Nice little restaurant located in Westleigh shopping centre. Good pasta and pizza at reasonable prices. Nice place for birthday parties, but would be wise to book. There is also an outdoor eating area.
Approximate cost: $18 - $25
Being a Costi's fish shop means that you can always buy very fresh produce. Weekly specials are very good, and are much less expensive than other fish shops within the area. Very good range of seafood too. The staff can give you some very good ideas for cooking the individual types of fish which is very helpful.
A terrific range of fruit and vegetables. Shop is quite big and inviting. Weekly specials are good. They also have a wonderful range of gourmet cheeses, olives, oils, breads and home made chutneys and sauces. Great for all the foodies out there. Staff are very helpful.
This butcher's shop has won many awards for their sausages. Great range to choose from, and although a little pricey, well worth paying the extra money for the quality. Their other meat is always consistently good. The staff are very friendly and offer lots of suggestions for meat dishes. Coles are now even stocking some of their sausages because they are so good.
A local dry cleaner conveniently located opposite Normanhurst railway station. The quality is good, however you may have to wait a few days for some items to be cleaned. They do have some specials, so just ask. Staff are very friendly.
This is the only tailor that I now use in the Hornsby area. The prices are much more reasonable than other tailors. The service is good, and alterations are usually done with two days. A good place to go for quality alterations are a reasonable price.
World famous jetty that is 1.8 kms long making it one of the longest in the world. You can walk or catch the Jetty Train which is a great experience for the family, however bookings are recommended especially on a weekend. At the end of the jetty there is an underwater observatory which is fantastic for the kids. A must see if you are in this part of the world.
A nice place to eat, however lunch times are crowded so allow plenty of time if you want to eat there. Staff are nice, the food is good, and take away available. They also do specials at the end of the day, so handy for those on a budget.
Very friendly staff including the owner's border collie which is great to see. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a good range including good reds and whites. Very handy if you commute as the store is in the Normanhurst shops and very close to the train station. A good place to pick up a good bottle of wine on the way home.
If you want something a bit different in luggage or bags, this is the place to go. Not the cheapest place, but the sell a range of quality goods. They also have specials which are worth checking out.
