I chose Greenheaven for my late wife’s funeral services, and my experience with them was notably straightforward. From the initial phone conversation with Tim and Carly, their approach was highly supportive. They facilitated an open discussion about our preferences for the funeral, simplifying a process that could have been overwhelming. Following my wife’s passing, all that was required on my part was to provide the hospital with Carly’s contact details. Greenheaven took over from there, arranging for my wife’s body to be transported to their facility without any complications. Our planning meeting with Carly was conducted with ease. She was receptive to our needs, presenting various options without pressuring us. We selected the services that best matched our wishes, resulting in a respectful and beautiful service for my wife. Carly’s professionalism extended beyond the service; she was considerate and thoughtful when it came time to return my wife’s ashes. The most significant aspect of working with Carly and Tim at Greenheaven was their ability to make the entire process feel manageable. They provided a sense of calm and control, ensuring we never felt overwhelmed or discomforted by morbidity during this emotionally challenging period.

I was referred to Greenhaven Funerals by a friend, but from the minute I spoke with Carly on the phone, I just knew I had found the right person and the right funeral company. At the saddest and most difficult time of my life, losing my beautiful son, Carly was wonderful. She was warm, respectful and compassionate and had such empathy, whilst at the same time super organised, efficient and clearly amazing at what she does. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, even when I changed my mind about lots of things, right up to the time of the service. I wanted and needed the last day with my son to be best and most perfect day it could be, and it was that and more. I will be forever grateful to Carly, Tim and their team for everything and cannot recommend them highly enough. For anyone facing the enormously sad and difficult task of saying goodbye to a loved one, Carly's compassion and ultimate professionalism will provide you a guiding hand to ensure they will be honored with love, grace and dignity. The care and time Carly spent organising my sisters funeral was done with compassion, tolerance and care. Nothing was a worry and even came into the hospital to speak with my sister and ask what she would like. Having to try and organise everything via zoom with teenager children , was a challenge but Carly managed to calmly organise everything. The funeral was perfect. Exactly how Liz wanted it. From the very first phone call to Tim I began to feel at ease with the sad process. During Tim's visit to our apartment, he was respectful, knowledgeable, had all of the required documentation and answered all of my questions. The funeral for Janet [my sister] was exactly as she had requested, the colour, music, psalm, prayers and hymns. Carly read the Eulogies with meaning and care. Thank you Greenhaven Funerals.

Carly recommended the perfect location and worked with us to understand our wishes, guide us through decisions and to perfect all of the details you'd never think of. Carly demonstrated fantastic flexibility and adapted to changes made, even on the day of the service. All loss is hard, but Carly handled an especially difficult situation and a complex family dynamic with kindness, understanding and respect. Not only did she help us plan a funeral, she supported us through the early stages of loss, shock and grief, and throughout the entire process I could truly feel how much she cared for the families she works with. Carly has been very supportive and well organised during such difficult time and they both walked us through with tender words and warmth. Carly was an old colleague who made a career change from HR to Funeral Directing quite a few years ago now, and I've watched her flourish. Working alongside her husband Tim, they are a dynamic duo! When my Aunty passed away I was so pleased to put Greenhaven forward to the family. They did not disappoint. It was the most beautiful service and the memory of love one was represented beautifully. I'm grateful to call Carly & Tim my friends, but that aside, people need the utmost care and respect during this sad time, and this couple will deliver. Carly went above and beyond supporting our family while mum was still alive and equally if not more when she passed and they promised to fulfill her wishes. My mum died here in Melbourne and she wanted to be buried at home in New Zealand. So we called other Funeral services who had advertised the ability to repatriate family members to their home of origin, and we were not impressed with their responses. Therefore, we called a company in NZ who we used to receive mum at that end and he gave us Carly's details. She was kind, patient and very knowledgeable. She is also very accommodating and was able to get all the paperwork needed, prepare and present mum beautifully, and have her ready for her final farewell. If you want to send your loved one home to their birth place then I would sincerely recommend Carly and Greenhaven Funeral Services.

My wife's funeral was the most amazing, creative, colourful celebration of her life and that could only have been achieved by using a company like Greenhaven. I wanted it to be a different and creative service and Carly and her amazing team came through 100%. Everyone at the service commented on how well it was run and organised. The service, Carly as MC and the live video stream, all were seamlessly executed. For me, I can't score Greenhaven high enough because they allowed me the creative licence to give my wife what she so deserved. Carly and the team at Greenhaven Funerals did a highly professional job that helped greatly to lighten the burden of losing our mother. She struck the perfect balance between professionalism, being practical and empathetic. Everything ran according to how we discussed it. There was constant communication and updates, with any issues resolved speedily. Feedback on the streaming of the funeral from Europe was that it worked perfectly and was very moving. Costs were easily identifiable, itemized and affordable (total cost includes all costs, including those other than services by Greenhaven (which was about $7,000)). Greenhaven tribute We recently farewelled our father Jeff with the help of Greenhaven Funerals. When looking for a funeral director we were drawn to the fact that Greenhaven was a small, family run business that offered a comprehensive list of options away from the tradition ‘church/chapel’ settings. This is something which suited our father perfectly. Tim made the whole process easy from the very start. Compassionate & considerate yet to the point, no fuss with clear communication & understanding of our needs with the appropriate suggestions to match. Our emails & phone calls were always answered promptly and any requests we had along the way were able to be accommodated without hesitation. On the day Tim, Carly and the Greenhaven team set up the venue beautifully and helped run a smooth service whilst maintaining an unassuming presence in the background giving our family the space we needed. We are so thankful for the hard work and dedication Greenhaven & the team provided to our family during such a difficult time.

Celebrating my Mother's life was so important to me and I couldn't think of entrusting anyone else to do the job!! Attention to detail was 100%. Carly is so caring, she not only provided a very professional funeral, she also was there for me when I needed someone to talk to. I would like to add that Carly treats you like family. Thank you Carly for looking after our late Mum. Your magic in making her look serene and beautiful for coffin viewing was amazing! Due to a fall, mum’s face did not present well when she passed. Carly and her co-workers were very accomodating to our needs during a difficult period of Covid Lockdowns. We had to plan using varying dates & numbers of guests. Carly from Greenhaven funerals is a kind, caring person who was a pleasure to work with for our Dad's service arrangements. A difficult time, made even more challenging by changing Covid restrictions, was made as easy and as smooth a process as it could be by Carly. She was very flexible and accommodating of evolving changes. She collated videos from family members who couldn't attend and wove them seamlessly into the service. The livestream team did a wonderful job of making the service available to family and friends that could not attend due to restrictions. The services were exactly as we wanted them within what was able to be done with restrictions.

I would certainly recommend Greenhaven funerals. Carly and her team were very supportive and helped us through the difficult process of saying farewell to my father. Her knowledge and expertise in the many decisions that need to be made was carefully explained to us, from coffin choice, flower arrangements to the type of service we wanted her motivation was always about whatever we felt most comfortable with. She is someone who cares very much about the job she is doing and the price was very good too.

My elderly mother contracted Greenhaven to take care of my sisters funeral. Carly was kind, explained everything to my mother with great patience, and arranged a beautiful funeral service for my sister. I highly recommend them. We have a link to view the service again if we want and an app will be provided for people to view all aspects of the funeral again including photo tribute etc. I also loved my mother choosing a family run business, that supports small business and that has environmentally sound funeral options, and although we did not take advantage of that, I love that they have that option.

