I was asked to be left on hold and then forgotten about and hung up on. After I put that phone incident aside; at my next appointment, I explained nicely yet specifically what I wanted this time round, as my last cut wasn't actually executed as it had been discussed just before the haircut. I felt that this conversation frustrated the hairdresser. Maybe they knew I was being polite secretly wasn't happy with the outcome.. I didn't actually want them to know I wasn't happy out of fear of offending their work. This conversation however as careful as I was; was met with a very snappy tone. I tried to make polite conversation after the tension from that conversation and mid small talk during the blow dry where the hairdresser who usually carries the conversation was dead silent. And unhappy seeming. I know I was heard as I project well; but after I said something lighthearted and totally unrelated small talk in its most trying to soothe the tension form (trying to lighten the mood) the hairdresser walked off on me. Completely silent. The other hairdresser working there at the time saw this. and looked a bit surprised. What I said didn't warrant that reaction. I understand having an off day. But this was crossing the line into not giving me very much respect as a person.. to feel it's okay to treat me like that. The emotions I experienced that day are more concerning than anything else. And there is a lot of defensiveness coming from the business to the online forums already I feel. So for my own wellbeing I unfortunately needed to voice my opinion in this avenue as previous replies do not convey open discussion. But without speaking up I'm doing myself a disservice. They have been unfriendly.. two people who work there have been unfriendly. And online are not open to respectful discussion. So I'm expecting an upset reply. This is why I'm trying to remain anonymous, as I was a long time customer but I was hurt. And remaining silent about my experience only hurts me further. I didn't deserve that. I hope that this complaint is sincerely taken on board and I hope they are sorry for loosing a very reasonable customer.

From my first phone call I knew I was in good hands just by the quality of care I received by the staff, and then arriving for my first appointment just exceeded my expectations! From the fabulous salon to the hair cut, wash and style and learning how to maintain my beautiful curls was the best experience!

Where do I begin, firstly Yolanda called me to see when they could fit me in, so warm and welcoming towards a prospective client. Made booking and went to cut my hair today, WOW what an amazing experience. Phil sat with me for at least 10 mins just listening to my story and then explaining what he thought could be achieved. And then the wizardry commenced, giving my hair new life, creating curls I could only dream of. Having had my hair cut all over the world, Phil is up there with the best!! Not only has Phil exceeded my expectations but his whole team were personable and very knowledgeable. Thank you so cutters and anyone looking for a great hair cut look no further. Next colour appointment .....

So Haircutters you've done it again. Your service, care and the way you cut & styled my daughter's hair was incredibly inspiring. We have now been 'curl' blessed twice, first with one daughter and then with another. Your attention to detail, advice and the life you added to her curls was extraordinary. She didn't want to wash her hair for a while, stunning work, the friendliest staff and fantastic service is why we 'want to return' for more. Thank you Phillip & crew, your work was outstanding.

Not expecting to have any luck on such short notice, I rang this morning and enquired as to whether there were any free appointments for a style cut and blow wave. I was given an appointment within half an hour! From the start of the appointment until the end Belinda's care and expertise was clearly evident. After explaining the trouble I have with style cuts sitting nice due to my naturally very curly hair Belinda explained not only why this happened but armed me with a bunch of tips and tricks to use in the future. When I enquired as to product suggestions she gave me lots of information without any pressure to buy and even told me what I should preference in order not to break the bank. The salon has an up market feel without that horribly pretentious feeling some places have where you're too scared or intimidated to even ask a question. All the hairdressers seemed bubbly and personable. I've left with the best haircut I've had in years! Big thank you to Belinda and the rest of the team. Definitely a repeat customer! Jaclyn

After 15 years of coming to SO Haircutters to have my colour and cut done regularly every 6-8 weeks, one of the things I love, is how the salon is like a community. Everyone knows me personally by name and it feels like I'm part of a family. Katina knows my hair and how to perfectly tame it.

I've been coming to the salon for approximately 1.5 years and have quite a few of my friends coming here now because I've spoken so highly of my experience here. It's fabulous!! The staff are super friendly and down to earth - not at all pretentious. Each person that has cut and styled my hair has done a fantastic job that no other salon is able to replicate!! 5 stars all round for the MOST lovely and skilled hairdressers! Definitely recommend!!!

I have been coming to So Haircutters for more than a decade, so clearly I am very happy with the service I receive during my regular 6-7 weekly foil colour and cuts. I have always been very happy with my blonde colour. The salon is extremely personal and friendly, which is lovely, and I always enjoy great coffee and tea, and sometimes I treat myself with the delicious home made brownies. My hairdresser Katina is fantastic and a great colourist and cutter. The salon is always happy to meet my needs, and flexibly accommodate any appointment changes. Thank you So Haircutters!

