This is a funky bar with great music and good set up. Tables, couches and standing room. Small dance floor near the bar is good but haven't seen much dancing there as yet. Drinks probably more expensive than your average pub but the set up and envronment makes it worth it. This is a good place to go when you are sick of the typical Ballarat evening scene.
I have eaten here a couple of times now and always left satisfied with a full tummy and an enjoyable meal. They do group bookings where there is lots of room. Decent meals and decent prices. Not too noisy.
Approximate cost: $15.00
Irish Murphy's is a good place to go for live music and good beer. The set up is pretty good, although sometimes too crowded. Lots of people seem to float in and out throughout a night. There is a great band called Half Cut who play on Friday nights and are really good. I haven't eaten there but think you can.
I bought my house through Coastal and now we are leasing it through them. The staff are fantastic and we have had no problems with the tennants they choose for us. They have been able to get good tennants in within a week of advertising.
Santa Fe Cafe is a Mexican restuarant that do steak and ribs too. We went for Mexican and really enjoyed it. The margaritas are lovely and the food was really tasty and quite prompt in arrival. The tables have butcher paper table clothes and they leave you crayons to draw with while you wait which is pretty fun. They also have a blackboard where people write comments on (we didn't ...). Enjoyed it and it was reasonably priced. Probably not the best local Mexican but I'd still go back. It's nice and close to town.
Approximate cost: $19.00
I recently went into Faull's just to have a look at what they had and was quite impressed with the range of shoes, particularly dress/casual shoes for both men and woman. I was looking for some comfortable shoes that would go with a neat casual outfit and match lots of things. I found the shop assistant very helpful and patient. I bought some lovely Planet Shoes which are very comfortable and exactly what I was looking for.
I really enjoyed going to the Loft. It was pretty crowded. More of a good place to go to dance than to sit around and chat with friends. Reasonably priced with reasonable dress code. The last time I went I wasn't really in the mood to be out but ended up having quite a good time which was unexpected.
Moos do great baked potatoes. They have traditional ones with sour cream, coleslaw, garlic butter and cheese or you can experiment with the bolagnese potato, mexican, the list goes on. The staff are really cheerful. The shop also has ice-cream but I haven't tasted those yet. Summer here we come!
Approximate cost: $7.50
I recently went to this Fish n Chip shop as I was having tea at a friend's who had just moved into the area. The order was done quickly, was not too oily and crunchy tasty batter. I think I will consider the drive to Mount Clear for my fish n chips now.
This Pizza Hut is take away only and it really doesn't compare to a lot of the take away pizza places around town. The couple of times I have gone here (I gave them a second chance) I have found that I have to wait too long, the pizza is not brilliant and it costs a lot for take away.
