole process , was a pleasure

The course was easy to book online and there was enough details to guide you through the course.. I had a good instructor Stephen and highly recommend him he was thorough and was just not going to give me the ticket with 1 extra score wrong .. He would make sure I knew all the ones I got wrong and when I went back it was a lot easier .. it's funny you know I have been born and bred in the sea worked as merchant seaman most of my life there was still some things I did not know my wife had a little chuckle to herself ..

I did the RST combined with the 3 hour boat handling course for novices and not only did I get my skippers ticket I had a great day out. My instructor Shane simplified and explained everything from 1st principles in a laid back calm way. I had a smile on my face when he left and turned around and took my new boat out for a spin on the river. I will be booking another one for my sea legs!!

Hi guys This training was great. Joe was fantastic, I was a total beginner and Joe taught me a lot including stuff outside of the requirements. He gave me tips for loading and unloading, fishing and things about my new boat I might want to change. It gave me confidence to go out the next weekend and all went really well and we had a great time. I also liked the ability to do the theory online and the youtube vid is really good, the historical stuff really helped me remember. I have already recommended this course to a couple of people. Had a great time doing my RST at woodman point with Shane. My mate and I were extremely nervous but he made it feel like we were out for a cruise with a mate who was teaching us how to use a boat. I can't speak highly enough of Shane and Perth boat school , from the free tutorial dvd and workbook to the hands on experience we gained while doing our ticket. Great experience. Was a little bit nervous I the beginning but Brett assured me if I studied I will pass the theoretical test with ease. From there he showed me step by step the practical and I actually find it really easy. Perth boat school was very easy to work with and supported us by allowing a 1 week deferal when we hadnt completed our study preperation. We found our instructor Steve to be very good. his teaching style enabled me to learn the skills quickly and confidently. the SMS prompts and sample tests made the theory examaination much easier to pass.

So many people told me the Skippers ticket was a joke and not to even bother studying. Will I did study and put in plenty of effort and just as well, because Perth Boat School actually run a credible program. Joe the assessor was a credible guy and provided plenty of useful tips in the practical assessment. Definitely make sure that you make the effort to ensure everyone's safety. Cheers Peter

Myself and two of my mates enrolled in to the Platinum Course. I have to say that the experience we've had and the amount of stuff we learned was fantastic. Steve Preston, our instructor is a real champion and gave us so many invaluable tips. Worth every penny we spent, I would recommend it to all new skippers and we got our skipper tickets in 3 hrs. Perth Boat School is second to none when you need a professional organisation with friendly staff to safely navigate you through all the requirements to achieving your goal as a “Skipper”. The equipment and facilities are top notch, with easy on line booking and revision questions (quiz) to help you through the theory component of the course. I highly recommend Perth Boat School. Our instructor was friendly, polite and made the day a lot of fun. I was nervous about the practical component but it ended up being an enjoyable day on the river focused on learning taking the stress out of the assessment component. Our instructor also included many examples of his own experience from boating which will stick with to help me remember the boating rules.  Anyone thinking of getting their skipper's ticket I would strongly recommend they go with the Perth Boat School!

Perth Boat School provided a comprehensive learning experience - read the book, watch the video, complete the sample questions, get in the boat, get your ticket! Our trainer was great and concentrated on those things we felt least comfortable doing. I've never moored a boat before and now feel comfortable enough to approach the dock with confidence. Thanks! Highly recommend Perth boat school. I have no experience on the water. I attempted the test 3 times and the third time I passed 36 out of 40. I love the fact that they pass you out when you're competent no just rick tick now where's my cash. I feel confident that the students that come out of the training here have a string grasp of knowledge not just for open waters but eateries and rivers. I highly recommend a master corse. Witch is in my wish list. My instructor was Steve whom I highly recomnomend. His knowledge communication skills people skills  instructor  skills go above and beyond. Just remember morning tea and a coffee for him. 😉

I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed taking my Skippers Ticket. Geoff is an excellent instructor, clear, patient and calm. I should add that I am not an experienced skipper by any means and have only really crewed sailboats on inland waters, rowed dinghy's, SUP'd and canoed so I knew nothing about driving a powerboat, being out on open water, the voyage plans, safety equipment, dealing with hazards & emergency situations etc. There is a lot to learn & get through in the 2 hours but Geoff made me feel really at ease and inspired confidence and I'm extremely happy to say I passed but so much of it was his encouragement. I feel like I've learned a lot and I now have what I need to venture onto the water safely. Enrolment and all communications were excellent. You get a call the day before and the telephone staff were really helpful. Would definitely recommend Perth Boat School. Thanks everyone.

