I don't usually leave reviews but I was so happy with the result and whole experience, I have to shout it from the roof tops. From being so wonderfully accommodated from the beginning, making an extremely last minute appointment ( thanks Ange). From the moment you walk into the salon, you are made to feel a million dollars. I was greeted warmly by all staff and the DeXta the Salon mascot... Alicia my stylist was engaged, understanding and really listened to my wants/needs, but also offered great input and opinion when needed. All staff, were helpful and seemed to work a a team. During the service the application of colour was precise, gentle and the scalp massage was to die for. The end result was quite literally a "sunrise", Greys gone and pinky,peach ends galore. Hair was not over styled or product laden, just right! I wish I could post before and after pics. My hair was revolting, dry frizzy and neglected. Now its vibrant, soft and really healthy. I truly have never been this happy after a haircut. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Julia, Alicia, Ange and Boys ( sorry I can't remember your names) You all are amazing x

Samuel and the staff are professional, have a lovely, fun attitude, and are experts at cutting, colouring and styling hair. I have thick frizzy hair and limited time to maintain it with a 15mth-old running around. Samuel has done an amazing job to work with all that! I don't think I've ever been so happy with my hair style, cut and colour. Ever! Thank you xxxooo

I've had a terrible year, it's been pretty rough and my hair's been problematic for so long I've been avoiding dealing with it. I liked Respekt's pun signage so bit the bullet. The lady at the counter was lovely, and her wash and head massage were perfect! Given how anxious I was this was a great way to start. Samuel asked me what I was after and ran though suggestions based on images I brought in re; what would work for me. He talked me through each step and checked with me as he went through the cut and styling. I love it! I haven't found a hairdresser who gets my hair so well in close to a decade. Thank you, Respekt and Samuel, from someone in a pretty fragile space who ended up having a great day. :)

Julia reminded me this week that I have been coming to Respekt for 6 years!! Julia is the hair dresser who cuts your hair exactly as you want!! The team are always delightful, fun and professional with a unique style and a laugh. Love and thanks everyone!!

I went into Respekt yesterday to have a cut and colour. I hadn't made an appointment and the lady who greeted me was very accommodating and was able to shuffle some things around to fit me in. When I arrived for my appointment I was quite vague about what I wanted and Samuel with the help of his iPad was able to provide some great guidance and advice, not just relating to colour and style but also enquiring into my existing hair care routine and best results going forward. Unlike some salons I've been to Samuel offered fantastic insight without the usual feel that I was just being pushed into products. When we found what I was looking for we began and process was relaxing and efficient without ever feeling rushed and the staff were all really attentive offering refreshments on several occasions. Samuel advised me of the price range which I found very reasonable and he also made a point to ask me if I had any particular time frame that he needed to work with or anywhere I had to be, this was a first for me and I found it extremely helpful as sometimes you don't have a clue how long things are likely to take. We rinsed and I received a wonderful head massage while Samuel asked how I would like my hair styled upon completion. I can't say enough what a refreshing change it made that Samuel despite it being close to closing time on a Saturday afternoon, was enthusiastic and maintained a genuine excitement in his work. He had impeccable attention to detail and a real passion for what he did. As he styled my hair I noted how nice it was that whilst maintaining professionalism all the staff seemed to be good friends and genuinely really happy to be there. All that being said at the end of the day the hair is what I was there for and I was thrilled to say I don't think I have ever been so delighted with the outcome, I honestly couldn't fault the hair, the staff, the atmosphere or the cost. I highly recommend both Samuel and Respekt to anyone looking for a good salon!

Emma has been cutting my hair for a few years now and I've always had great comments on my cut and colour. I first visited the salon after asking a stranger where she got her haircut done. The staff are always friendly and I love it how they all stop to say hi when customers walk in....and they all say goodbye. Perfect location too. Cheers, Donna.

Absolutely love this place! I ended up going in by chance one day when I first moved to melbourne 5 years ago, have been going there since. Emma is fanstastic and my favourite hair dresser I've ever had, she always listens to what you want and always manages to produce exactly what I had in mind. She seems to knows what will suit you best. The rest of the team are super friendly. Thanks guys!

I decided to go to RespeKt You Hair 'cause i liked their logo, not sure what I'd be in for, but expecting to pay a fortune. Everyone was really friendly, the coffee was good and I walked out of there, happy with the cut and the price. So, that was more than two years ago. Emma has been cutting my hair eva since, we've tried different things and it's always come up smelling roses (and sometimes peppermint). Usually, I don't like getting products pushed in my direction, however, I always felt Emma was just trying to help - no obligation. And it never gets old, having everyone say hello and goodbye. I live across town now, but still make my way to Windsor (not far from train station). Emma's a delight and a wizard with the scissors. Blitz'n it.