This review is anonymous due to the fallout and dreadful response to the previous review and someone getting my mother involved and attempting to bully me into pulling my reviews! I just don’t want any other people to go through what I and 36people online did! It is tough enough being in lockdown and unable to attend your sisters funeral let alone attempting to see it for the subsequent 32hrs. There has still been no apology to me personally (although I was not the one who paid for the funeral, and therefore not technically their client) I am the deceased sister. Part of the experience of any rite of passage, including a funeral is seeing people arrive…and seeing and being part of the event at the time it is happening….. Most online streaming of funerals start the streaming 15min prior. (This is how several recent funerals I have attended have been done!) so that any problems can be sorted and so those watching feel part of this important right of passage. Problem: Streaming started later than the apointed time When it streamed it just looped There was no backup system so streaming could still commence… People streaming were asked during these issues by the streaming provider, (as were others half way through the delayed streaming) for personal details, this further interrupted the service and if one didn’t want to give these details it stopped the streaming. (This should have taken place well before the service commenced.) I sent 2 texts to The person running the funeral stating streaming wasn’t working and I was sent two texts back, 1”They are trying to resolve the tech issue now ..” 2“ The service will be recorded and able to be watched this afternoon due to issues with the internet.” No apology was forthcoming… (Mum has I believe has now been refunded the cost of the streaming) I have for the past 32hrs off and on attempted to see my sisters funeral just now managed to do so, 32hrs after the funeral, however it is still not working properly and intermitently stops and has to be started again. During the last 32hrs I went onto a public page of this company to write a review and was shocked to see my sisters coffin on their first post…(At least they have now taken it down!) this added to my distress and was most upsetting. It is so disrespectful to post this image without first speaking to all family members to get permission. Since I first posted this review earlier today they have contacted my mother (my deceased sisters mum) and greatly upset her by talking about a review that I wrote (this) about my personal experience of their service. It was totally inappropriate to do so, especially the day after her daughters funeral, and when she did not write the review and when they could have contacted me directly to sort the issue with an apology and undertakings as to how this would not happen to anyone else. I stand by my review and it is my opinion regarding this funeral business that it has handeled these issues and others in manner that is, if not unprofessional, certainly inappropriate. To not apologise (maybe they did to my mother) and instead to stir up problems in a bereaved family, so that this review would be pulled instead of giving any sort of public apology is, quite frankly, unforgivable. PS another friend who is in lockdown contacted me today and they said “ I think you should know that this eveningI clicked on it, and it went into the memorial briefly - I heard a tiny bit of music - and then it cut out. It did it twice. I do hope the funeral home get the permanent record and site up.“ It is now 2days after the funeral. No apology! No apology…I do not expect one now. I certainly hope they do not make anyone else go through this debacle and upset the bereaved so much…at least 10 days after the funeral (I was notified via my mother) those that wanted to attend via live feed could at last see most of my sisters funeral and the photos… I am glad that my sisters experience when she actually attended in person the same funeral was such a positive experience and that the company was perceived by her and from what she has stated by my mother as kind and patient…I take some small comfort in that.

I cannot provide enough praise Carly and her team at Greenhaven Funerals in arranging the funeral for my mum. The care and compassion that myself and my family received from Carly and Greenhaven was exceptional. She guided our family through the process, and was clear and transparent in every decision; each phone call was made with us present, and everything explained, with no pressure or rush. My mum had prearranged much of her funeral with Carly, and so during the funeral service, she was able to personally relate to our experience with mum. Her care throughout the day, and prior to in working with the Church and other agencies was a wonderful weight lifted from the family's shoulders. The whole team was utterly professional and personal; prior to my mum's burial we were talking with Tim, who was empathetic, yet able to lighten our deep sorrows in conversation. HIGHLY recommend, care second to none. Price also reasonable and nothing unexpected.

You would be crazy to go with anyone else!!!!! As a leader of a company who prides itself on customer experience I am not easily impressed. Carly and her team were exceptional. No detail was missed and all requests were treated with a smile. During such a difficult time you need someone who cares and helps you to give your loved one the send off they deserve. I wanted bag pipes and a live singer to celebrate my Mums life. Carly arranged all this. I have so many positive comments from friends and family about what a lovely service and the main thing is my Mum would have loved it. And I also have to mention this all happened over Easter and the team were still working and arranging the funeral.

They were able to achieve our wish of finding a catholic priest who would perform the service at Bunerong so we celebrate our father's life all in one location. Highly recommended.

We have used the services of Greenhaven Funerals previously and in this instance for the funeral of my wife, the contact, the organising and the service and trappings were excellently handled. We have known this family business for a while now and Greenhaven have a personal and familiar feel to the way arrangements are handled. My daughter and I felt that we were handing our loved into the care of people who knew her and would care for her as we would have ourselves. Being local people and a small business offers a familiarity that the larger centrally controlled funeral homes do not. Very Happy

We began with a need to find somewhere beautiful for a service in Melbourne around the Kew area, somewhere relaxed, open and special. Carly knew exactly what we needed and they offer unique locations. We made it all happen so quickly and easily and i knew it would be the memorial that my father in law and family wanted. I couldn’t believe the amount of compliments we had on the location (studley grounds - stunning), the celebrant Carly suggested, the catering (even drinks, which we all needed too!), the order of service, the views, the memorial table and photo tribute. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. And all for a similar or likely much lower price that the bigger places.

When my mum was suddenly diagnosed with end stage cancer, one of my needs as her daughter was to find a funeral director that I believed could and would care for my mums body with care and respect after she passed away. I was guided to Carly through a friend and upon meeting her I found Carly to be a compassionate woman who patiently took me through the process of caring for my mums body and was open to my questions about how involved I can be in this process. Fast forward 3 months and there I was again at Greenhaven, this time preparing my mums wicker coffin for her placement within her last resting space. Alongside me was my daughter and granddaughter which my mum would of loved. This was when I also met Jules who helped support the space and make it ready for myself and my girls to decorate my mums coffin inside and out. While there my daughter and I viewed my mum in the viewing room where Carly had done a wonderful job with placement and my mum looked so peaceful that it was very healing for us. My mum did not want a funeral, her request was a direct cremation. Jules drove the hearse that day to the Springvale Botanical Gardens and before heading to the crematorium family met Jules and we were able to follow the hearse while in quiet contemplation through the Cemetery to a garden where Jules stopped to allow the family to say their goodbyes to my mum/sister/grandmother/greatgrandmother/cousin/aunty. The whole process from beginning to end with Carly and Jules was given with compassion and patience. From my personal experience during this difficult time, I would absoutley recommend Greenhaven Funerals. What was the most important thing to me, the aftercare of my mum, was done with professionalism and it has left lovely memories of mums last days on this Earth.

Personal touch is everything, these people have it down pat. Nothing was rushed, full respect was given to the very challenging dynamics of the surviving family members, an extremely unique service was delivered to commemorate our very talented and 'broke the mold' Jessie. The costs were also in line with what we could fund. While this is very much a secondary consideration in matters such as these, it is one less burden for our overburdened shoulders to bear. In short - Fully recommend, without reservation. The 'Professional Service' is exactly that - you tell them what you want, it happens...

This is the second funeral Carly and the team at Greenhaven have arranged for our family. Both times the level of service and care has been excellent and seamless. Because of covid there were a number of last minute changes but nothing was too much trouble. Even family and friends who attended the funeral commented on how they made things happen without making their presence felt or intruding on the family.