Very impressed by the efficiency, friendliness and thoroughness of the instruction and assessment process. I will recommend you to my family who also want to do the course and to any friends that may be thinking about it. The website was user-friendly but I would make one observation:  As a complete newby, and without knowing the degree of thoroughness involved when I filled in the online form, I had little idea of whether I needed the platinum course or not.  I realised only when the session got going that I really did. Perhaps if the options were spelled out in a bit more detail the correct choice would be easier to make. Some sample questions with arrows pointing to the options, perhaps. None of this, however, distracted from a very enjoyable boating experience and please pass on my personal thanks to Jim. Best wishes Alan

Friendly trainer made me feel relaxed, even though I have been in boats for years took the time to give me a quick demo on what I had to achieve and so made the task that more enjoyable. Overall very pleasant experience and will recommend to anybody I know who require a ticket.

The marketing strategy of the Perth Boat School is excellent. A professional easy to use website with useful learning tools such as revision tests, DVD, short videos and references to the DOT Marine website and Boating Handbook. These are all signs of a very good and compliant RTO. The Trainer Joseph Zammit was a very good instructor who gave clear direction with logical and relevant training, which places the student at ease, yet gets the best out if them whilst maintaining high training standards. Overall 9/10 and that's an 'Excellent' for me as I am a very fussy customer. I will recommend your organisation to others. Joe is an excellent trainer. He is thorough and extremely professional. He made us all feel at ease as soon as he arrived. We couldn't recommend Perth Boat School highly enough. I booked our group on the Thursday and by Sunday afternoon all 3 of us had our skipper's ticket. Now to have fun on the river.

Very pleased with the whole experience . Trainer was obviously very experienced in his field and was only too happy to share his knowledge and experience with me . Didn't seem to me that he was working , was more like he was doing something that he loved to do. Would certainly recommend Perth Boat School to anyone requiring a service of this type. I was very impressed with the school. Communication with the instructor and the online resources and requirements was great. John was a fantastic instructor, he suited our personalities (or adapted to us) quite well. There were several points where he educated us to satisfy our curiousity. It was a seamless and very enjoyable afternoon which turned from "that compulsory course" to a confidence inspiring experience. I will be recommending the school.

Excellent service from start to finish.  Full communication throughout revision until after you pass. The DVD explains the theory book in layman's terms for non boaties! My trainer Michael Contatore was excellent and was very thorough and a great teacher.  I would recommend The Perth Boat School as 100% value for money - they want you to pass and do everything possible to ensure it.

I went to meet Geoff only knowing what I'd studied being very nervous and he was amazing really knew his stuff. He instantly puts you at ease ( even when extremely nervous), he has lots of helpful tips that you don't learn from a book. I really enjoyed my time I felt confident with my boating now and would highly recommend perth boat school ( I already have to a couple of friends ) Thanks to perth boat school and the wonderful Geoff.

The Instructors and School were accommodating from Day 1. The process and support towards the end goals were professional and thorough. The learning environment was excellent and the instructor knowledgeable, calm and professional and not hesitant to address bad habits I had picked up over 20 or so years (since i was 14) of handling power vessels. If there was any one I had to recommend for the RST I would not hesitate to recommend Perth Boat School. Thorough and Professional and proud to have been a graduate of the "Perth Boat School". Hi Mike, Thankyou for the chance to give feedback. I found the whole process from signing up to paying to studying for the test to completing the RST assessment on the day easy to follow. The study notes/hand book where a bit confusing to a novice like me at first, but once I read the notes and watched the video it all came together and made sense. Also I found the on-line revision questions an excellent aid, they were a big help in assisting me to get 100% in the test. I also wanted to mention that David Limpert was a pleasure to deal with, very professional, courteous and helpful. Michael was very patient and explained the processes extremely well. He allowed plenty of opportunities to ask questions and gave explicit answers.  Michael was professional in the way he conducted himself and he  handled demonstrated boat handling with great skill. I had the absolute pleasure of achieving my RST (skippers ticket) with Joseph from the Perth Boat School. I was very anxious about the theory component but Josephs manner helped me to relax, he encouraged me to take my time and achieve the best possible result. Having passed my theory, we then completed the practical assessment component under Josephs expert tutelage. He wa s thorough in his practical demonstration and explanations whilst his encouraging manner ensured that my nervous tension did not impede the completion of my certification. My wife who accompanied me today, having watched Josephs approach to his customers has mandated that she will not complete her certification with anyone but Joseph. Perth Boat School can look forward to repeat business from our household in the very near future. We had a very successful and enjoyable Sunday morning
