I stayed at the comfort hotel for 3 nights. The room was dated but clean, to the point of smelling like cleaning products. I had to open the window for a couple of hours to get rid of the smell. The bed was ok, my fiance found it a little uncomfortable but I thought it was fine. We didn't have a balcony & the view was a concrete wall.

The main problem I had was the noise from other rooms & the hallway. You can hear doors shutting constantly. You can also hear conversations from adjoining rooms. We were also kept awake by snoring from the next room.

The hotel advertises that it has foxtel, however there were only 4 foxtel channels, 2 of which were sports. The tv was old so didn't have the digital channels.

The food is a little pricey for what it is but I didn't have any major complaints about it.
To use the internet in our room it cost $20 per day. The staff were friendly were more than happy to print out our boarding passes, which we had forgotten to do, if we emailed them to reception.

If all you need is a room to sleep in then this is fine for the price. If you're stuck the hotel doing work on the computer all weekend like I was then it becomes very claustrophobic not being able to look out the window.

I occasionally go to jamaica blue at Eastland for coffee & a snack. The coffee is usually good but the green tea tastes like dish water. I had breakfast at the one upstairs & it cost me about $45 for two people which I consider quite expensive for breakfast, especially seeing it wasn't a lot of food.

I've been to Balsamic a few times for lunch & dinner. I like the variety of choices on the menu & the food has always been enjoyable. The decor is nice & it's not too noisy. The last time I went for lunch they messed up my order & had to cook it again. When I finally got it it was quite nice. They offered a free cappuccino as compensation.

I got a voucher for La Premiere & decided to see the movie Due Date with my boyfriend. I had been to La Premiere many years ago. Back then you could get complimentary coffee, tea & hot chocolate as well as popcorn & soft drink. I was very disappointed to find out you only get popcorn & soft drink (which I don't drink) free now.
I don't think it's worth paying that much extra for a bit more leg room, slightly more comfortable seats & free popcorn. The cups which we given to put the popcorn in were quite small & had to refill them a couple of times.

If I had paid my own money I would have been very disappointed.

This review is for Sharde Salon, Doncaster East VIC

I hadn't been to Sharde for quite a number of years but I couldn't get an appointment with my regular hairdresser at short notice so I thought I'd give them ago. I was quite nervous about having someone different cut my hair, which is really long & thick, as I'm quite picky about how I like it. I had Vince cut my hair. He took a good amount of time doing it & the quality of the cut was good. He did a really good job of blow drying it but the cut is not what I asked for. The back is not really in a V shape as I asked & he got a bit scissor happy with the layers around the face, but maybe I should have specified not to go too short at the front. Having said that I'm not completely unhappy with the result. Luckily my hair grows super fast so probably in a week or two I'll be really happy with it & no doubt it will keep a good shape. The product he put in my hair also smells really nice. I would probably use them again if I couldn't get in at my usual place but I would definitely be more specific about what I wanted next time.

Approximate cost: $60