Prompt and efficient attention to all details. Everything ran very smoothly on the day of the funeral. The celebrant was excellent, as was the venue. The only problem was that we weren't advised or offered the possibility of holding a wake at the crematorium afterwards and when we tried to organise this it was booked out. Otherwise, we were very happy with everything.

I first en-counted Green Haven Funerals with the passing of a very dear Friend, they helped give her a beautiful farewell. With the passing of my own Dad recently, they were my first choice. In recently going through the process of selecting a funeral home, we were drawn to Greenhaven after being able to easily identify on their website their links with venues in the Melbourne area where we could hold a unique funeral service. We had an immediately positive experience with them over the phone and this continued over the course of our contact. All of their staff were friendly and warm at every point of the process of losing a loved one & planning for a funeral, providing reassurance through what was a very difficult time. This was demonstrated through small touches that helped us to feel that our loved one was being well cared for even after death. The experience we had with Greenhaven helped the family through the death of our dearly loved and respected father and grandfather. Tim contacted me promptly to clarify my initial inquiry, Carly followed up to ensure it had been received and understood and then reacted promptly once engaged to ensure our time frame could be met. Carly's team on the day greeted us warmly, respectfully guided our family and friends through the awkwardness of a 'socially distanced' funeral and assisted with a professional, dignified service. Pricing was certainly competitive, and our wishes for a 'cost-effective' service was understood from the onset and in no way compromised the level of service we received. Even the budget coffin was surprisingly distinguished and finely finished. Mum remarked "it looks like a nice granite/stone' On behalf of our family, thank you to the entire Greenhaven Team who cared for our brother and us, during what is always a dark time. A google search and recommendations via the Bayside Hub introduced us to Carly at Greenhaven Funerals We knew we needed to start making arrangements for mum but had no idea where to start. Yes we needed to contact a funeral provider but, other than that we were somewhat overwhelmed with the whole situation. I made a call to Carly and was instantly reassured everything would be ok. I discussed our initial thoughts and with some input from Carly it all just fell into place. What we thought was going to be a huge emotional and difficult decision became a calm and considered decision As crazy as it may seem we literally could not believe what we achieved as a family who had lost their beautiful mother aged 94 and all agreed this was due to the amazing connection we had with Carly - we actually loved the day - it was a Happy day For most the general perception re the process of a funeral has been : viewing, church, wake. We did not want this and it was just so refreshing to be able to explore the different options with Carly. Greenhaven is certainly a provider of choice if you are looking for a more personalised and individualised service. Everything was transparent, there was no hard sell, we felt we were listened to and given the time and opportunity to choose how we as a family wanted such an important event to play out. Our first experience with Greenhaven was in December 2019, we have since had another need to call on Greenhaven and again the support and care we received was exceptional I guess for most of us we all fear death, losing that special someone in our world that we love. The thought of planning a funeral and saying goodbye for most is such an unwanted experience, something we really would prefer to avoid but can’t. If you are looking for a beautiful personalised funeral service, we recommend Greenhaven Funerals with the highest of regard. Carly Dalton is the Funeral Director of the family owned business, Greenhaven Funerals. She came to visit us the same day as we enquired and within a few minutes of meeting her, we knew we had found the right company to honour and celebrate our Mum’s life and her passing. Carly was professional and warm, patient and caring and took her time explaining everything and gave us some great options for where the service could be held. It’s the little things that make a difference and an example of this is when Carly sent us each a text to let us know the progress of things, providing us with a lovely reassurance. Carly was also “on call - 24/7” and made time for us whenever we needed. Carly was also the celebrant and a great one at that, making the time to get to know Mum and writing a lovely personalised opening to the service that preceded our eulogies. She took the hard work out of a difficult time by organising the DVD / Music presentation and the order of service, so we could sit back and know that the service was in professional, capable hands. Also, Greenhaven Funerals were considerably less expensive than the other companies yet without any compromise. This was not really a factor in our decision however it was a nice surprise to have such a considerable saving. Most importantly though, we had a beautiful, respectful and gentle service that everyone favourably commented on and that honoured our Mother in the way she deserved. The ladies at Greenhaven are amazing. I am so very thankful for the support, guidance, care and love they put into creating a beautiful service for my Mum. No questioned was too silly to ask, they were just so understanding of every need. From the moment my Mum was picked up after her passing I knew we had made the right decision. The ladies were so beautiful and gentle with how they looked after Mum, as if she was their own family. And on the day of her funeral Mum looked so wonderful, they had taken great time and care with her. I can not thank you all enough particularly Janet and Carly. We really appreciated the way you helped us create a service that was a beautiful tribute to Mum's life; no request we made was too difficult for you, nor too late to include. From the moment Tim at GreenHaven took my call in the early hours of the morning, I knew I'd chosen the right people. When Carly visited my home to discuss arrangements for the funeral for Dad, she made the process seamless with great discussions, suggestions and information but let my family take control to send Dad off in style. Carly organised to be part of the service, the RSL to honour Dad with a special eulogy and tribute for his Navy service which was amazing and still has people talking. This was something we would never have thought of. Our family decided while sitting with Dad in his final hours, that we would like to use a unique funeral director and that is exactly what we got with GreenHaven. The service was organised in two days and it was remarkable. Thank you Carly and your team.

Recently my sister passed away unexpectedly. My sister,my wife flew in from Brisbane & Perth hoping to be with her, unfortunately we did not make it, we arrived having to arrange my sisters funeral. At the most difficult time in our lives, the last thing we wanted to do was arrange a funeral, but Carly was so lovely and understanding and made it all so much easier for us. Carly and Tim were compassionate, caring and practical in all dealings with us. They made us feel confident our Mother was treated with the care and dignity she deserves. Having initially spoken to a Funeral Director from one of the larger chains which was (frankly, in my view) like speaking to a brick wall with no compassion nor empathy, followed by the Four Corners program in Sept 2019 - we went to Greenhaven and could not have been happier with the service and care they provided. My family and I were so fortunate to have Carly and her team at Greenhaven take care of our beloved mother. No words can describe how caring, kind, compassionate, thoughtful and calming the whole process became. From our first meeting with Carly and Amy before Mum passed, to our private viewing then the funeral at Wattle Park Chalet. Mum’s theme was ‘pink’ so Carly bought the team a pink tie and neck scarves! How special! They made a difficult day an absolutely perfect day! All the Greenhaven staff were incredibly professional and treated Mum with so much respect. We’ve had so many comments from our guests that it was the most memorable and personable funeral they had attended and that it was the funeral they would wish for their elderly or themselves. No request was a problem and the process was stress free. We worked closely to ensure the day would be wonderful, and it was. Thank you Greenhaven from the bottom of our hearts.

Greenhaven had been recommended by a friend, and I was very pleased that we accepted their recommendation. Carly was able to understand the way we wanted to celebrate my father's life, and was able to help us create an event that I wanted. She was available whenever I needed to communicate, everything went very smoothly, and she was able to take all the stress away. Our father had particular requests and Carly and Greenhaven Funerals were able to accommodate all of them - even offered a marine urn which we didn't know existed and would have thrilled Dad. She made recommendations which really suited our needs. Carly was respectful and supportive on the day and left us to say goodbye in private. It is difficult to overstate the importance of a ceremony that gives comfort to everyone at a time like this. Carly put together my words about my darling husband in a way that was sincere but not intrusive, sad but uplifting. We had a small, private service and those who were there said it was the 'best' service they had ever attended. There is no pressure from Greenhaven to spend big but everything is highly professional yet friendly. We had a viewing for those who wanted it, and they had done a beautiful job and I now have such a precious memory of my husband looking peaceful in his favourite outfit.