I've been getting my hair done at SO Haircutters for over 15 years and I can confidently say, that I have never been disappointed! My hair ends up looking beautiful - always - and I constantly get compliments. My stylists always take time and care, consistently, to make sure that I'm always looking the best version of myself. All the staff are so lovely, friendly and down to earth which creates a really great vibe in the salon, even at the busiest of times. Super great coffee and brownies as well!

Belinda enquired what I would like, explained throughout the haircut what she was doing and created a style that suited both my needs and lifestyle which I was really happy with. My relationship with SO Haircutters has lasted 15 years. With every appointment I have had I cannot ever remember leaving disappointed. The staff, professionalism and expertise at the salon is the best I have come across (yes, I have tried other hairdressers). My hair cuts & colour always grow out so well that even after 6 weeks from having my hair done, I'm still receiving compliments from family and friends. Simply put, I love coming here and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!

Absolutely love coming here! I always feel really welcome by all the staff and the overall customer service experience is 10/10. Shout out to Kat! Amazing hairdresser and always gives great, honest advice about what will work and what won't. Could not recommend SO Haircutters highly enough.

I value consistent, high quality service - colour & cut. I have had the same hairdresser for 8 years and I come every 5 weeks. The quality and standard at So Haircutters is excellent and my hairdresser is nothing short of a magician! The Kerastase products work for my hair and the salon is easy enough to get to.

So Haircutters has been one of the best hairdressers I've ever been to in Melbourne. All the staff are always polite, and I feel very well looked after. Philip has never failed to give me a cut which just gets better each day afterwards. The excellent relaxing head massage with the luxurious shampoo, little seasonal touches and treats, special offers and good advice make this an experience I always look forward to.

I have only ever had the very BEST of experiences with Phil, Kat, Yol and the team at So Haircutters . I'm welcomed into the salon with warmth and friendliness. Kat & Phil's knowledge with my particular type of curly hair has been fantastic and I trust them which is one of the main reasons I now drive over an hour to have my hair & heart taken care of by these wonderful people! This feels like a second home for customers. It's a comfortable salon where I enjoy being a part of and listening to laidback, personable conversations. I enjoy the positive energy that the staff share. They sincerely care and provide valuable and easy to understand advise. I particularly love the inspirational quotes on the walls.

I found the salon when looking for a local hairdresser and after reading the reviews online decided to try SO haircutters. I've been very very happy with every salon visit since 2013. Kat listens and always has great ideas to recommend. I totally trust her as she's taken the time to know and understand my hair as well as educating me with her expert advise on how to look after my hair at home. I also appreciate all the other “little” things that make my experience in the salon one that I look forward to like the coffee, the brownies, the magazines, their attention and the really friendly team that always make me feel welcome. I was always on the hunt for the perfect hairdresser across the other side of town until I discovered that they are now locally, only 3 minutes from home.

Well where do I start... I can't thank Yolanda enough for ensuring she fit me in for my restyle yesterday and Phil for the amazing haircut! I would probably have to be one of the most fussy clients there is when it comes to my hair due to the fact I have been a hairdresser for over 14 years. It is extremely difficult to find a stylist who is on the same page as you when you are in the industry however I can honestly say this salon is second to none! The service from the shampoo to the coffee and then hairstyle were impeccable! Put it this way.. my husband now has an appointment with Phil in 3 weeks because I am so impressed with the service I received and I would love for my husband to experience the same treatment I did. This is a huge deal for me as I could easily cut his hair at home as I have been the past 4 years but I truly believe that this salon should be shared with the people I love! Book your next salon appointment with SO HAIRcutters... you will not be disappointed!!!!

My first visit at So Haircutters made me feel like I'd been a client for years. The service was attentive as I enjoyed too many brownies and coffees - as good as I'd pick up from my local haunt Proud Mary. It didn't surprise me that among the buzzy conversation taking place in the salon, there was discussion that next year they're celebrating their 20 years on Queens Parade. On that fact alone, I already trusted their reputation and expertise. There's was no airs and graces about this friendly salon making me feel right at home with everyone I came in contact with. One of the (many) things that I enjoyed, was that my amazing colourist Paige, also cut and styled my hair giving me the chance to build a rapport with one person. We even started a hair plan for my upcoming wedding. In the three or so hours that I was there, all the stylists were busy and the phone rang off the hook which is the best testament of the reputation that I followed to the salon. To top it all off, my hair loved the experience as much as I did and received endless compliments when I went out for drinks that night. Very happy.
