You simply cannot visit Hobart with visiting MONA!
What a fabulous day and experience MONA was.
I highly recommend taking the ferry out there, as it's definitely part of the overall "Crazy art" experience.
The exhibitions were unique and excellent (for the most part). OBviously, not all of this type of art will appeal to everyone ,but the eclectic collection was certainly impressive. Some pieces were contrived and merely for shock-value, but mostly I truly enjoyed the art, and even found myself having quite emotional/visceral reactions to the pieces.
We enjoyed a fine glass of beer at the trendy adjacent wine bar midday, and also took advantage of the Moo Brew tour & tasting. WOW - great value and fun was the tour. Got to try soooo much beer, and learn heaps about not just the brewing process and history of Moo Brew, but the MONA facility and history itself.
Had a most phenomenal day - the entrance price to MONA was well worth, and I definitely would recommend spending ALL day here, allow yourself sufficient time to take in all the great pieces.

Had a lovely dining experience here on our Hobart holiday recently. We wanted a nice, fine-dining restaurant and chose this based on internet reviews. Most everything was a huge plus - great cocktails, lovely/helpful waitstaff (very attentive), cozy fire going in the fireplace. Delicious (and promptly served) food. We enjoyed every bit of food - esp anything to do with fish! Yum.
And somehow I still had room for dessert...SO glad I went for it - the peanut butter mousse with banana & chocolate was divine! A work of art with so many layers and textures and tastes, truly a wonderful sweets experience.
Monty's was also very reasonable - our three course meal and drinks was well under what we'd expected to pay for a nice dining experience!
My only fault with the place was our table/comfort level. I didn't
expect a fine-dining place to have plastic folding chairs. I don't know if all tables had this, or just ours, but we were seated (and this was with a book far in advance, and at an early hour so they weren't busy whatsoever) at the table closest to the door/hostess stand. It felt like we were sitting in part of the walkway, and took me ages to relax. I asked if they had any other tables and the offered only the one directly next to ours, which was pretty much the same - mere centimeters away. As a former restaurant manager and foodie, I would DEFinitely recommend NOT even having these tables exist, the ones so close to the door. They were NOT comfortable, to be so on top of the entrance.
And while you're at it, some nicer, far more comfortable chairs are in order!

A lovely little bakery with above-average pastries (try the muffins!) and great coffee.
Great breads and nice little treats for the kiddies as well.
My only complaint is the size - it's one of those super tiny Melbourne gems that's always so crowded (hard to get a table, so I always opt for take-away). But other than that, I definitely would give this a try if you're in the trendy northern suburbs.

Can't say enough how much my partner and I LOVE this restaurant!
Sooooooo delicious, everything here was a major palate pleaser. We'v been twice now (and would dine here more often if we had more babysitter options!). They've apparently just started doing take-away, which I'm keen to take advantage of!

Anyway, we've had the degustation menu both times we've been, which have offered different dishes each time. The quality of food is amazing, and the value is astounding, esp for this area! VERY reasonable price for the amount and quality of excellent, unique Japanese dishes.

Also noteworthy is the brilliant booze at this place and superb service. Very attentive service, akin to that of super fine dining. We were very well-taken care of, and the knowledge of the waitstaff was wonderful. They even have a sake master, in addition to a sommelier, and I enjoyed talking to him about sake, and experiencing my first Sake flight (3 different small portions of delicious sake). They specialise in sake, as well as japanese whiskey...yum! We also had cocktails here and they were outstanding.

NO complaints - I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Save room for dessert too!

NB* Kumo has regular specials (pop up sakitori happy hours, etc) so sign up for their newsletter, as they often offer GREAT deals too.

We used to be uber fans of Noodle Star! They've always been reliably amazing - up until three months ago. Not sure if the management has changed or what - but there is a DEFINITE downgrade in the quality of food put out. We've literally been ordering from them for years, at least once a fortnight, as they are inexpensive, fresh, yummy and always quick to deliver.

Now, all of the usual dishes we order have changed. I'm not sure if Noodle Star has decided to cut corners with cheaper ingredients, or if the chefs have changed hands, but the dishes aren't great. Sauces have changed, flavours, quality - even service (whereas our orders were always correct, things are now stuffed up).

We've tried a few times since this "shift", just in the hopes things will be okay again from our very beloved noodle delivery place, but sadly not.
I don't think we'll be ordering from here again, unfortunately.

Noodle Star - if you're reading this, PLEASe go back to how you were prior to a few months ago. We miss the excellent food we you once had, and would even pay more for the previous yums.

This review is for Brunswick City Baths, Brunswick VIC

I have mixed feelings about Brunswick Baths.
They tend to be hit or miss in terms of service, facility and services offered. For instance, I find the gym often terribyl unorganised - the number of times I've looked online AND called to ensure a class was running, only to get to the gym and it's not on, is infuriating. Also, due to their recent renovation and using a temporary space, they've been frustrating (i.e. - I went to do a group class and was told I had to drive or walk to the old space, and when I did the doors were locked. Grr.)

We've also found that the new indoor pools are not heated enough. And, despite numerous people expressing this on their FBook website, they have done nothing to remedy the temperature of the water. I won't take my children back to the kid pool. The facility was too cold and not well structured (freezing cold locker rooms, too).
I think the fact that I've constructively complained about things over the past few years - to have nothing much done to remedy - means I've sort of given up on this gym.

While the facilities are nice, the classes pretty good and the Personal Trainers excellent, there's too many downfalls for me (their timetable for group fitness isn't ideal, and they haven't changed it for many years to try and accomodate other members of the community). to be honest, I'll take me and my family to Coburg or Northcote leisure centres for better services.

I love this gym! No frills in appearance perhaps, but it's a great place to work out, especially if you're not a gym-junkie and just want an inexpensive but nice place to workout. I use the women's-only gym sometimes, as well as the classes. There's a laidback, non-competitive atmosphere which is nice, and the classes are excellent! GREAT value for money - $5 a pop to get in, whether you do a class (try ZUMBA there, best classes around!) or just the regular gym. I love not having to commit to memberships, just paying casually is great.
The front desk staff are incredibly friendly, smiley guys. I've never been upstairs, to the "regular" mixed gym, but I can say the downstairs facilities are nice. Small gym, true. But decent sized group fitness class, with an excellent sprung floor great for dance fitness.

Coburg is my favourite of the various Moreland libraries. Spacious, good selection, nice space for kids (and great storytime programs). I like the new self-serve system of checking out books, and the fact that you can renew online. The staff have been pretty helpful too. Thanks Coburg library!

A wonderful practice! I highly recommend Brunswick Foot Clinic for any and all of your foot issues. I've had nothing but success in the treatment of my varied problems, and I also find it's just a nicely run clinic (friendly doctors, helpful reception staff, have never had to wait to get in for an appointment). I appreciate great service amongst medical professionals, and you'll definitely get that here. Thorough and lovely.

This place has quite the awesome reputation, and it's very well deserved. After seeing the amazing job they did with my sister and partner's tatts, I finally got my own tatt done. (note - they are very popular and it can takes awhile to get an appointment for larger work, esp with their most revered tattoo artists. For a small piece, you won't have to wait as long).

The place is clean and well-run.
Sean did my tatt and was a lovely bloke - good communicator, which is obv very important before you have that permanent ink put on. My tatt is exactly how I wanted it - very precise work.
The services are cash payments on the day, so be organised. Minmum charge is $100-150, even if your tatt is small and doesn't take much actual time to do (such as mine)
It's not the cheapest tattoos you'll find - but I respect their fees and I'd rather pay for quality.
I honestly can't wait to go back for more!!!