You hear a lot about the cost of funerals. Our family were quietly surprised that Carly and her team were out to save us money, not gouge it from us. Dad got exactly what he wanted and Carly delivered the service beautifully. From the carefully asked questions at the family meeting all the way through to the guard of honor at the end of service made for a send off our Dad not only would have loved but thoroughly deserved.

Carly and Greenhaven Funerals were the only people interested in what I wanted for my partner's cremation. (Others were not keen on supplying a cardboard coffin for him, and didn't respect our wishes for no service, and I felt they couldn't be bothered with anything not standard or conservative.) Carly had the coffin delivered to our home a few days before the cremation so the kids and I could decorate it with love, and supported us in doing what we needed to create our own ceremony through simple ritual, so the send-off became beautiful and healing. Carly was quick to answer the phone or texts and made everything easy, she was so considerate and professional without being distant. I'm so lucky I found Greenhaven funerals Thank-you Carly.

It was pleasant having the funeral director call at my home and discuss all options openly and directly in a down to earth manner. The funeral operator is a small one and are local to me which I preferred. I had contacted other funeral directors but the approach was very corporate, call centre handled and very impersonal. We would like to thank you Greenhaven Funerals for the enormous amount of work and seamless production that they put together for Dad's service on Monday. Carly included everything that we asked for and more - nothing was too much. So many of our guests commented on how wonderful and special the Celebration service was and our immediate family was very touched by the presentation of the private cremation service that she did for us in the morning. Carly's emotional support - from the very first contact a couple of months prior till the final farewell can never be praised highly enough. The whole day ran so easily and she took all of the stress out of our hands so that we were able to just focus on saying goodbye to our darling Dad.

A friend used Greenhaven Funerals to provide services for her mother. At the time I was really impressed with Carly and asked her for a card. As quite a few years have passed since that funeral I had to ask my friend for the name and contact number when my dad unexpectedly passed away in March. We planned Dad's memorial service before he died as we knew that he was not going to live for very much longer. Carly came to speak to ask and helped us to plan the service, Dad's cremation and also provided us with support that we needed to get through that rather difficult time. Dad's service was quite beautiful in a setting that took us home to the area in which we had grown up - Wattle Park Chalet. Unfortunately we had to make use of Carly's services again in October as our mum passed away then. We can't speak highly enough of the manner in which Carly helped us. Compassionate, caring, yet ready with a smile and encouragement whenever it was needed. Carly took care of our mum and helped us through this very difficult time. Whenever we needed Carly she was available to us with never a sense that we were intruding on her. Mum's service was held at the Nunawading Basketball Stadium and Carly was not at all phased by us using a setting that she had never used before - a very flexible lady. Thank you Carly for all the things that you have done for us this year.

In what turned out to be the last morning of my mum’s life I contacted Greenhaven requesting an estimate for her funeral and it was emailed very quickly. Within 2 hours of receiving the estimate my mother died and the hospital was asking who the funeral director was. When I called Carly she said, “Tell me where mum is and we will take care of her” and she did. From start to finish Carly and her team were respectful, kind and honest. They helped us put together a beautiful service honouring my mum and our families wishes for an very reasonable fee. We made a good choice in Greenhaven funerals when our mother died. Carly patiently talked us through the details, requirements and options, and helped us organise the type of farewell our mother wanted. Compared to what we've heard the bigger companies can cost, we thought Greenhaven delivered personalised and compassionate service at a very reasonable price. A bonus for us was the fact that Greenhaven also stock wicker caskets, for a more eco friendly and individual touch.

We had attended a funeral run by Greenhaven prior which my husband liked very much so I was happy that I could match his expectations. My husband was in hospice care and approaching the end of his life. I wanted to arrange the funeral ahead of time and approached a funeral company advertising itself as offering individualised care. I received anything but; perhaps I did not fit their standard model. I was shocked and more than a little upset. Carly and Tim recently took care of our family when my mum passed away, and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They went out of their way to ensure mum's service was a beautiful and personal remembrance of mum, and to accomodate all our family's needs and wishes. Carly and Tim were utterly respectful and caring, and provide a very personal and sympathetic service full of care at a time when grieving families need that the most. They took the time to get to know us, and mum's life, and we were so grateful to them for their care. Nobody ever wants to have to use the services of a funeral director, but our family will never use another company again when we inevitably have the need of this service again. Carly and Tim were a wonderful 'find' for our family when my sister passed away recently. It was a lucky find for us, sourcing them for one of their exquisite wicker caskets, but we then discovered they could fill our needs for celebrant, funeral director, mortician and casket supplier. However they were much more than this, and I cannot state the extent of their understanding, empathy, versatility to our many changes, and much more. I would highly recommend them to any grieving family, and thank them deeply for all their care to not only my dear sister, but to all our family.

I selected Carly and the team and GreenHaven to conduct Karen's (my wife) funeral after reading through numerous online reviews. Based on the 170+ reviews I could find both here and on google, there was not one negative comment. Having laid Karen to rest yesterday I could not speak more highly of the personal and professional service they provided. They are a relatively small operation, which might mean you need to be a little bit flexible with your date or time, but let me tell you, it's worth it.

Carly and her husband Tim looked after my dad after he passed away. From the moment she came into my home she made me feel at ease, she was comforting and supportive. She kept me involved and updated with every step of the process and completely took the stress away from me, I dreaded every part of it but after meeting Carly I was suddenly very calm. She made me feel very at peace with death and also with the whole after care of my dad. I will never have enough words to thank Carly and Greenhaven. To say I am thankful is an understatement!

My name is Jon von Goes, I'm a celebrant. Weddings mainly, but of late I've been doing a few funerals for Greenhaven. I like the way they go about their business. Straight up. There is movement in the funeral business. There are new ways of conducting funerals. There is a small new breed of funeral directors who are rethinking things and making funerals more culturally relevant. Carly and Tim are a part of that new breed. To do funerals well you need to make them all about the person who has just died. Not about other stuff that doesn't matter. You need to get the tone right. You don't need to bung it on too hard, nor do you want to come on too soft. And you don't want to rip people off by selling them incredibly expensive coffins with ornate handles. You need to listen to what the people who are paying for the funeral want. Carly and Tim get it right.

With the sudden passing of my father, our family was confronted with the stressful and unfamiliar process that surrounds organising a funeral. I have known Carly for close to 40 years, we met at Primary School. In recent weeks, I have been assisting Carly & her husband - Tim in their funeral business - Greenhaven Funeral Services. Even though my Father hadn’t contacted Greenhaven himself, Tim provided a compassionate, caring and attentive service to my family after my Father had passed away, making sure that all members of the family were happy with the arrangements. Even though the Family did a lot of the arranging themselves, Tim’s service was excellent. We contacted Carly and Tim in search of a Wicker casket and found a total and wondeful funeral solution. Tim managed all arrangements including the flowers, was with us on the day and ensured everything ran to expectations. He made it happen without fuss or excessive stress on the family. Tim also introduced us to a wondeful celebrant, Jacqui who was the right fit, and conducted a fitting and wonderful service. She did extensive research with a number of family members to ensure everything was covered and that those involved on the day were comfortable. Importantly, the cost was alot less than we had been quoted elsewehere. Thanks Tim, Jacqui and team on an experience that made the loss of a loved one more bearable and led to a beautiful funeral service. I should also note that the wicker casket was appropriate and beautiful.

