this is a branch of the cafe in erskineville and offers a more extended fare. Its israeli cuisine which i have little experience of. WE arrived for diner (yes, they were open for dinner) and its was pretty ordinary. The meal was ok- but the servings were small and the service patchy. The meal would suit a lunch or breakfast better.

another winner in erskineville. This is the longest running cafe i can recall at this site- following a few less successful cafe ventures. The shenkin wraps are excellent, although a little on the steep side in my opinion ($15). good coffee and other oprtions mean everyone is happy

a great little erko / suburban alternative, cafe sofia is a sound choice. Its a staple- been here for ever and one of the originals after the streetscaping about 10 years or more ago. Godd bagels and fruit drinks. generous portions. gets hot in the back section and pretty busy at times

good coffee. ok snacks. the service was a little standoff-ish but maybe it was a bad day?. either way, this place, at the opposite end of church st to westfield and close to riverside theatres, is a small cafe with a good rep in a highly competitive area. Apart from the coffee, nothing here would particularly lure me back. just the regular cafe fare. ho-hum.

loving hot star chicken. loving it. Its a hole in the wall, cheap and tasty...dont expect gourmet cuising here, its deep fried take away chicken, a limited menu and its great. if you are craving something fried and yum, go hot star. open 11am - 11pm its a petrfect snack to mop up the liquid in you belly. It is what it is, choose an ENORMOUS schnitzel like breast piece, pop corn like bites and team up with mushies or fries. yum. choose a sauce if inclined. its good, its cheap, its fast and its tasty.

yum cha, saturday was good. the service was refreshingly polite and efficient and they brought all the things we asked for (even water). I quite liked the yum cha- the dumplings were fresh and not sticky or gluey and full. We arrived at 11.45 and at that time the selection was a bit limited, it appeared that there were a few more choices as time passed. All the standards were there, there were few less 'popular items' (eg tendon, blood jelly etc) . interestingly, there were quite a few sweet options including several iterations of sage/tapioca. the mango pancakes were particularly good. The elderly trad chinese i was with gave it a thumbs up which speaks volumes. (or maybe they were just really really hungry?) either way, it was pleasant- light, airy with entertainingly bad dance music care of the 70-th birthjday upstairs. Approx 30$ per person

this is a franchise for malaysian food. I have been back twice in as many weeks. its good: fast, authentic and pretty affordable. Actually, really good value. My only criticism is that there are few fresh vege options (a few vege curries and a full vege menu but if you want a bit of salad-y stuff, no go). The way it works is good. You choose what you want, write it down and then push a button to get service. It works well- no one bothering you and you get service promptly when you need it. The steamed chicken rice is fantastic, and at 13.50 (rice, chicken, soup, and a side of bean sprouts) its a steal. The noodles are good and the satay tastes like it does in KL. The roti are light and fluffy and not greasy or oily. heres a warning- it gets busy, so you may have to queue on the weekends, but its fast service . btw, go the abc desser. love it.

new favourite japanese please. Its cheap, fresh and fast. The staff are good and the serves are hearty. is there anything more to say?, there are excellent lunch specials and the noodle soups are fantastic. Beware, it gets busy but lunch on the weekend seems ok. I have started driving all the way from home for takleaway. yes, i love it.

This review is for Uber, Ultimo NSW

my friend suggested uber to me. its the alternative to a taxi service- can be a little more expensive depending on your type of car choice. So, lets be frank,. this is fantastic. you sign up on line and create an account. then whenever you want a ride somewhere, you request a pick up using the uber app (which locates you via GPS), and the nearest driver is outside and waiting. The cost of the trip is billed to your account. no money exchange, no tipping, nothing fussy, and no waiting for a cab and haviong to compete with all the other punters. Very good you are somewhere and cabs a hard to come by or you have no cash. all the receipts are available, and you can get get the cost of the triop before hand if you need to via the app. i love it.

nice space, with nice staff. we arrived about 30 minutes before the dreaded lockout and had one drink. the bar was still busy even just before closing. the drinks were good- cocktails well made with some interesting options along with old faves. ok, cant see myself queing to enter though.