Have been seeing Emma at Respect Your Hair for the past few years now and find the service great! Much different to other hairdressers in that this place is really chilled out and Emma and the others just get it. You don't have to do too much explaining, the results are great and so is the price. It's also the best blow wave I have ever had if you are looking for something other than a cut or colour.

I've been going there for years. I always get what I want. Julia can make new suggestions to do something a bit different to my usual style. I buy their hair products too - all excellent. All the team are great, particularly the dog :-)

I am not a hairdresser, but when I say to Julia what I would like done to my hair she actually listens to me and can work out what I want which is a excellent skill in a hairdresser. Julia and Ange run a professional and relaxed salon, and their team are warm and friendly making my every 6 week appointment one to remember every time I go. Give them a go as you will not be disappointed. I have been going to hairdressers since I was 16 I am now 50 lived in this area for 20 years and been to may salons, I have been with Julia since she has been opened and I will tell you she will be my only hairdresser for ever. Julia you are the best hairdresser.

Fantastic service! The team are always friendly and welcoming, and all very skilled at what they do. Julia's been colouring my hair for a few years and she is a Colour Queen! I'm always mixing up my hair colours and Julia has never failed to satisfy! She always goes above and beyond to achieve the result I'm after, no matter how crazy the colours or change up of the look i'm after. These guys are passionate, skilled, patient, friendly and a great team. wouldn't go anywhere else! Keep up the amazing work.

Warm welcome when you step into the salon. Great suggestions for cuts and colours, but still listening to your own opinions. Everyone in the salon is trying to make you feel comfortable. Great products for home use.

Fab hairdresser made better by their staff, it's not as easy as you'd think to give a great cut, different style & Colour to suit my needs every visit but they pull it off. It's not cheap but not good salon is and for me it's worth the money because I feel better about myself every time I leave and you can't put a price on that! I only wish more of my friends would listen to me & go!!! But then I wouldn't be able to get an appointment...keep up the good work & positive energy.

Great value, every single staff member are amazingly friendly and most importantly - the hair cuts represent the quality I'd expect from a a salons that are far more expensive... The fact that I can get free hair cuts from one of melbournes top salons around around the corner, yet choose to pay for a cut at Respekt says a lot about the whole Respekt experience...

I have been getting my hair cut by Conor for a few years now and he is the best, he always takes the time to ask you what you are after and offers great advice when sought. Everyone is so friendly and you are always greeted with a 'hello' and 'good bye' and they make a great cup of coffee! Would highly recommend a visit to Respekt for your next hair visit!

This could be the friendliest salon I've ever been to, as soon as you walk in the door you're greeted by everyone inside. I usually see Julia, and leave everything from the colour and trim to her. She has way more artistic talent then me, and she's never let me down! She loves to play with vibrant colours and funky tones, and won't let you leave until you are 100% happy. I've also seen Connor and Emma before, and they have been just as brilliant. I would recommend these guys to anyone!

I went in to get a haircut and Julia cut my hair. It was great because I said just do what you want, be creative and see what happens... I was very happy with the end result. I now sported an edgy hairdo which is still getting compliments 3 weeks later. She gave me an excellent scalp massage and generally has a lovely way with her.

When you walk into the salon you are treated as a friend, not just a client, and you get and experience, not just a haircut. Julia listens to what you want, but is not afraid to offer her own opinion which often leads to a better haircut than you had in mind. She is not afraid to break the boundaries so if you really need a change this is the place to be!

I need a low maintenance, stylish haircut. My haircuts with Julia goes something along the lines of "it needs to be low maintenance and look great when I roll out of bed" - she delivers - every single time. The staff are friendly and approachable. The lattes are a bonus and cookies just make my day that much more brighter. I have been seeing Julia for hair styling needs for over 3 years now, and would not consider going to anyone else.

I'm one of those people who passionately dislikes getting their hair cut. I prefer the dentist's chair to the hairdressers - give me a root canal over a blow wave any day. Yet, the staff at Respekt make the entire chopping, shaping and straightening of my locks.. bearable.. maybe even, pleasant. I'm always after sharp lines and bold cuts; no colour, no layers. Julia hears my demands and then creates. The finished product: shiny, sleek beautiful hair chopped in the precise, overbearing way I'd asked! The price is reasonable. The cups of tea are delicious. And the people are talented. I wouldn't choose anyone else to go through the horrifying process of haircutting with.

Ok, so Julia has been cutting my hair for 3yrs now. For a mens haircut, she always manage to make it slightly different. From adding waves to my straight asian hair, to hair tatoo, to assymetrical looks, and the list goes on. Her coffes n chai r pretty amazing too. Staff at Respekt r amazing aswell. Everyones lively, and friendly. I love going in, n regulars such as myself gets discount.... Deffinately worth changing over to. :)