We are certainly very happy to recommend the Greenhaven team based on our experience. Also, whilst service and compassion is what Carly and her team excelled at, it is worth noting that we obtained an online quote from one of tge big name funeral companys and for much the same service Greenhaven were around $4000 less expensive.

They were also incredibly accommodating of any changes we wanted to make and weren't phased by any 'out of the box' requests. I found Carly at Greenhaven to be very helpful and professional. She ensured that the funeral went very smoothly and found an even better venue than the one I was hoping to use close to my home when that closer venue was fully booked. It was far less stressful for me to know that Greenhaven was able to include extra things in the total cost of the funeral rather than expecting me to arrange them with third parties. For example, Carly prepared a DVD photographic tribute to my late husband (that I had no ability to create for myself) which a friend later described as "absolutely brilliant" and was able to arrange live streaming of the service for friends and family who live overseas so that they could feel that they were attending the funeral if they wanted to view it either on the day or later, at a more convenient time for them. I would recommend Greenhaven without hesitation.

I had never experienced the grim task of selecting a funeral director and planning a funeral before, but from my first phone call with Carly it seemed likely that the Greenhaven team would handle our funeral arrangements in a personalised, straight-forward and professional manner. We were not disappointed. In the midst of a stressful and sad time, it was was extremely reassuring to feel that Dad was being taken care of respectfully and that all aspects of the service were being handled. Mario neither pushed us nor rushed us for decisions, giving us all the time we needed to think through and prepare the perfect content for Dad's service and Carly kept in contact to ensure that we were happy with the final details at every stage. It was comforting to know that the owner of the business was so hands-on and in control of all the arrangements. All we had to do was provide the photos, the songs and the memories! It was also really impressive that the whole Greenhaven team were in attendance on the day of the service; a testament to your truly personalised approach to each funeral. My brothers wife recently passed away after a long struggle with cancer. The last few weeks being particularly hard. In our situation it was hard to know when to start making plans. I shopped around and spoke to many companies and they were all very kind and considerate but only Greenhaven were the right fit and offered the flexibility I thought we would need. No sooner had I confirmed with Carly that we would like them to handle the service things ramped up and within days our sweet beautiful Renee past. The suffering of her immediate family had been great so they decided they wanted to hold the funeral as soon as possible. Carly was nothing short of amazing. I called her late on a Sunday and everything was ready to go by the Tuesday morning. Nothing was to hard or not possible and everything was done with extreme care and consideration with all our requests accommodated. As is often the case you reflect on things and think about what you could do better etc. The service Carly arranged was exactly what the family wanted, I wouldn't have changed a thing. If you are looking for someone to help you navigate and determine how you want to pay tribute to your loved ones then you should definitely consider Greenhaven. As I was organising a cremation from interstate, they were able to organise fiding nice clothes from an op-shop (and did a fantastic job), and posted the ashes to me once they were available.

When my Mum died suddenly in July 2015 I didn't know what to do. I almost succumbed to the pressure Tobin Bros were putting on me after I rang their help line. I am so glad that I didn't. Mum's funeral was as beautiful and individual as her. A real celebration of her life. When my Dad followed Mum less than a year later I knew exactly who to call and Carly was there for us once again. I was fortunate that Carly and Greenhaven Funerals were recommended to me by a friend, because it was the best advice I took at a very stressful time, for a wonderful send off for my wife. Carly listened very carefully to my requirements for the funeral and paid attention to all of the details. We wanted a burial first and a farewell ceremony afterwards at another venue and nothing was a problem. The details were very important to me, especially as my wife and I had discussed these details years ago and she wanted a joyful celebration. We wanted smiles, laughing and humour and Carly’s team respected our wishes and encouraged people to be joyful. Carly’s suggestion to hold the farewell ceremony at the Sandringham Yacht Club with the added peace and calm of the ocean in the background, made me happy, at a very sad time. When small unforeseen issues arose, Carly kept me informed and provided me options. Carly was not fazed by our requests for lots of green balloons, a bright blue cloud covered coffin, lollies and our weird sense of humour. Carly reassured me about the Greenhaven's team's care of my wife’s body. Carly openly and respectfully answered my questions about other unpleasant details, which accompany death, of which I had no experience. Eliza in the team, helped us with the DVD photo and music tribute at the last minute and ensured that all of the technical requirements worked. Also, she fastidiously tested the equipment at the venue, before the event. It was obvious that Carly worked closely with our chosen celebrant to ensure that the timings and events were seamless on the day. Carly and her team went above and beyond to make the ceremony special for myself and our friends. People went out of their way to let me know how impressed they were by the Greenhaven Funeral team. It is without hesitation that I would like to recommend Greenhaven Funerals. They were very professional and provided a unique and customised service.

When Carly & Tim say nothing is too much trouble they absolutely mean it, from our personal requests for our 28 y.o son not to be placed in a coffin until he absolutely had to, to a gathering with flair. Words cannot express our heartfelt thanks for the above & beyond effort for our son Ben's farwell. We asked for a non traditional funeral for Ben & that's exactly what we had, perfect for our son.

I first met Carly a couple of years ago with my brothers funeral. My wife and I were very impressed with the way Carly and Staff at Greenhaven Funerals made very difficult times easier, with their caring professional approach and assistance in arrangements for his send off. It was a very difficult time for myself and my wife with the loss of our son born 23 weeks . As anyone can imagine you don't know what to do and emotions take over and everything seems daunting . We were still in hospital at the time we had to arrange a funeral for our baby Leon . The hospital suggested a big chain funeral service , so I called and was taken back at the coldness and somewhat uncaring attitude of them . I looked on the Internet for something better and came across Greenhaven funeral service which specialise in these funerals for babies. We dealt with Carly and from the start felt that our little boy would be in safe hands , the caring attention we received was fantastic . She went above and beyond to help us out in difficult secumstances . She came to the hospital to arrange where to have the service , suggested the perfect setting in Port Melbourne and was always contactable about music and how the service was going to be held , suggesting verses , music, poems etc . She picked up Leon from the hospital and took great care of him till the service . Carly made saying goodbye to our son very special and I would highly recommend her to anyone, every step of the way was Handled with caring and respect for us in difficult times . Carly even after the service dropped by our house to drop off Leon to us in the urn which she helped us in picking the right one for our boy . No detail was overlooked, down to 3D textas being provided (for the children and family to decorate the coffin). We looked into funeral directors a while before my father actually died, which meant we could take a bit of time to compare a few companies. We focused on smaller companies - without necessarily knowing the industry, from looking at websites the smaller companies seemed more personal and flexible. Greenhaven was both of these, which was apparent when Carly came to meet us at my sister's place to describe her services. And while cost wasn't the most important factor for us, Greenhaven also happened to have the cheapest quote. When my father did pass away, Greenhaven was great. Carly was very patient as we made the many difficult decisions, small and large, about exactly how we wanted to remember my father and celebrate his life. I remember she said that there's no "right way" to do it, and whatever we chose to do was "right". On the day of the funeral, Carly (who we had as our celebrant) guided us through the service. It might sound stupid, but you could tell that she had done it before - practical, composed, compassionate. I'm very happy with our choice of Greenhaven as our funeral director.

Recently I was required to make funeral arrangements for my mother in law's partner after he passed away from cancer. After meeting funeral celebrant, Kristine Rawlinson, I decided to have Greenhaven Funerals quote on his funeral. I was pleasantly surprised at the total price quoted to me. After accepting the quote I was pleased in the manner Kristine arranged so many aspects of the service from her celebrant presentation including a beautiful poem, organizing the funeral arrangements with the cemetery, preparation of booklets and the after service refreshments. Her attention to detail was outstanding on gathering information on the deceased life and seeking the subsequent approval from us on all aspects of the service. This was all done in the space of only three days. Kristine presented a wonderful service interspersed with perfect music breaks and a poem. It complemented perfectly the other speakers. The funeral was commented on by those that attended as a beautiful celebration of his life. Feedback from all who attended on all aspects was extremely positive. Dad's passing was very sudden. When the hospital told us about dad's condition, I have started to look for a funeral service provider. Carly was very sincere and understanding from the first time we spoke to each other over the phone. A day after our phone conversation, dad has passed away. I texted Carly as I could barely speak, and she has arranged a date for dad's service, liaised with the hospital and contacted our priest within hours. My husband passed away in October after 2 years of painful cancer. After 5 minutes on the phone with Carly I felt confident that this was the right funeral parlor for me. Carly made arrangements to pick my husband up from palliative care and was out at my place within a couple of hours. She was very caring and sensitive to my needs. She kept in contact with me and my son and reassuring us that everything was going to plan. On the day of the funeral Carly picked us up at the front door and took us to the crematorium. The funeral went like clockwork and I have had so many comments on what a lovely funeral it was. When the ashes were ready to be picked up Carly brought them back to my place. Carly goes that extra step that other funeral parlors seem to forget. I have dealt with several funeral parlors and none of them have come up to the standard of Green Haven. Losing a Family member is an emotionally draining time, I was relieved when Carly and her team took control of our Dads funeral, Carly immediately started to organise the procedures to make the process easier for us, she went out of her way to pick up clothing from me that we wanted Dad to wear, she also sent us the wonderful Kristine, I immediately felt at ease with Kristine, it was like talking to a friend. Kristine did Dads Eulogy and Photo tribute she organised photos via email from Queensland where my Brothers Live. Kristine was very open to any ideas we might like to include in the Funeral, my children who are 10 & 12yrs decided to write on a Tennis ball (my Dad played Tennis most of his life) about the things they will remember about Granddad, Kristine acknowledge this and on their behalf, placed the ball on the coffin, I am sure this is a moment they will always remember. Our Dad never really liked too much fuss made about him, however we did want to express our feelings about what he had always done, which was to care for his Family! My husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness about five months ago and he and I discussed his funeral. He wanted to be put into a cardboard box and that was it. When I saw the article about Carly Dalton and Greenhaven funerals in the Age newspaper I showed it to my husband who agreed that they sounded just right for us. And so I put the article away. When my husband died so suddenly we were bereft and lost. I phoned Greenhaven and spoke to Tim Dalton first explaining that my husband wanted to be placed in a cardboard box. Tim explained that they had cardboard boxes and I knew we had come to the right people. From that moment on we were in safe sensitive hands. Carly visited our family and gently drew out each member,s memories of Alec . From these memories Carly wove a narrative that was all about Alec. She consulted us all the way. She looked after Alec with tenderness and pride in her work. She and Tim took care of all the details with quiet efficiency and such good humour. I particularly appreciated that all expenses were clearly itemised and appeared on the one bill and , yes as they say ,"did not cost the earth" I can recommend Greenhaven funerals with confidence . You won,t be disappointed...in fact we felt as tho we had gained two friends.

It is with sincere gratitude that I write this review of Greenhaven Funeral Services. Carly and I went to high school together and lost contact about 20 years ago. Through social media I reconnected with her and discovered what she was doing. In May this year my Grandmother had a fall and broke her hip. She had an operation but at 93 years old never fully recovered and passed away later that week. It was all unexpected in spite of her age. My Dad made enquiries at one of the bigger funeral directors and was shown their packages. I suggested I call Carly to find out about Greenhaven's services and she kindly obliged and met me and my family within hours of the call. Carly has always been an approachable, warm and caring individual and I was to relearn how unique she truly is. She gently guided us through what needed to be done and took care of and gave us direction on the many aspects of planning a funeral. Carly's emphasis was on finding out what our wishes were - no packages here. You are treated as individuals not numbers. Carly made regular contact with us to provide updates as Nan had to go to the Coroner. She also offered reassurance that our plans would go ahead as time ticked away and Nan had not been released. This was most appreciated as I live 4000 kms away in Perth and had to organise extended time off work. Carly is genuinely passionate about her business and the families that come across her path. My Dad, my sisters and our families are so thankful that we reconnected with you and that you held our hand in our time of need. If you find yourself needing the services of a funeral director I would highly recommend Greenhaven for their care and unique approach in providing a memorable service to honour your loved one. Carly showed sincere compassion from the first moment I spoke to her by phone, and also when she came to visit us that same day to discuss the funeral arrangements of my beloved husband. As this was a very sudden death, Terry was taken to the Coroner's Office and Carly guided us through the process very efficiently. We have a very unusual last name and when Carly spoke at the service for Terry we were very impressed that she pronounced our name correctly. Everything Carly did for us was done professional and compassionate and at all times she maintained contact with our family. Nothing seemed to be too much for Carly. I appreciate everything that she has done and would recommend Greenhaven Funerals without any hesitaiton.

My 39 year old brother passed suddenly. I had no idea of how to handle the practical things, or the processes involved, so I blindly made a few calls to the larger funeral homes. Carly was referred to me by a family member, and after contacting her, I remember thinking, thank goodness, here's someone who can gently and professionally guide me from A to B! And was happy to explain the answers to so many of my questions. This included organising the death notice, the funeral notice, dealing with the coroner, transportation, documents, the preparation of my brother, the eulogy, the funeral preparation and so many other tiny details. We had picked a customised coffin, in AFL Western Bulldog colours, with an Australian flag. It was made beautifully and I know Carly went well out of her way to make this happen. All of our requests were met, in a kind, understanding and compassionate manner with a sense of humour (important in our family!). On the day, the biggest and most repeated compliment was "it was as if my brother had planned this funeral himself". It captured his essence perfectly. All of our thanks go to Carly and Tim for their patience and professionalism during such a sad, sad time for our family. I cannot imagine that my brother's life celebration could have been any more perfect.

I would like to share my experience of working with Carly Dalton from Greenhaven Funerals. It is obviously a very sad time when you lose a loved one, regardless of the circumstances. Carly was my saviour as she took care of absolutely every detail, guiding me through all the various decisions that needed to be made. My Dad became very ill and passed away after 7 weeks. If you are in a similar position, I would strongly encourage you to be prepared early. Carly had the plan and nothing was too much trouble for her, including picking up clothes and dropping back jewellery. She even returned Dad's ashes to me with a beautiful card and took the time to check in that I was okay. She patiently answered all the questions my kids asked about her job. The caterers she recommended were fantastic, just the perfect amount of food and of a good quality. Everything including the cost of the church was on the one invoice, making it simple. She works with her husband Tim and they have the personal touch that only a small business can deliver with consistency. Carly is a true professional.

How do you describe the services of a funeral director? It is not a service you would normally write down in your contacts for 'future reference'. However, should the need unfortunately arise again, I will call my new family friends Carly and Tim to handle the affairs of the funeral I may be involved with. After many years of fighting Alzheimer's, my mother who was always a proud person departed barely unnoticed. I needed to honour my mother with dignity, respect and some fun. Carly assisted me to create an experience that involved music, orations, a DVD tribute within an audience who knew my mother not when she was ill but when she was young and full of life. What makes Greenhaven stand out for me? That we could work together to create a memorable occasion to share the life of my mother and not simply a funeral service, and that their personal involvement whilst professional was also friendly and positive.

Right from the start Carly was sensitive to my needs, and went out of her way to discover the unique qualities of the aunt who looked after me from the age of four. She was a great encouragement every step of the way, and the end result was a simple funeral service which those present agreed was exactly what Molly would have wanted. Many funeral services are professional, but Greenhaven adds that unique personal touch that these days is often hard to find. This being the most traumatic time in ones life loosing dad. One would not know were to start. My sister and mother chose to be with Greenhaven Funerals simply because the directors Carly and Tim were so helpful and professional and treated them as if they were part of the family. They are new to this profession, but, one would think they were doing it for years. They made it all so uncomplicated and they attended to all our requests and needs with a can do attitude. Dad looked so at peace at the showing due to the excellent preparations that Carly and Tim had done. The day of dad's funeral everything went like clockwork from start to finish. Dear Carly & Tim My heartfelt thanks for the way you undertook the funeral arrangement for my dear wife Sue. True to her environmentalism Sue left strict instructions for a natural in-ground burial requiring the return of her remains to nature with minimum environmental impact. From my research it became clear that Greenhaven was the only funeral service in Melbourne that has a clear understanding of eco-burials notwithstanding the inherent simplicity of the approach. Your company's professionalism, care and compassion ensured the burial at Healesville Cemetery was a beautiful moment for Sue's family, allowing us to reflect deeply on the strong and wonderful woman Sue was and to farewell her mortal remains as she wished. Your role as celebrant at Sue's remembrance services, held in both Melbourne and Brisbane, was also wonderfully executed and resulted in a send off Sue would have been very proud of. On 10th October 2013 we lost a beloved member of our family. My parents lost their only son and I lost my big brother. He was a beautiful person and much loved by family, friends and especially his little sister. Our family had the daunting task of not only coming to terms with his death, but organising his cremation. It was something I never expected to be dealing with so soon. My father had spent considerable time contacting funeral companies and was not making any head way. I did a search on the computer looking for funeral companies that were accommodating and affordable. As I started my search, reality began to set in that my brother was no longer with us and it didn't take long for the tears to start flowing again. I knew it would be difficult to contain my emotions and to maintain my composure whilst preparing to discuss funeral arrangements for my brother with strangers over the phone. Most funeral companies operate 24 hours so I decided to make contact with 2 of the large companies late in the evening. The first funeral company responded with some empathy but were straight to the point with their dealings and I also found the price of a direct cremation very costly. My brother did not want a funeral with all the trimmings, just a simple cremation. The next company I rang were very professional but again they appeared very businesslike and there was no sympathy for what we were enduring. I searched for other funeral companies and the more I searched, the more heartbroken and depressed I became. My brother lived in Melbourne and our family lived in Queensland so it was quite a task to find a funeral company that were willing to come to the party and help us, let alone be affordable. I came across a website that sold merchandise for funerals and it was during my conversation with them that they recommended Carly and the staff at Greenhaven Funeral Services located in Melbourne, Victoria. I had almost given up but thought it couldn't hurt to ring. On the verge of tears I rang the number and was surprised to be greeted on the phone by a very friendly voice so I knew straight away that it was worth the call. I spoke to Carly who was very sincere and expressed genuine sadness for our loss. She offered a sympathetic ear and listened to me weep and mourn the loss of my brother. I explained the distance and the fact that our family were unable to fly to Melbourne to organise the cremation. Carly did not judge our family nor did she in any way take advantage of our loss by â€˜hitting' us up for pricing. She listened patiently to my ranting and understood the need for me to be emotional when dealing with the death of my beautiful brother. To Carly the loss of a loved one is not just a business. To Carly each client is treated as part of her family and the loved ones we have lost are treated with respect and dignity whilst in their care. Our first phone call was quite lengthy and detailed and for the first time within a week after my brother had passed, I felt at ease knowing that he was in the safe hands of Carly and the staff at Greenhaven Funeral Services. After my father contacted Carly, he too was relieved and was ever so grateful for the service Greenhaven Funerals provided. Darren was released from the coroner's court into the safe hands and care of Greenhaven Funerals within days after speaking to Carly. It was full steam ahead. Carly's prompt service was exceptional and she kept us informed and up to date with the process from start to finish. There is nothing greater than knowing that your loved one is being looked after and cared for in their moment of passing with respect and dignity. Every time Carly rang she made sure that we knew Darren was in good hands and that everything that could be done to ease our suffering was being done! Nothing can replace the loss of a loved one and right up until Darren was cremated, Carly offered emotional support and in many respects, became my counsellor. Her reassurance enabled me to deal with losing my brother that much easier. Although no one likes to speak about the costs involved, and no amount of money will bring back a loved one, the fact is we still need someone to provide this service and it takes a very special company and caring people to deliver this. Greenhaven's prices are very competitive and reasonable and in fact this was one of the main reasons we dealt with them. In Addition, the staff's professionalism and compassion towards the family was most endearing and respectful and for this reason we chose Greenhaven Funerals. Darren was a colourful person in life and in death and I sent a picture of my brother with the family to Carly so she could see him as the fun, friendly, caring and smiley person he was in life that we all adored and loved. I didn't want him to be remembered as a motionless vessel. Carly has shared my loss and given me much needed comfort during this very sad time. My family and I are forever grateful for the service Greenhaven Funerals have provided and we have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to everyone, particularly when losing a loved one. To me Carly is my guardian angel and Greenhaven Funerals will be forever in my memories and in my heart. I chose Greenhaven from the internet I'd never heard of them. Anyone can construct an attractive web-site, and choosing someone on that basis alone has to be risky. But this time was lucky: performance was every bit as good as the promise - in fact, better. With great skill Carly managed to iron out different, even conflicting input from different family members, and truly "made it happen". She was available at all times. Apart from everything else, she effectively filled the role of celebrant as well as that of undertaker. I was so glad that we didn't go to one of the big firms. One thing about going to a small firm is that you can't be brushed off onto the juniors that don't exist. I doubt that the service we would we would have received from one of the big firms would have approached the service from Greenhaven. Greenhaven was cheap in price (the cheapest of the several prices from several undertakers, and around half the price of some) but without any corresponding cheapness of quality.

At all times Carly showed compassion, understanding and respect for the stress and grief our family was experiencing while providing a caring and human element in the way she interacted with us. Carly took great care of our Mum, respecting her life and death and showed understanding for the person Mum was to us. Carly and Tim were extremely professional and caring when it came to arranging Mum's funeral. I think one of the most impressive things was we could contact them at all hours of the night to make last minute changes/updates to the service, something I would imaging you could only do during office hours with the major funeral companies.

I couldn't imagine anyone more caring and sensitive to have looked after my tiny niece, born sleeping. My sister and her partner found that Carly was outstanding in providing what I can only describe as 'above and beyond' what was expected under very difficult circumstances. I contacted Greenhaven funerals because I was looking for a smaller, independent company that might embrace a non-traditional ceremony and a greener approach to the funeral. Carly was wonderful. She organised a beautiful wicker casket, was happy for us to run the ceremony in our own way and she was supportive throughout. Although my dad did not look his best at the end, Carly and Tim treated my dad with the utmost respect. Carly listened to what we wanted for my dad and did not bat an eye when we presented her and Tim with a 'special' urn for my dad's ashes - if you want a caring and compassionate couple to help you in your hardest days, look no further than here - my family were very impressed - Carly and Tim took the time to listen and help us through a very tough time.

My son selected to go with Greenhaven on a 'gut' feel after talking with Carly on the phone and boy was he correct. Carly was wonderful, warm and caring. She put us all at ease and made our very stressful time so much less stressful. With all the questions and worries we had, Carly was always there to help. Nothing was too much trouble. Under difficult circumstances the day was perfect. Somehow Carly and Tim even made the sun shine for us !! And thank you Tim for saving my shoe in the mud !! So many friends made comment about how lovely the service was and this is all thanks to Carly's calm ways. My father past away suddenly with very little knowledge of a cremation ceremony for my families religion is catholic I had reviewed and contacted 3 other companies to widen my education on such maters and found that they all varied in price and expectation. Having only reviewed the topic a day before his death I knew that after speaking to Carly from Greenhaven that choosing them was in my opinion the better choice. Carly made me at ease and her professionalism and confidence on choices that may appeal to my family on the day of the ceremony was so easy to decide once I shared my views on how my father wanted his celebration to be and the type of man he was. Everything that was requested was thorough and to detail I could not fault the day! Carly has a nature that is calming and has a very special quality that makes you believe that she has everything under control which allows you to go through the emotions that you may be having without a worry of anything not being done or forgotten She is blessed with great communication skills to complete any task given to her! I recommend Greenhaven to anyone that I may meet that may ask me for a funeral director! Thank you Greenhaven team greatly appreciated!!!

Carly at Greenhaven funerals assisted us when our baby girl, Carrie Sarah, was stillborn. She was compassionate and professional throughout the process, and I felt so comfortable having Carly take care of my baby. She helped make a very difficult situation easier. I felt she went 'above and beyond' to provide that personal touch. She took extra photos of Carrie before she was cremated, and did little hand and foot prints. And she made sure there was a teddy to keep Carrie company!! She evn posted some touching words on the Greenhaven Facebook wall. I couldn't have asked for more. Carly, thank you so very much for helping us celebrate the life of my beautiful wife Sandra. Being a very disciplined person and someone that plans things through in detail, my first contact with Carly was at a time when I believed that I had a lot of time to â€˜shop around' for the funeral director that I felt most comfortable working with. Sandra's demise was at a speed that surprised everyone, and I found myself in the unfamiliar territory of being out of control. Fortunately, I had sufficient time to realise that Carly was the person I could trust to take control and deliver. From the time of collecting Sandra when she had passed away through to delivery of her ashes to me, Carly gave me an enormous amount of time. She was contactable at all times (I remember asking whether she ever went to sleep!), and provided me with very good suggestions and recommendations. She is also a great listener, and shows empathy without being overly â€˜gushy'. In summary, Carly found out exactly what we wanted and then assumed total control and gave me the confidence to let her. Carly, you are very talented at what you do. Sandra had given us instructions on how she wanted â€˜her Service' to be conducted, and even selected a couple of verses and quirky songs to be played. Sandra's wish was that it was to be a true celebration of life .... â€œonly tears of happiness were allowedâ€. Carly respected this and did a marvelous job of making it work, while retaining the dignity of the occasion. The Service went-off exactly as I had envisaged, and what Sandra had requested. Under most difficult circumstances the day was perfect. Again, Carly, thank you so very much for taking some of the stress out of the most difficult time of my life. Tony

Carly, and Tim, of Greenhaven really know what they're doing. From the very first phone call I instantly felt comfortable with Carly and knew I didn't need to look any further. Carly has a very soothing voice, which puts you at ease even though someone close to you has just died. Carly took good care of my dad ensuring dignity and confidence the whole time. She stays in touch throughout the process and is very contactable. Carly is also super professional and a great listener. I found her willingness to please, and to be flexible and kind a real advantage. I was very impressed with Carly, Tim and Greenhaven generally. A very well organized and well connected person in charge is what you need at a difficult time and Greenhaven just takes care of everything, leaving you to have as much or as little involvement as you're comfortable with. Carly was really an absolute pleasure to work with.

The husband of a dear friend passed away three weeks ago. It was a difficult experience made more so by the fact that none of us had ever arranged a funeral service or cremation before and had to work within a restrictive budget. What was reassuring about finding GreenHaven is that they are upfront about their costs, and clearly set out what you can expect, as well as the optional extras available. They currently have packages ranging from $1820 to $4250. Their website is well laid out, which made it easy to understand and showed that they have the right sensibility for such an event. From the first contact, Carly was calm, friendly, organised and understanding. She made everything easy. She always responded in a timely manner to phone calls and emails, and kept us up-to-date with how things were going. She came over early to get the paper work sorted, so she could pick up the husband's body the next day from the Coroner and start preparation for the viewing as soon as possible. At the same meeting, the chapel was booked, and all that remained were for us to inform family/friends of where to meet. What a relief. She also arranged to pick up clothing for the viewing and, at that meeting, spent time with my friend to discuss his life, her favourite memories of him and the songs she wanted played at the service. Carly then put together a moving and fitting eulogy and ceremony service in record time, which we were able to edit and refine prior to the service. The service was held less than a week after the husband's passing, and was conducted by both Carly and her husband Tim. It was lovely, and almost everyone was deeply moved. We had chosen to organise the flowers ourselves (though they offer this service too), but they set up candles and put together a video photo montage of my friend and her husband's life together. Carly had also developed memorial cards with the husband's picture and the words "In Loving Memory", which everyone could hold during the service and take away to keep. GreenHaven's contact details are also included on this card. I think everyone took away a card as a keepsake; there were hardly any left in the stack by the end of the service. (Tip: Check the placement of the image and words on the card before they go off to the printers to ensure it is laid out exactly as you wish.) Though my friend's home is rather far from town, Carly arranged to personally hand over the ashes there, and spent a bit of time with my friend before she left. All in all, we were very pleased and very grateful for the excellent service we received. Highly recommend!

The loss of our daughter was very traumatic for us and we didn't know what to do regarding arrangements, everything needs to be done so quickly. Carly was so lovely, she took over every aspect of the arrangements from the coroner to the cremation and looked after our daughter so well, leaving us free to grieve. Lisa Foster is a caring and understanding celebrant, everything about the service was beautiful and Lisa was able to express our feelings and paint a portrait of a life lived and lost so well. Both Carly and Lisa were in contact with us at all times, day or night to ensure we were coping and helped in any way they could. Greenhaven care about providing the best service at as low a cost as possible they really went above an beyond our expectations, both of us will be "lay buying" our own funerals with them too so that the path will be easier when we pass. We cannot thank Greenhaven enough for the kindness and compassion they have shown us and the care they took of our loved one.

Carly and Tim helped my family when my Uncle Ron passed. They were compassionate and thoughtful on a personal level and took special care with my Mother and her sister who were understandably particularly distressed. Carly took the worry out of all of what seemed to be the massive amounts of things to organise. I was living in a fussy world of blur, but felt confident that Carly had the whole situation handled in a very competent manner. She asked all the right questions, knew who the family and friends were and explained the order of what was to happen. She organised absolutely everything and the service was beautiful with all the right touches..... things that we would never have thought of. The whole experience was especially memorable for all the right reasons.
